Rated 5 out of 5 by EXCEPTIONAL First time in Florida,Coral Gables and this hotel,wasnt sure what to expect...The hotel is gorgeous,clean and have a good location.From the Valet(s)- staff are very nice and prompt.Check-in Desk-(Mr Valdez) is courteous,friendly and very accomodating,made us feel welcome.Concierge-(JOAQUIN)was exceptionally helpful,friendly,professional and full of knowledge of the areas.Housekeeping did a fantastic job on all days of our stay.Restaurant staff are friendly & attentive.Everyone i encountered had some personal touch of service,definitely made my stay wonderful.I will definitely be back at your gorgeous property with a smile !!! Rated 2 out of 5 by There are some issues here... Staff paid zero attention to busy talking to themselves. Asked Concierge for a local place that has a Sunday brunch - he responded , "you need a bus", I said no brunch, he said "brunch" after this went on for a few minutes he finally wanted me to go to a place 8 miles away - that's local? then he said another place 3 miles away. I walked away. He failed to mention that the property has a Sunday Brunch. //The A/C did not cool the room, I called twice, no one ever came up....The pools area lacks shade...forget about geting something to drink at the pool....when I checked out I was not asked how my stay was, nor thanked for staying....poor hotel standards.... Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has a great wedding facility The only thing that went wrong was we call for our car and when we went down 10 minutes later, we still had to wait 10 more minutes. We had a wedding to go. My daughter had a emergency earlier, and we arrived the check in clerk gave us upgrade room. That was excellent! November 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quick stop in Miami Stayed at the hotel for an overnight stay prior to a cruise. Planned to just use the hotel as a place to sleep but quickly realized the hotel had a lot to offer. Excellent location, nice pool area and most of all a great staff. I decided to get a rental car at the last minute and the concierge (Joaquin - who is fabulous) had one ordered and delivered in 10 minutes. (by the way, Enterprise Rent a Car was also great. Just call, they deliver and afterward leave with the valet in front. Super low hassle). Rooms were good and typically upscale Westin. Every staff person with whom I came in contact was great and accommodating. January 4, 2012

The room was exceptional and the location was near shops and restaurants. The buffet breakfast was great, and Front Office Manager Joshua was very friendly and had a great personality. We will definetly return to the Westin Coral Gables. October 13, 2012

Room was in excellent condition - spacious, bed was comfortable. Hotel was very clean. Would stay here again. Only negative was fee for internet in business center- $6/30 min. July 3, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed All about the small things. Started at check in when I wasn't asked what amenity I wanted since I was platinum . Then I was booked into a room with two queen beds even though I booked a king room. When I inquired they said I booked a handicapped accessible room although the room wasn't handicapped accessible . The hotel had decided before I checking in that I didn't need a handicapped room. I'm still confused on this one. Lots of small stains on the hallway carpet on here second floor. Terrible pillows, what happened to the westin bed? Yesterday's newspaper still out at 7 a the next morning and a restaurant that doesn't open for breakfast until 7. Lots of little things makes for a disappointing stay. November 21, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unique Experiences I was a guest at the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables for 2 nights, received my room key card for my room which I learned was the furthest room from the elevator on the floor. I ended up carrying all my luggage to try and open the door to find the key card or the door lock wasn’t allowing me access into the room. I had to walk all the way back to the elevator with all my luggage down to the main lobby. The front desk receptionist apologized and stating the keys work it must be the door lock and said she would give me an upgraded room for my troubles. I was assigned another room (which wasn’t an upgraded room, just closer to the elevator) to find I wasn’t the only guest in the room. I found a cockroach in the bathroom (I would have attached the picture of the guest who wasn’t paying but there isn't an option for it on this site). I was disgusted and didn’t want to stay in the room with a cockroach and informed the front desk of the matter. I had to gather my belongings and proceeded back to the main lobby AGAIN to receive yet another room assignment. I was assigned another room again. I left my room the next day and to return to find the door was left open! I was apprehensive to enter the room and didn’t know if anyone was hiding in the bathroom or the closet. I didn’t feel safe at all. I proceeded to check the closet and the bathroom to find no one. Luckily none of my work equipment or personal belongings were missing. There was an awful smell in the room of rotten food emanating from the refrigerator that was delivered. If I wasn’t so tired I would have requested a room change again but dealt with it by opening the windows. I called the front desk manager, and advised him of my door being left open. He stated my experience was a unique one and this never happens. It was nice that he compensated me with a room night but I don’t understand how this could happen at all! Instead of feeling like I was at a superior hotel I felt as if I was staying at a dirty cheap motel. Although the front desk staff and management were very quick to recover from the inconveniences of my stay, my stay at this hotel was by no means convenient and did not make me feel safe and did not meet my expectations of a Westin Hotel. I sent an email to the Manager to get at least an apology. Haven't heard back and I don't foresee him writing back. February 16, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by My Wedding Experience at the Colonnade My sister decided to have her wedding at the Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables a few weeks ago. The location is absolutely fantastic and the hotel is beautiful.I stayed at the hotel for 3 days. For such a popular hotel I was very displeased with my experience. My sister and her fiance spent thousands of dollars to hold their wedding at the hotel. Our Family and friends stayed as guests for the duration of the wedding celebrations as well. When I arrived to my room, the room looked clean but Smelled terrible. I didn't complain because I figured the smell would go away, but it did not. My mother and father, who like myself live in Miami, also rented a hotel room. Unlike myself though, they rented it for one night with the sheer purpose of having a place to leave their belongings. At around 12:30 am my mother wanted to take things up to the room and asked the front desk for help. The gentleman said there was no one to help her and didn't even attempt to think of a solution. My mother went to the front of the hotel, grabbed a luggage cart herself, and carried everything to the room. More than once we had the cleaning lady barge into the room when we were still in the room getting changed. The best was when my sister was changing from her Wedding dress and a gentleman just let himself into the room. Lucky for us she was staying in a two story room and we were upstairs so he didn't see her naked. When the day to leave came around, I called room service to see if someone could help me with our bags and a woman said she would transfer me. I got transferred to the kitchen. I got re-directed to the same woman who then hung up on me. I called again and she transferred me...yet again...to a gentleman. He told me he would call me right back. 1 hour later I finally decided to carry everything down myself. On top of all this, when it came time to pay for my bill, I realized I got overcharged. One of the over charges was for parking. My friend had parked her car for 1 night and paid in cash at the front. She told this to the front desk. He called the woman who was in charge of Valet and the two of them decided to continue arguing with us stating they had no "records" of my friend paying for valet because she paid cash up front. Instead of taking the customers work, we had to pay another $24 dollars for 1 day of parking. You would think that after the sum of money the hotel gained from the event $24 dollars wouldn't make that big of a difference. I've stayed at hotels all over the world and have never seen so many things go wrong during such a small time span. I found better customer service in Hostels. I understand misunderstandings happen, but this was a terrible experience. The customer service is absolutely poor. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. January 31, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Worse room I've ever stayed in We were given room 206 and this was the worse room I've ever stayed in, from any hotel chain. The Elevator was going all night long and all you could hear was the hydralic noises. It sounded like you were in a train station. This hotel should NEVER put anyone in that room if they are at all interested in cutomer satifaction, I'm can not believe that we could have been the only guests that complained about this room.. I will never go back all the guests in my party got little to no sleep the entire night. The desk associates seemed nice and the on roof pool was a nice addition, but not good enough to want me to return. They took 20.00 off the bill but that doen't make up for a night of no sleep for the 4 of us.. July 30, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Colonnade I live in Miami and booked this hotel stay as a perk to myself for the Holiday weekend and unfortunately it was not restful at all. I was in room 412. The doors to the rooms are very heavy and unless you close them with great care slam very loudly so unfortunately I was kept up all night and woke up very early with the noise of these slamming doors. I had requested a later check out and tried to get a nap in the early afternoon but even with the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, hotel staff came knocking! A very disappointing stay to say the least. December 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Staff!! Will stay again!! We chose to stay here because of the distance to UM Hospital. My father was having surgery due to cancer & had to explain this to a few staff member so my sister & I could check out his room & get his car from valet. The staff must have talked, because the day we checked out, both staff we had interacted with & hadn't ALL asked how our father was & how the surgery went, everyone stated that they were all thinking of him & were relieved everything went perfect! It was VERY touching & meant a lot!! They were so helpful & understanding! I will definately stay again just because of that! Your staff is AMAZING Colonnade! Thank you so much!! July 10, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor Experience Disappointed in our first stay at this Westin. At registration there was no recognition of my platinum status and room upgrade. The assigned room, 209, was in a high activity area. This room over looked a very noisy late night entertainment spot that didn't stop until early am. Rated 1 out of 5 by Nice people, terrible plumbing Sadly, as a loyal Westin fan nationally, I made a mistake with this one. For two nights my bathroom sink randomly "gurgled" loudly. Both days it woke me up by 5am, although the hotel "engineer" left me a message saying it was fixed. Seriously embarrassing when I was on conference call in my room. Also, and dangerous is the shower. When set to "cold" the water is still very, very hot. Anyway - great employees, but by inexpensive (well over $300 wasted over two nights) and has third world plumbing. September 10, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Attention to detail may need improvement... I stayed here 2 nights for business. Personally, I didn't feel recognized as a loyal Platinum guest at check in, and all the staff's attention went to the different events going on during my stay. My room door didn't close correctly, so nights were noisy due to the drunk people in the hotel (there was a wedding). This could be a great hotel, but the hotel rooms need to be refreshed and the staff should pay more attention to details. November 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegant surroundings; superior service Thank you for a lovely visit at your beautiful hotel. The facility's old world elegance blends perfectly with Coral Gables and Miami. Often, sophistication comes at the expense of genuine, friendly service. Not the case at this hotel! Everyone on the staff, from management to housekeeping, treated us as if we were house guests. And the Mother's Day brunch was sumptuous. Thank you for making our stay a very special experience. May 14, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disgusting Room I checked into the hotel on a Monday evening (giving the hotel staff all day to clean my room) and what I entered was NOT up to the Starwood quality. At 11PM I had to call down to housekeeping to have them clean my room, because there was chocolate smeared inside the sheets, Candy wrappers under the night stand, hair in the shower, and MOLD in the coffee maker as that had not been cleaned out for some time. Rated 2 out of 5 by The worst room i´ve ever stayed in In general, I didn´t feel appreciate as a SPG client since I should have priority in better rooms as I used to stay in that hotel at least 4 times in a Year. They gave me the worst room in the whole hotel. It wasn´t clean at all, it smelled horrible (humidity) and it was right behind the elevators. The noise was not standable. I´m assuming no one used that room for a long time since it wasn´t clean at all. July 19, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointment I reserved this room for my daughter and a couple of her friends as a special treat for her wedding shower. It was money that we had to save up because we did not get any special rates. The room was a townhouse and there were supposed to be accommodations for 3. When it was time for the girls to go to sleep, they found that there were no linens for the pull out coach. They called the front desk and were informed that they ran out of extra linens. How is a pull out couch an extra bed? How can we spend $380 on a hotel and not have clean linens available for accommodations that we paid for. I had to drive to the hotel to provide my daughter with linens. THIS was embarrassing and disappointing. I am so upset and sad that the Westin did not meet my expectations on such a special evening. I am so disappointed- I will share this experience with everyone I know. This was totally unacceptable! December 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A truly wonderful hotel I stayed in the two-level townhouse room here. It was fantastic with plenty of room, a fun spiral staircase, and a large bathroom. The proximity of the hotel to the bustling life of downtown Coral Gables is ideal. As soon as you exit the hotel, you're in the heart of the shopping and dining district. The hotel is immaculately kept up, fun to explore, easy to find, and worth coming back to. December 30, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Property needs some renovations Good location, friendly staff, acceptable accomodations, but bathrooms need to be updated - particularly the shower. I was in room 509 and most of the water went out the bottom faucet instead of the shower head despite repeated attempts to fix it. So the tub filled with water while trying to take a shower. Unacceptable to a frequent traveler, esp. given the cost of the room. September 22, 2013

The water was scalding hot ... could not even get cold water for brushing teether. Very loud ... must have had service room below us because late into the night the same door kept slamming, over and over. Could hear every peep outside our room. Rooms very small. April 4, 2012

Posted breakfast menu was unavailable, only buffet. Charged 18% gratuity for a BUFFET. Only thing waitress did was bring drinks....18% ???? Don't appreciate being take advantage of. June 10, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Looks like a Westin, Doesn't Feel Like One The staff at this Westin was incredible, but the facility was a bit lacking. The extra touches such as bathrobes were not there, the rooms were very damp, the AC didn't get very cold, the hot tub was as cold as the pool, the gym had no towels and was 76 degrees. The beds were also quite soft and I don't think they were "heavenly". August 30, 2012

The gym needed more air/fans but it didn't stop us from feeling like we had a good cardio workout....would we stay here again, definitely yes...points price is great!!! December 2, 2011

No empowerment....why should i have to call back.? I felt like a million dollar woman staying there. loved the staff uniform and the food??? out of this world specially their breakfast which I highly recommend and their turkey BLT sandwich! Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't recommend it the pool had cigarette butts in it. that was nasty. it was hot enough to go in but couldn't enjoy this feature due to the cigarette butts. there were also no towels to dry off and no one to ask for anything. we were 2 people and had only 1 bathrobe and not many towels either.
