Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs some investment This hotel charges a steep price (940 rack rate) for a small room overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The room is fine, except that even on the second floor there is almost zero water pressure in the shower. The other problem is that the lighting is very poor due to energy saving bulbs and lack of lamps so that in the evening the room is semi dark. The "complimentary" cup of tea/coffee comes with a €6 delivery charge. For €940 a night I'd expect a bit better! October 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful week in Paris This hotel was perfect in all ways: A beautiful suite upgrade, bottles of water delivered to the room, and a comfortable stay. Yes, the hotel is old and original; but that leads to its character. The location is perfect being in the 1 arr and a short walk to the tuilleries metro stop: The Christmas decorations were delightful! I found my preferred hotel for my next trip to Paris! Thank you to the entire team for an absolutely perfect Paris Holiday!!! November 29, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Dissapointed with new design I've stayed in Westin in 2006 and was absolutely charmed with the palace style wich correspond to location and history of this bulding. This year, going to Nice through Paris we've choosed Westin again. New contemporary design of the hotel is now absolute disappointment, you can see this everywere else in any place in the world. Corridors look like corridors in a prison or in a hospital. Rooms are rather comfortable but not autentic like before. November 29, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by hotel needs up dating we were given a room # 4026. agent knew we were SPG. horrible room. No place to put clothes , tiny window so very dark, closet deep and set so far back with no light inside, tv set so small could not see from a few feet away. Were moved to a new room after by "Myline". Very nice agent> June 25, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great location not so much quality The facility is well located and nicely kept. We had a Jr suite on the top floor. It looked beautiful and had very good size... on first impression. The problems then came up, outside our room there were a couple of dirty glasses since we arrived and weren't picked up until the next morning. Our luggage wasn't delivered to our room when we went up so I called reception and they said it was coming up. 15 minutes later I had to go down and ask for it again and they located it then, saying that they had sent it up and since no one was in the room (we were there and lost 45 minutes of Paris) they had sent it to storage. 5 minutes later they finally sent it up. I also mentioned the dirty glasses and no response about those. Upon check-in they asked us for the reason of the stay which was our 10th anniversary and that was that, I expected at least a congratulations card, but maybe expected too much about the hotel, but speaks volume to me about the real level of attention. As they say, details go a long way. June 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cold small room room we were given was very small and the heating didn't work properly. Staff did give us a heater which helped. Connecting room which unfortunately let us hear everyone word neighbours said. Concierge staff were not overly helpful in trying to assist us with dining for vegetarians and their suggestions didn't have any. lack of interest was the concern as they provided a map with their "approved" restaurants but didn't cater for our needs. Rated 3 out of 5 by Underwelmed ... Had high expectations, but in practice were let down by - failure of hotel booked vehicle to turn up at CDG on our arrival (they said booking mixed up in system); noise from adjoining room enough to wake us up each evening; failure of breakfast waiting staff to correctly deliver meal - my wife's arrived but mine did not - after 2 requests and 45 minutes we left and I ate elsewhere. Pity .... great premises in great location in great city. September 1, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great service My wife & I were traveling for our 25 year anniversary & this was our first stop in our 21 day trip. The service at the front desk by Claudia & the concierge service by Pierre was fantastic. I thought the hotel staff was very friendly & willing to help us. June 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing hotel in amazing location A beautiful hotel set in such a beautiful part of Paris. The hotel itself is classic and is finished extremely well. The staff were extremely professional and treated us extremely well and recognized our SPG status. The restaurant (the outdoor) is stunning and we sat there every day for hours at a time! We cant wait to go back to this hotel in April and relive our past stay. this is by far the best hotel we have stayed at in Paris February 18, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Facilities not in line with expectations I was very disaappointed to see that for a hotel of that standard there was no chargers available at reception/concierge for the guests. there is a very archaic system where you have to lock your phone in a cabinet, pay for it to be charged and come and get it after 3 hours... furthermore, in light of the size of the cabinets you cold not put an ipad for example but only normal phones... as I said, this is really disappointing ... Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome location and amenities The hotel is adjacent to the Tuileries and within easy walking of the Louvre, great shopping and fascinating Paris neighborhoods. The staff really made us feel at home. Our room was spacious and well-designed for our comfort. There was plenty of closet space and the bed was awesome. Our complimentary continental breakfast as our SPG perk was superb!! We look forward to our return trip to Paris and the Westin Paris- Vendome Hotel. December 28, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful thanksgiving stay in Paris. Was there last week with my family and had a wonderful time. Location was perfect. Could walk to Eric Kayser on Rue de Casanova for breakfast. The junior suite and the deluxe room for the kids were of adequate size and comfort. Excellent view of the Eiffel tower and the Tuilleries. Only thing that bothered us were the sounds of sirens from ambulances passing by. Staff were very helpful. Would stay again at this hotel next visit. December 6, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location, great historic hotel but laissez faire attitude at breakfast was a disappointment I arrived later in the evening. My room was ready and with a beautiful view over the Jaridin des Tuileries and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The hotel location was wonderfully convenient for my dinner appointment . My room was very nice and well maintained leading to a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The gym is among the more basic Westin Workouts I have found globally and was like being banished to a dungeon in the basement with absolutely no natural light; so I minimised my workout. Perhaps the only real disappointment I had with the hotel was the breakfast service. To get a cup of coffee at the buffet required me to essentially shout at the waitstaff across the section where I was seated. I was convinced I was wearing Harry Potter's invisibility cloak. Then my coffee was weak and lukewarm. I tried to get a fresh cup but the quality was just as bad. December 10, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Staff The Westin Paris - Vendôme is a great Westin property. As a platnium member I stay in a SPG property ~150 nights a year. This is one of the best. Location is perfect. Near all the major attractions and close to great resturants. Titika Rapanaki was an excellent representative. Thank you - Will be back June 15, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Expectation This hotel did not meet my expectations of a four star hotel. July 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by SPG Platinum benefits are GREAT! My wife and I stayed here to be close to the Musee du Louvre. On site restaurant was quite expensive, given that the USD was worth only 65 cents to their EURO. We ate elsewhere, found a Starbucks nearby and enjoyed being in this area of Paris, and in this Westin. The concierge was bit on the "I don't really care" attitude, but the SPG desk representative was fantastic and was very kind and helpful at every level. She was great! December 6, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by The rate of breakfast are not alligned with the level of the offer. With your rates the quality and offer should be absolutely different. if not you should review the rates. July 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exquisite Anniversary experience at Westin Vendorme My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the Westin Vendome Paris and it was a perfect experience from beginning to end. We were greeted by very friendly hotel staff, and upon check in we asked for a room with a view. We had booked the Jr. Suite but none of these types of rooms were available with a view of the Eiffel Tower, so we were given a second option to stay in a regular King room with the view. This was definitely worth it, as the room was still plenty spacious especially for European standards, and we could see the entire skyline of all the major monuments from the Louvre, to the Eiffel Tower, all the way to the Arc de Triumph and we had a mini balcony on the 3rd floor. It was phenomenal. An added bonus was that the last day of the Tour de France took the cyclists right in front of our balcony! The facilities were wonderful, there was a beautiful courtyard with restaurant that overlooked a fountain. The location was right in the middle of everything with easy access to metro which we took from/to the airport, and in walking distance to many of the attractions. The only negative is that the hotel is right in front of an amusement park in the Tuilieres Garden, which distracts and takes away from the beauty of the skyline. However, our room had very good soundproof windows and we could not hear the noise when we closed the window. We were able to check in early and while we waited for our room they provided a complimentary drink at the bar. We had the buffet breakfast at the hotel each morning which was very tasty. As an added treat, the hotel provided us complementary Champagne and macaroons to celebrate our special occaision on our first evening in Paris. Our SPG Gold status was recognized and we chose the free internet in the room as our benefit upon checkin, and we appreciated the outlet at the desk that took our US plugs! The concierge were very helpful and knowledgeable and helped us get tickets to the museums, boat tour and reservations at good restaurants. Overall we had a wonderful time thanks to Westin Vendome hotel and staff. I would recommend this to any friend and hope to visit again! July 29, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Beautiful spaces, but needs work I stayed at Westin for six nights in June, attending a conference in the hotel. The hotel's location is fantastic, of coursee. The meeting rooms are beautiful, including the courtyard, the staff very helpful. But wifi is awful throughout the hotel and was a constant problem. It has to be fixed. I can't return to a hotel with such horrific wifi. (Small issue: your email to me after my stay identified me as someone else.) June 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel/Good Location We enjoyed our two nights at the Westin. From the time of check-in with Ann, very good to the final evening in the lounge with Phillip, great representative of the hotel, lounge manager I believe. The rooms were a little small, but it is Europe. The overall cleanliness in spots needs attention. A lot of dirt and dust on the floor boards by the elevators. Slow check out. Very good consignors. I will come back. Thank you! March 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by wonderful place to stay and will return. we spent 4 nights here and had a great time. The free breakfast with Platinum is a must and we looked forward to it every AM before a long day. we also saw the Paris Marathon throught the window of Le First while dining. We had a Junior suite but with a view of a closed off courtyard roof disappointing, but then we were hardly in our suite except at night. A view of the Efiel Tower at night would have been a nice touch. April 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Location & Staff Great time at Westin Vendome. I am a Platinum member who was staying on points and the staff working the special reception desk the night of September 26, 2013 were fabulous. They made us feel like welcome guests and gave a great Brassiere recommendation around the corner. Had a junior suite that was great - only negative faced interior but it was fashion week and was on points so totally understable. Great experience! September 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous Views and Location This stay in Paris ended up as one of our best vacations ever. We arrived on Christmas day and were welcomed by the staff. We ended up with a room on the fourth floor with an Eiffel Tower view with an absolute spectacular view. We like this hotel for the service, quality of food, and friendliness of the staff. The location makes it very easy to get around. It is within a 5 minute walk to the Louvre or Museum D’Orsay. \ March 4, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Service Should Have Been Better I was very surprised by the service level. I ordered dinner from room service late in the evening. After the food arrived, I discovered the utensils were missing. Room Service was difficult to get in touch with and I was placed on music hold for long periods of time (reception did not pick up either). When I finally received the utensils, the food was NOT hot and NOT good. Also, there was a long line when I checked out and I was under time pressure to get to the train station. There was not an adequate number of personnel at the reception desk and no personnel specifically dedicated to Gold and Platinum Members. Surprisingly, there were two Westin employees seated at the SPG desk that did nothing to assist....left a very bad impression with the Starwood members in line. On the positive side, the Concierge Desk was very helpful with dining suggestions and reservations. September 9, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Always look forward to stay based on the hotels excellent team . On this trip, sadly, the room cleaning let us down, and the room service food was particularly poor, completely uneatable on the last night of our stay. The hotel is looking tired and hope it will be revitalized soon. It is a disappointment to see carpet tears repaired with tape, walls in desperate need of touch up etc. Again it is the wonderful concierge team that keeps us coming to the hotel. continue to book. Rated 5 out of 5 by Food service Hotel is very well located and very well maintained. It would be helpful if they had a simple restaurant with lower prices. July 3, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by good area This is a big hotel, so don't expect to be coddled. It was surprisingly quiet, except in the wee hours of the morning, when music drifted in until about 6am. However, everything seems to run pretty well, except the internet. I was on the 2nd floor so my service kept switching from lobby to hotel internet, with lost connections, which was annoying. Room seemed not sparkling clean. Breakfast 39 euros is a joke. March 25, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Concierge needs improving My experience at this hotel was somewhat mixed. The lady that checked us in was the nicest person working for this westin hotel. The men at the front desk and concierge were not that nice. It seemed like every time you asked them a question it annoyed them. The front desk did a lot better job than the concierge desk. Very rude like attitudes. Also we signed up for wifi and it would half way work in our room. July 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Stay at Paris The hotel was comfortable and provided all the amenities that we required, family of 3. The staff are very friendly and helpful. One issue: the concierge information is not uptodate. They recommended a restaurant that was closed, then they gave us a bus/boat schedule that was one year old. And their directions are not easy to follow. But overall the hotel is great, just don't rely on the concierge service. August 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Room with a view During our recent stay at The Westin Paris - Vendome, my wife and I were treated to gracious hospitality, impeccable service and attention to detail. The view of the Jardin de Tuileries from the balcony of our fifth floor suite was a highlight of our visit. The staff made us feel like special guests and ensured that we had we had a wonderfully enriching visit to Paris. We look forward to our return soon. November 8, 2011
