The check in desk is not on the first floor, no sign to let you know where it is and the bell staff offered no help in knowing where to go. Upon leaving, the bell staff completely ignored me while waiting on my luggage. March 24, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by LOVE THIS HOTEL STAYED THERE LAST WEEKEND FOR 4 NIGHTS. THE STAFF WAS FANTASTIC, ESPECIALLY CARLA, WHO WAS GREAT. LOVED THE LOCATION AND THE 2 ELEVATOR THING DID NOT BOTHER ME AT ALL. CLOSE TO BURBON STREET AND THE RIVERWALK. DEFINITELY WILL STAY THERE AGAIN. December 19, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Off the mark Slowest elevators on the planet. TVs are broken in the gym. Asking for a recommendation of a "healthy place for breakfast" got me a "Fabulous cupcake shop". Location is fabulous. Hopefully the current renovations will help with some of the flaws. December 5, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Room has issues Our experience during our stay from 2/17/13 through 2/21/13 was disappointing. Although the location is excellent, the room seemed tired and we had the following issues during our stay. The first day we tried to lower the shade on our window and the whole thing fell on the floor. Maintenance personnel came and picked it up but didn't reinstall it until the third day of our stay. The sink in the bathrooom was plugged and we had to have maintenance clean it out after the first day. The toilet did not flush properly throughout our stay and about once a day we had to remove the back cover and manually operate the valve/float so that enough water would run to flush the toilet. We had maintenance come up twice during our stay because our television would not work. We finally realized it was a short in the cable and if we wiggled it right the tv would then come on. Gave up on maintenance to fix it. We were given a couple of free breakfast coupons for our troubles on the fourth day of our stay. I would have rather had everything working properly. Rated 2 out of 5 by AC broken/staff rude/breakfast bad/Luggae stuck in elevator Check in was delayed! Front desk Large girl-Rude AC-Broken in suite! Breakfast was horrible! Elevator got stuck with luggage and we were delayed for 1 1/2 hours and some of my luggage had to shipped to my house later. Bartenders were very cold! February 25, 2013

The only thing that kept it from being top notch were a few cleaning issues such as ice bucket still had water from previous guest and no laundry bag in room. You couldn't ask for a better location or a better view. February 12, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Westin Canal Place I stayed for one night. The wife and I were over to see a couple of mardi gras parades. When we arrived, I was going to let the valet take care of the car, but he told me where to park and save almost $20. That was a pleasant suprise. Parked the car, then went to the 11th floor to register, the hotel is a little confusing with separate elevators for parking, the mall and the hotel, thats right 3 sets of elevators, but once you get use to it, no big deal. The front desk people were very nice and helpful, got me into my room at 12:00 not mentioning that we were early. They didn't mention that I was SPG Gold, and didn't offer to upgrade the room, I wish the desk people would recognize that and at least tell you that upgrades aren't available and why. The room was nice, the bed comfortable, the view was probably the best in N.O., looking over the river and the quarter. The shower was weak, and you couldn't use the massage setting at all, that was a little disappointing. Overall it was a nice stay and the hotel is in an excellent location for the quarter. Long black hair in the sink. Overuse of the "Westin scent" sprayed in all public areas. That about sums it up. March 27, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by renovations We stayed at the Westin for a friends wedding.renovations were taking place making our stay less comfortabe than planned. The smell of paint fumes was very irritating & chatter of foreign painters made our morning very uncomfortable. October 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by River View is awesome! The hotel exceeded our expectations. The river view was awesome. Great location. The only negative is we used the self park at $18/day. After the 24 hours we were charged $10 for 1 hour 20 minutes. So make sure you are out on time! August 5, 2013

However, when it came to room service & getting a much needed tile floor cleaning after our toilet overflowed--they were lackluster (room svc) & unresponsive (cleaning the floor).
