Rated 3 out of 5 by Not up to Westin Standards The staff are great and the bar food is excellent but (a) the hallway carpets are badly stained give the hallways a motel 6 look; (b) every piece of brass (elevators, door locks, etc) looks like it has been scratched and beaten, (c) the elevators are really slow; (d) the gym equipment was picked out by a non-athlete; (e) there is no inexpensive place to get breakfast; they have the usual $20+ hotel breakfast so I had to walk into town to Starbucks. Rated 3 out of 5 by Slow elevators Nice hotel with good location. Unfortunately though, the weekend that I was there, a major walk-a-thon was also taking place. It would 've been a huge help if any of the hotel staff would've been aware of this and provided some driving directions to get around the massive event. What should've been a 5 minute trip to Walgreens turned into a 30 minute fiasco both going to the store and back to the hotel. October 24, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent experience I have never been so impressed by a hotel reservation employee like I was when Coy welcomed us. I felt like a movie star or royalty the way he treated us. It really set the mood for what was a very memorable vacation for my wife and I. Coy was very friendly, respectful, knowledgeable on the city, and beyond accommodating. I also want to mention that Richie (Ricardo) from the Bell Staff also went out of his way to make sure my wife and I had a great time. Thank you Westin for a great vacation! October 24, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Disapointed If you want this property to carry the Westin Brand Name it needs to be in line wiht what would be expected under that roof. It's not. Staff needs better training (They are not bad, just rough around the edges) especially at Reception and Dining. October 17, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel Needs Renovation This hotel does not meet Westin standards. The location is very nice but the hotel is dated and needs a renovation. The elevators are very slow and old. For the price we paid, the room was very standard. Our room on the 12th floor was very noisy because the elevator movements or sounds are heard CONSTANTLY. We could not sleep due to the noise. We reported it to the front desk and were told they had not heard this before. $15.00 for self parking is ridiculous. October 13, 2012

Justin and Jessica at the front desk were excellent ambassadors - pleasant, attentive, made me feel like I was the only guest. Even when they messed up my room service order, every staff felt empowered and well trained to do service recovery. Excellent stay overall! October 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Westin Tampa Harbour Island "IS" the place to stay!! October 6 2012 was our 15th anniversary and we smartly decided to stay at the Harbour Island hotel... I want to personally thank Lauren (front desk supervisor) for setting up our dinner reservations, and Jessica (front desk) for even getting our dinner reservations changed when we were delayed getting to the hotel!! The staff even had champaign and strawberry's waiting for us in our suite!! This hotel is by far the best hotel I've ever been at! If your visiting Tampa for business or pleasure, the Westin Tampa Harbour Island hotel is where you want to stay, I will be telling everyone I know just that!! October 10, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Justin at the front desk I commend Justin for his exemplary service throughout my stay. I requested a room change, he accommodated. After my weekend stay, I was sad to leave but you were booked. Justin put me on a magic wait list and somehow got me a room. He then called me to let me know there was availability (I did not leave my phone number - he took the extra step to look me up). Finally, at 6am, before the coffee was out, he went into the kitchen to bring another guest and me a cup of coffee. Justin went above and beyond to do his job - every day! October 10, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff is Amazing The hotel staff goes above and beyond the call of duty. They follow through with every request. I would like to note that Karen and Tia ( I believe thats her name she works night audit shift) were very professional and helpful. My stay was one of the best stays I have ever had at a hotel. Kudos to the management team for instilling the meaning of Hospitality to the staff. October 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Staff is Phenomenal I absolutely love staying at the Westin Harbour Island! The staff here is just phenomenal! They are friendly, courteous, attentive and most importantly they recognize you as if you were family! The facilities are a bit antique, however, I stayed at a newer hotel in the same city and did not feel the love that I did at Harbour Island. Therefore, I came right back! Also, want to give a special shout out to Tito, Tia and Coy who work over night, how have each gone over and beyond to make my stay comfortable! September 24, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel great location We attended a convention at the near by center. The elevator services needs improvement long waits for service. The bathroom cleaning needs more attention, the toilet was dirty during the entire stay in room 631. Carpet stained near door. September 19, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Average Hotel The staff was really nice, but the hotel is just average. A major upgrade is needed and fitness center is horrible. It was steam bath in that closet with machines stacked on top of each other. The area where the hotel is located awesome, but the hotel interior and exterior needs improving. I would only recommend this hotel if you want SPG points other than that, I would not recommend this hotel because lacks the comfort of the Westin experience and I have stayed in many Westin Hotels in the US and this hotel does not meet those standards at all. Furthermore, I am hoping that changes are made to the hotel soon because I travel to area at least 3 to 4 times a year and I would like to continue to stay in this area or I would have to look at other options. Rated 4 out of 5 by The manager went above and beyond to make our stay special. We recently attended my neice's wedding in Tampa and I used my points to get a room for my family as well as my neice and her husband on their wedding night. The rest of my family stayed at the Westin, as well. There was a lot of details with the wedding rehearsal earlier in the day, my mom having her dog, my toddler needing a nap, and my neice getting married. Claudio spoke with my sister and myself several times over the phone to make sure our rooms were ready very early, so that the dog could get in and the baby could get a nap while the rest of us were at the rehearsal prior to the wedding. He upgraded our rooms: my neice and her husband got an 1800 sq foot suite and we got a corner room with a closed partition, so the baby could sleep easier, as well as my older two children. The next morning I went for a run and Claudio made sure there was a cold bottle of water waiting with the valets. The Westin Harbour Island is not the fanciest Starwood resort I've stayed in, but Claudio and the staff did more than anyone ever has to make our stay go smoothly. My whole family was pleased and impressed and my neice was happy and content on her wedding day! Above and beyond would be how I describe our experience. September 5, 2012

Nice location , a bit over priced for what we got however the Rep Natl Conv could've been the reason for price(we werent with them!) overall a pleasant stay but would only go back AFTER renovations. Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Hotel The actual hotel itself was beautiful and we found the dining accessable from inside very convenient. The location on the bay is a very pretty view. The staff was very friendly and accomodating offering an upgrade as a Starwood Preferred Member. Hotel was very accomodating at letting us check out an hour later. Some of the things we were dissapointed with - no microwave in the room and the fridge was really a cooler that didn't keep our food cool enough that we felt safe eating our food we'd stored. Brochures in the room reflect the expensive cost of the linens yet the toliet paper in the bathroom is paper thin. We didn't realize we had to pay for an internet connection - we traveled with a family of 4 who all had computers but he internet connection fee was per device which was inconvenient. Overall the hotel was very nice with a great location and view and we would come back. August 22, 2012

We enjoyed many of the hotels amenities and were only a short drive to dale mabry and our cruise. The vallets made great recommendations and created an excellent trip. We will definitely be back. Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful central Tampa location! Loved the location and being on the exclusive "harbour island". Central to the downtown area and the sights of Tampa. As a Platinum Member, I was surprised at check-in that I had to request an upgrade to a suite and appreciated my room being reassigned to a junior suite - very spacious and comfortable. Rated 2 out of 5 by so upset I had prearranged with the daytime staff all the detail of my husband's surprise 40th birthday - I rented the luxury suite. The daytime staff could not have been more helpful with all the details. Unfortunately, the daytime staff did not communicate with the nighttime staff and we had security on us every 20 minutes and the manager on duty threatened to call the cops. My friends ended up leaving once the threat was made for the cops. This was NOT what I had thought that would happened, considering that I took the time to meet with the hotel personnel and tour the room in advance. We even got in trouble for singing happy birthday to my husband! It was ridiculous. August 10, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Overall Good Stay Overall stay was good. Hotel was being updated in some areas, and your were notified via a letter from GM in your room and check out. 2 reasons I would not rate excellent were that during check-in, and at peak time (around 4pm), only one front desk agent was present, and we were in line about 5 people deep. Later on when slower, 2-3 people were there. The other thing, on our floor, near the elevators, there were plantation blinds that covered the window area. Behind them it was filthy, and had an old guest room key card sitting there from the "Final Four". Perhaps periodic cleaning there would be a good idea. Other than those 2 things, I would rate our stay as excellent. August 8, 2012
