i stayed at the westin between 8/1/12 and 8/4/12 and was really happy and impressed with the hotel itself. i was very disappointed that wifi was NOT free; for such an expensive rate, i expected free wifi as well as a complimentary contenital breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel to those who are on business trips

The service was excellent. My room was spacious and well lit which is important for those over 40. The bathroom was well stocked and the bed was great. I would particularly like to commend the valet parking staff. They were incredibly helpful with directions and the most efficient I have ever experienced at any hotel!

We used SPG points for our stay and were very happy with the hotel and service we received, loved the upgraded room. We have annual passes for Disney and we can't wait to stay here again. Next time we hope the weather will be warmer so we can use the pool.
Westin is my favorite hotel brand.

My spouse and I had an early flight out of Orlando and decided to stay at the Westin because of previous positive experiences with Starwood hotels. We wanted a good night's rest without complications before leaving on vacation. We checked in rather late (930pm - I believe it was room 416) and we were quite exhausted. Starwood preferred guest was not acknowledged at check in. The room seemed fine upon arrival until I entered the bathroom where there was a large amount of something blue spattered on the wall by the door. This was easily noticeable as the wall was painted a cream color. As we were very tired, we decided it was not worth changing rooms, so we simply went to bed. As we were preparing to leave the next morning, I noticed the following issues: water rings on the granite topped desk, only one bathrobe (in a king suite), The hanger on the back of the bathroom door was missing and the hardware was simply exposed, the shower curtain and security safe were "tagged".

The hotel common area is spacious and airy. The rooms are comfortable and come with a microwave and small refrigerator. The pool area is very nice with plenty of lounges, and towels. I used the workout room and the equipment was fine for my needs.

I was expecting this hotel to be as nice as the other Westin hotels I have stayed in like Beaver Creek and Dallas Galleria. The rooms seemed smaller and the furnishings and materials of less quality. It was a nice hotel but nothing special. I also missed a place to pick up a sandwich or pastry and coffee or soda.

great check in. good service from F&B. love te room layout, & Heavenly shower. Only two critiques;
1. I opted for the "green stay" with no hskpg service but they sttill cleaned my room ( no worries)
2. back of the building needs pressure washing/and/or painting :)
All service was great- love the room layout!

You will need to rent a car for convenience. If you are looking for a spacious room, cleanliness and good service this is the hotel you'll want to stay. The pool was average but most certainly clean. We enjoyed playing ping pong at poolside. A bit pricey for breakfast. Overall we would stay here again.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at the Westin Universal Blvd, Orlando. First off, we booked through Hotwire and we feel that the rate was fair. We arrived at about 1am and there were no snags with checking in, but the front desk agent (Trevor, I believe) did not seem to care that we had a Starwood Preferred Guest membership. The room we were given was on the second floor overlooking a concrete deck (could not even see the pool; it was behind a concrete wall). We were given a handicapped room (not requested and not needed) which had a shower but no bath (we have little kids who like baths). The shower was set so low and in the centre of the back wall so the water sprayed directly into the bathroom. Even worse, it did not get hot enough for a comfortable shower. When we called front desk to enquire, the agent said with a laugh that we had to let it run for 10-15 minutes before it got hot!!! At a 4 star hotel??? We do not wish to waste water, so that is totally unacceptable. Additionally, our room was never vacuumed; we saw the same pieces of fluff/garbage on day 5 that we'd noticed on our first morning (and I'm not talking about things against the baseboards). One night our phone started making the "busy" sound, about an hour after we'd fallen asleep. The phone was not off the hook! We picked up receiver of the non-hands free phone (across the room) and put it back down, and 15 minutes or so later, same thing. Had to unplug the phone-the hands free phone never worked (out of batteries?) A couple positives: the kids loved finding Easter eggs filled with goodies out back and the bell desk staff were lovely. Are front desk agents instructed to give those who book through a third party the worst rooms? Why would you encourage your guests to belong to "Starwood Preferred" if you are not going to make them feel in any way preferred?

We stayed here while on vacation. With being very stressed out and tired from the days activities at the parks it was very nice to come back to a relaxing hotel room. The hotel maintained a level of calmness due to the great staff. I wish they had free Wifi in the rooms as well not just in the lobby.

Overall, I expected a little more from a Westin. The bathroom reeked of sweat the entire time that I stayed here (3 nights). There was just a malodorous smell in the bathroom, and I have no idea what it was.
Other than that, everything else met my expectations. Entire staff was pleasant and helpful.

We spent 2 nights in a 2 bedroom suite. It was clean, comfortable, quite and accommodating. Everyone greeted us with a smile and a willingness to be helpful. In particular, the 2 persons attending the car and getting luggage to and from our room went out of their way to be sure we were taken care of.

Let me start by explaining that I have been staying at Westin Orlando Universal Blvd since this property first opened. I have held company functions there, this has been my default property when my company has been attending conferences at the convention center across the road and I have booked blocks of rooms, and it is still my first choice when I come to Orlando. Having said that there has recently been a significant drop off in the quality of some of the rooms
Last month I vacationed in Orlando with my family and we had 3 rooms for 5 nights at this property. My room was terrible and certainly not on par with my previous experiences nor what I would expect from a Westin hotel. The room (Room 830) was musty and on the last day my girlfriend decided to try and find the source of the odor we were experiencing. We found the culprit….a significant mold build up by the door and windows. My girlfriend has respiratory issues and by the time we were departing the mold in the room had caused her to struggle to breathe.
Besides the mold, the room really needs to be deep cleaned. The bathroom wall looked like someone had thrown up on it, the shower had mold throughout the grout and the walls in the living room and entry way were just plain dirty and stained and didn't look like they had been cleaned in a long time. The air duct was also another source of dust and mold and was layered with a thick coating of dust. This isn't something that builds up over a couple of days during our stay.
I really do enjoy staying at this property (I'm booked to stay again in June) however I struggle with this decision given the state of disrepair I am seeing in the rooms and the impact these conditions have had on my family.

Great hotel in good location. Nice clean room and with frequent Platinum upgrades! Awesome views! Fitness center is top notch with tons of equipment and very clean! Pool is nice and never crowded. Only negative is they charge for parking because they are across from the convention center.

The hotel was extremely comfortable thus the heavenly bedding. Staff were helpful and rendered excellent hospitality services.
The location was a perfect vicinity to all attractions, Fla Citrus Bowl, dowtown , and airport but yet it was private quarters from the busy International drive.

Two of my breakfasts didn't come as described.
1. Egg White Panini - had whole eggs and was supposed to have "spring salad" but I got fried potatoes
2. Oatmeal - was supposed to have pecans and bananas. Didn't get either.

The hotel is great and beautiful. Unfortunately, they charge extra for everything including internet access. There is access in the lobby but the signal was so weak that it took almost two hours for me to get my computer connect so that I could send an important file to meet a deadline.

Everyone in this hotel from the parking attendence, to customer serivce, housekeeping service and special events coordinatore and the friendliest and accomodating people I have ever come across. Not to mention the wait staff as well. Thank you very much for making my stay enjoyable.

I had the best stay EVER. I had called to few times before my stay and Brianna made my checkin very easy, She was also there to check me in and was very friendly and helpful, I will most def be back the room was great and so was the whole staff including the housekeeping staff.

Clean stylish look. Comfortable room, good bar and pleasant food. Staff consistently friendly and helpful.
My only complaint - Internet access. Why do some hotel insist on charging such an exorbitant fee. Many now include for free - I consider this now when assessing price.

This was a last minute reservation and I have never stayed at this particular Westin before. Check in was quick and Staff was very helpful with any questions I had throughout my stay. The Hotel had a relaxing pool and patio area, breakfast buffet, and spotless Maid service.

I was in Orlando on business. My initial impression was not great, as the parking deck trashcans and elevator did not seem that well kept. I was surprised at the cleanliness and comfort of the room! Nice staff as well. Enjoyed my stay. I would definitely come back.

We enjoyed our short stay at the Westin. The bartender made a great restaurant recommendation (of course she first recommended the Westin restaurant but were not in the mood for Italian). She recommended MoonFish. It was amazing. Thank you for the recommendation.

I liked being able to walk to my conference.
Only problem was housekeeping didnt replace dishes I had used, even after I left a note for clean silverware and coffee cups. After two days I needed to contact the front desk, who immediately took care of the problem.

Everything great except when asking the housekeeper and giving her a nice tip.. She misinformed me. I said I would like to use the Green option... and she said they would clean each day just not change the sheets. They didn't clean at all the one day I used it.

I cant spell the name of the front office clerk assisting me but he was very professional and accommodating and worthy of note. Really polished and a credit to your organization. The bartender where i ate was also top notch quality of drink mixing and service.

Attended a local conference and chose the Westin for easier access to the event as well as the always reliable, high quality accomodations. Great staff, good food and ideal location to host several business meetings. Hope to return there sometime in future.

My stay was March 25th thru 31st and I have not received my Green Choice points even after complaining to the SPG Platinum Help Desk. I didn't receive service for the duration of my stay, collected my cards and provided them to the front desk at check out.
