I initially had a problem with my television. However, after notifiying the desk a tech.arrived within 10-15 minutes and repaired the problem.
The hotel is only a short walking distance from the french quarter, restaurants, souvenir stores, street cars, self parking and valet, beautiful view, loved the bed, excellent staff, and bar (the best long island i've ever tasted) would definitely stay there again.

I've been staying at Starwood Properties for many years and this was my least favorite expereience. The hotel was clean, the people were friendly the room, was not what I would expect. First day it wasn't cleaned, second day I had to ask, towels, toiletries, toilet paper, coffee, tea, water, etc were not replenished consistently and I often had to call to get any one of those items delivered to the room.

This was our third stay and this time the hotel had some problems. However the other times were great. The elevators were down, only two were working that meant LONG waits. Also one night the hotel had water issues, no hot water in the shower. Yuk! The staff told us the exact probs and that they were working on them, they were helpful. Like I said earlier, the other stays we're great, just not this one.

The hotel had a great location and was very nice inside. The elevators inside the hotel were kind of an eye sore and needed to be renovated. The elevators were also very slow. We had a few breaks at our conference and spent most of the break waiting for the elevators. Which left no time to really go back to the room. Other than the elevators the sevice and facilities were very good. I would stay again.

Fromt he check-in to the check-out, service was phomenal. Everyone assisted us professionally and proficiently. My wife and I had a blast in New Orleans. We would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants comfort and convienent during their stay in New Orleans. We have decided that this will be our home away from home when we are in New Orleans. Kudos to the staff of the Westin New Orleans Canal Place.

Only complaints is that we had the do not disturb sign on our door until about 10:00 and then had to call twice to get the room cleaned and ended up just taking the towels and having the trash emptied since it got so late ( after 5:00). Hotel is at the end of a one way street which made arrival hard on a Friday afternoon. But not the hotel's fault the parking staff got us in quickly once we got there!

Having to walk down 12 flights of stairs in heels and dressed for a wedding was very disappointing. One elevator for 2 weddings staying in the hotel was ridiculus. Get them fixed!!!! Then we got in one elevator and it skipped our floor. Waited on first floor forever because the doors closed before we could get on. Get them fixed!!! Had to wait for hot water to be fixed and takes a trick to turn TV on.

Really good idea if you want to be by the French Quarter, but not stuck in the thick of things. Don is the door guy your want to know. Really great at his job and makes it a priority to take care of you.
Had to ask several times for the same requests to be handled. This had to do with the front desk and getting house keeping to comply. Great view of the river. A very nice hotel. I'd stay there again.

Other than the bellman Bill the the rest of the staff that I encountered should be terminated. Horrible service from house keeping! From being down right rude to walking in on me in the water closet after informing them that I was occupied three times! Also the shower/ tub was old and missing parts. My wife had to use a coffee cup in order to take a bath! When informming staff no one really cared!!!

We arrived at 5pm and our room was not ready. There were 4 people in our party and they put us in a room with 1 bed. When I called to get another room they would not give us another room. I made the reservation with 4 people but they blamed me. The service was terrible and I would never stay at the Westin in New Orleans again. There are too many other nice hotel in New Orleans to stay at the Westin.

My wife and I recently stayed at The Westin to attend a wedding in New Orleans. The staff was nice and helpful during check-in. However, the elevators in the hotel did not function properly all weekend. Sometimes we had to wait five to 10 minutes before one was available. We were on the 17th floor so taking the stairs would have been challenging. Given the room rate I expected better accommodations.

The view over the river was wonderful and we loved it. The elevators were not working properly, though, and the wait was up to 15 minutes at times. Worse, our group of 5 went to the bar / restaurant and sat for 20 minutes & no one approached us despite serving others in the same area. My husband went to the bar and ordered us drinks; after waiting 15 more minutes and no one ever approached, we left.

We were in town for the Rock-n-roll half marathon. It was our first visit to New Orleans as well as our first marathon. We needed a comfortable place to stay so that we would be rested for the race. We had a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and enjoyed watching the various ships and barges passing through. The room was immaculate! The bed was comfortable and we were able to get good rest the two nights we were there. The staff were very friendly and answered all of our questions. It was nice having the elegant stores right under the hotel, because my wife realized she needed a pair of tights to go out to dinner our second night and it was very convenient. There was also a starbucks and a running store. We had everything we needed. The walking distance to the nightlife and restaurants was also convenient. We had a wonderful experience! The staff were very respectful of our privacy.

First, I commend the staff, from the Greeter, to the Deskclerks. All were very friendly, helpful and professional. Excellent location. Located adjacent to a beautiful shopping mall. Only disliked the 11th floor Registration Desk. Took two elevator to get to the room. We were upgraded to a Suite and appreciated the large bathroom area. The bed was so very comfortable. Love the stay...love the city.

This hotel is awesome its the greatest the location is exactley what you need all access to everything shopping dinning and close to every thing. The service was spectacular I needed a few personnal items and they where right there for me. The Hotel is Beautiful and you have an awesome view of the city and the river while dinning. Just the greatest place to stay for enjoying a getaway or Business

I was there July 26- July 29 with a family reunion. I had a great time. Everyone at the hotel was super nice,starting with my check in. Don the bellman was the most polite,friendly,accomendating person I have ever met at "any" hotel. This was my first time in New Orleans,and when I return I will stay at this hotel again. A few of my family members had problems with their rooms,but mine was fine.

This hotel is in severe need of some basic updating. The furniture in the lobby is stained tattered and torn. The walls are marked-up and the carpets are stained. The management doesn't seem to care that cleaning crews clean until 6:00pm, a time when most are getting ready for the evening, so your room might not get cleaned. For a Westin this place is a joke, they are running it into the ground.

Room temp 74 and had to use fan. AC was broken and blowing hot air in both rooms. I booked the Bienville suite and instead received a king river view room attached to the old hospitality suite. Was told I would be given 20,000 points for a free night and have yet to get them! The worst part was that I live only 15 mins away to stay in such horrible conditions. It was as if Katrina struck again!

I understand the hotel is undergoing renovations, however, only having 2 or 3 elevators working on New Years Eve weekend was horrible. As I was only 4 flights up from the lobby I used the stairs most of the time, people higher up were waiting upwards of 15 minutes for an elevator. Other problem was valet parking, extremely slow. For a business traveler like myself these 2 problems are very bad.

We've been spoiled, so we expected more. While the location is great and the views great, the condition of the entire hotel was disappointing. No safety mat in the shower (the shower and tile in the bathroom were incredibly slippery and dangerous), no slippers, a missing robe one day, average maid service, the poor condition and age of the elevators. Why a bidet in the room? That space would be way better used for another vanity and sink rather than only one sink in the bathroom. The entire experience seemed as though the hotel would appeal fine to drunken revelers at Mardi
Gras or the Super Bowl, but not to travelers looking for a Westin experience. The furniture in the 11th floor sitting area should be trashed, as the pieces smell awful and are incredibly uncomfortable. The staff were great; friendly and helpful. But, the physical plant must really get beat up by drunks on a regular basis.

New Orleans is my hometown. I now live in Los Angeles and visit family in New Orleans. I always stay in Westin Hotels and was completely surprised at the condition of the room. It needed renovation, the bathroom especially. The woodwork was severely damaged, especially near the floor where water had rotted it. I was on the Starwood Preferred floor, the 29th and expected better accommodations.

I could not have been happier with this hotel. We stayed in a regular king room, and the room was very spacious. The bathroom was huge, and I loved how the bathroom was kept separate from the sleeping area. The staff was great and efficient, and the bar was great. This is our new favorite spot to stay in New Orleans.

Above all things, this hotel ALWAYS has excellent service. I always feel welcomed here and they always recognize my status and seem willing to assist with any needs I may have. Location is superb. My only down comment would be that the furnishings and the hotel's appearance need to be updated. I would gladly take outdated though fr the terrific service and the cleanliness that is found here.

We had very excellent car service, the valets were very dependable and friendly. Other staff was decent. The room was NOT cleaned all weekend. Someone had knocked and asked if we wanted our room clean- my husband told them "Yes, we would be heading out in just a few minutes." But we came back to the room untouched. Overall the price and location were-great, valets-great, other staff-okay.

Hotel is in the best location and the common rooms are of a high class hotel. The guest rooms however leave a lot to be desired. Dirty carpets, Stained chairs, Missing items such as shower cap and body lotion, We had to ask for slippers which became black when walking on the carpet.
Great hotel that could be really great but doesn't quite make it.!!

This was my second stay at The Westin, New Orleans. My daughter and I were there for the weekend. Any problem we may have encountered, was addressed immediately by the respectful and courteous staff. They made sure our visit was as pleasant as they could possibly make it. The room and view were magnificent. No doubt if I am ever in New Orleans again, The Westin will be the hotel for me.

As a platinum member I'm always happy to come here. They upgrade me to the bienville suite without me asking. The room is spacious with amazing views of the river and the French quarter. The front desk staff is friendly. I especially liked the bellman (valet) who greeted me on Xmas eve with a great attitude even though he wasn't home with his family for the holidays. A great stay again.

Overall our stay was great. Nice room, with a magnificent view of the river. Only one or two things would make the services better. 1. Have free wifi in the rooms. 2. Have free computer access for e-mail, etc. I seems rather chintzy to have to pay extra for these services where you are already paying close to $400 a night for room and taxes. Overall, a great hotel with a great location.

Had a beautiful view of the Mississippi from my bed. But the bed was not firm enough for my liking. The upholstery on the the chair was dirty and showed wear as did the chairs in the lobby. The bathroom was modern and very bright and offered plenty of counter space. Ordered chicken through room service. The chicken was not cooked through. I was offered a replacement meal at no charge.

We had packed our bags but had arranged a late check out for 3pm...staff assumed we had left room, they rented it to another guest before our scheduled check out time... We could not get back in our room to make sure we didn't leave anything After our walk in new orlleans / clean up before we left town....Not sure why they gave our room up before our scheduled late check out for 3pm.
