Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Stay Great hotel with a great staff. The staff could not be any more friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the parking. It is valet only and several times over a 2 night stay the front entrance was too crowded to drop my kids off much less valet park. it was much easier to park on the street and walk a short distance to the entrance. Rated 3 out of 5 by Service needs improvement I've stayed at this hotel 2-3 times before for meetings and I've noticed an overall decline on my most recent stay, specifically in service and cleanliness. I called Service Express to request a few things that I forgot at home (tweezers, curling iron, etc.). There was no answer when I called multiple times so it took several phone calls just to talk to someone and find out they didn't have these things, even though they're included on the list of items available from housekeeping. It seems like service is minimal (even to reach the front desk) between 10 pm-7 am. There were 2 large dark red stains in the carpet in my room--I'm scared to know what those are from. I didn't notify the staff at the hotel about this because again, it was difficult to get anyone to answer the phone (front desk, housekeeping or Service Express). At our meeting, they packed 30+ people at tables where we barely had any elbow room--the space would have been appropriate for maybe 20 people. Other meeting attendees had the same impression of the hotel as me. It's disappointing to see that this hotel has gone downhill over the past 6 months. June 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Housekeeping needs a little work I was a bit frustrated with housekeeping. One day they did not leave shampoo or soap in the shower. Another day they failed to leave any washcloths. Unfortunately these were all discovered at the worst possible times, so I had to make due. I do not ask for perfection, but these seem like pretty basic element when servicing a room. December 10, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by A pleasing experience The staff excels in making everyone welcome and are most helpful at all times. The rooms were very clean and for the most part comfortable. There is no parking but the valet service is cordial and prompt. Pricing is a bargain for all the benefits of the hotel and location is ideal. May 12, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Hotel & Staff!!! Booked this room as a last minute quick get away for my family! We were treated wonderfully from the moment we pulled up. The front desk staff was very quick, extremely friendly and efficient. My family and I enjoyed the pool. The bathroom shower was awesome!!! We look forward to visiting this hotel for quick local getaways! July 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bathroom Cleanliness The room was very clean but the bathroom had evidence that the former guest had been ill. The toilet area wa dirty and the floor not properly cleaned Aslo there were not enough towels bath size or hand size. I was so tired and rushed in my schedule that I did not have time to advise. simply cleaned the area myself. Room 768 December 26, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Dirty Rooms and Rooms not sound proof Stayed at this hotel for a wedding. Room was not vacuumed. Told the housekeeper the following day to vacuum and clean the room. Housekeeper had a vacuum cleaner that was not working. Told me that she'll come back to clean the room, but never did. Room was still not vacuumed and cleaned when we got back from the wedding celebration. Complained to Front desk manager. all he could say was, I'll inform the housekeeping department about it. Bottom line is, our complaint did not get resolved. They do not clean their rooms properly. The King size bed we slept on was also sagging. The mattresses are old!!! Rooms are not sound proof. We could hear the children screaming and crying from the other rooms. We could even hear their conversation.There is no so called privacy. Your business can be heard by everyone. This so unexpected for a 4 star hotel around Washington D.C. This is a put-off for us. I will not o to this hotel anymore. I will not recommend this hotel either!!! July 24, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by One night stay Overall, the staff was excellent, courteous and very attentive. My wife and I were there for my employers Holiday Party and chose to stay overnight. The room was very clean and well appointed. Two things disappointed us: The food served to us in the ballroom was bland and in our room, the phone on the desk did not work. December 9, 2013

John, the concierge, was one of the best we have encountered on three continents. Listened to us. Asked questions to ascertain preferences. Generated recommendations on King St. and in DC that were perfectly on target. No SPG Gold perks August 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Stay in DC Area Excellent location. Great area for walking. Hotel shuttle to many locations. King Street Trolley close by and can be used to explore Old Town Alexandria. Staff is outstanding! They are helpful with suggestions and directions to historic locations as well as restaurants. The Westin's Jamieson Grille is a local favorite. June 17, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great staff! This hotel has great staff that anticipates every need. There was noise coming through a vent from another room that prevented full sleep and I never received the $5 or500 points for going green with housekeeping. However, the club floor was wonderful and the food excellent. Great location too. April 9, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff was exceptionally helpful. There was never a time when I needed something that they did not jump at the chance to accommodate me immediately. The only thing negative I would say was that I thought the food and drink were a bit pricey, but at least it was good! November 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfort and convenience The primary reason for staying at the Alexandria Westin was to attend an all day business conference there; however, the room and amenities made our stay a more memorable one. Early check-in was available (9 am) and we had a room upgrade. The prepaid rate was a great value for what we received in return. February 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Service I enjoyed my stay at the Westin. I was greeted by the best staff member at the Front Desk. I was checked in early into room 641. The room was clean and the amenities were very nice. I would reccommend that the over head light fixture be cleaned. I will definitely return to the Westin for my future stays in VA. March 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has almost all the comforts of home The room was great, the bed and bedding was super comfortable. TV was good. I had one issue... there is a guide on screen for the tv but no way to ascertain what is playing on the channel. I found that to be most annoying. My guide at home does allow me to see at a glance what is playing on the tv station. November 7, 2012

Watch out and make sure everyone is doing their job or you may get slammed with charges that you never approved. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great staff From the time I arrived at the Westin, I was treated well, staff called me by name and remembered me. Special recognition to Ron who worked at the desk for going out of his way to direct me to locations I wanted to visit in the city. If I return to that location, I will certainly stay there again. Rated 4 out of 5 by VERY COMFORTABLE Nice pool and hot tub. Nice rooms and very clean. Bed mattress nice, pillows too soft. Excellent meal at the restaurant. Valet parking too expensive. Access to wireless internet free in lobby, but $xx.xx was charged when my daughter tried to access and was denied. Needs to be more clear on access. September 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice hotel. But don't expect any food late night Hotel was typical Westin. Everything was pretty nice about it. The thing that upset me the most was after a 5 hour flight from the West coast, getting to the hotel at 1am, I was in search of food and was told NOTHING is available. No late night room service, no nearby food spots open. Not even a salad. In my room I looked in the book and noticed is said "Late Night Dining Menu 11pm - 6am" and had a list of things available (typical in hotels). Called the front desk and they said No we don't have late night dining. Second thing, my reservation was for two nights. I checked in and confirmed two nights. But the hotel staff took the liberty to check me out prematurely after 1 night just b/c housekeeping didn't see my bags in the room. What difference does that make. I reserved 2 nights and confirmed 2 nights. Why are you checking me out early on your own accord. Third thing - front desk did not even greet me as Platinum, ask me what I would like for amenity, or offer or search for upgrades. June 7, 2013

The customer service piece has something to be desired with the slowest check-in, getting the reservation incorrect (and thereby locking me out of my room the last day) and a valet service that is slow.l April 11, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent except for the Hallways This Westin is excellent in all respects except for the Hallways. The carpets are badly worn and stained. Used room service trays stay in the hall for a long time and housekeeping carts and repair carts are left with no one using them. This isn't up to the standards of the rest of the hotel. We arrived at 8:30 Am following a sleepless night travelling in the early hour , and the hotel rooms were available and we were able to check in and rest before going to our conference early afternoon. Rated 1 out of 5 by Dirty and worn, dismissive staff From the frayed towels to the dirty and noisy room this place should be skipped. Imagine if I had not stayed in an "executive Suite". The staff is totally clueless in the service industry. Late check out? NO Nearby restaurant? Here is a list! Directions to Elizabeth St? I don't know. May 27, 2013
