I had a two-level unit overlooking the pool. The room itself was comfortable, and staff was quite responsive to requests. The bathroom was a bit cramped, and facilities a bit dated. The room faced Miracle Mile, and I could hear road noise inside the room, likely because of inadequate sound proofing. I also could hear music from the street. I had not encountered these issues on a previous stay in the same hotel (but a different room). All in all, I'll probably stay at the hotel again, but ask for a room that does not face Miracle Mile.

The hotel was easy to find and located just 15 minutes from the airport. The Westin offers valet parking and you can come in and out as often as you'd like, although it was pricier than I'd like. If you value convience over value then go for the valet parking, but if you value getting a bang for your buck just park on the street for a couple of dollars instead of $24-$26 for valet. The location is just walking distance from restaurants, I was so pleased to eat at 100 Montaditos! Just like in Spain!!
The food served in Westin seriously exceeded my expectations, the food we ordered for room service was fresh, texturally rich, and delicious! I wish I could eat this food everyday!! We had a suite and ate our meal on the roof, which overlooked the city. That alone was such an experience. The staff took care of our dishes we left outside. I really recommend this for couples because it feels so much more private than eating in the often crowded Sushi Samba, located on the ground floor.
The rooftop has a pool, heated pool, beautiful lounge area (which could use just a little bit of maintenance), and gorgeous view of the city. On an architectural standpoint it felt like we were in Madrid, Spain. I felt like we were truely on vacation, which was awesome.
The balcony king suite that we stayed in was simply immaculate. The house keeping really take their jobs seriously, from the crisp sheets to the floor. Being here made me feel I was home away from home. The way the suite was designed felt a bit separated in two since there was a flat screen tv by the bed and a flat screen tv by the couch, which is nice if a couple can't agree on one thing to view!
I loved Westin's Heavenly Spa products! Surely this detail is important to guests, it made me feel so refreshed after a day of traveling. The refreshments in our suite included Starbucks coffee and 2 bottles of water, that was a boost to our stay!
I truely enjoyed my stay at the Westin and will be returning to this hotel next time in Miami!!

When we arrived hotel, the man standing in front of hotel gave us the parking options, then, he stood there watching us to get the luggage cart, load luggage, pushed the cart across the street and into the first floor of hotel, no one was greeting us there, no sign to hotel lobby. I walked up to 2nd floor and found lobby there. Alright, checked in, got down, pulled the luggage cart into elevator, it's not moving, no slot to insert room key, just at this moment, the man in front of hotel came in and told us get to the lobby first. We were greeted by a hotel pro till we got to lobby again to use another elevator to our 5th floor room. The room has Westin quality but no mini refrigerator. It's ok, you can buy drinks in the lobby. However, we were waked up at about 8 am by a loud construction noise, which I believed it was not supposed to happen. From above experience, don't you think this is the Westin quality and their service need to be improved?

Amazing Corner unit. We had amazing views and left the windows open at night in order to let the natural light wake us up. At first I was concerned about the proximity to the elevators (which we did hear from our bathroom), but once you get inside the bed is far from the door so you don't hear much.

My only issue with the hotel is the shabbiness of the room. The staff were wonderful, the food was really good, and the hallways were remodeled, but the actual rooms were in desperate need of a refresh. The rooms had a terrible musty smell (I tried 4 different rooms and they all had this musty smell. I believe the smell was embedded in the carpet and drapes, so the only way to get rid of the smell would be to change all of the drapes and carpet in the rooms). The hotel was very close to work, and I'm normally a Starwood loyalists, but I could not tolerate the smell in the rooms so much that I switched hotels in my last week in the area. Additionally, the furniture was worn, dirty in appearance, and in need of replacement. Lastly, the hotel had an ant problem (there were ants in the conference rooms and in the hotel rooms).

We had low expectations for this hotel, and it even fell below that.
Between the constant noise from both within the hotel and early beeping from the street, we were robbed of any night's rest. In addition, maid service was inconsistent and didn't even come one day.
There are no SPG perks at this hotel, and it was insulting that as an SPG member we would be put in such a terrible spot in the hotel.
We will never stay at this hotel again and have even discussed canceling our SPG number due to our experience. This hotel could not even provide the basic amenities standard at any level hotel.

Our experience at the Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables, FL. was just fabulous!!!! The beds are so comfortable, our room was bigger than normal size and it was so quiet in our room, yet the hotel was packed with people since there was a wedding that weekend. We had a beautiful room that faced the white outdoor furniture. Room 234. You felt like you were at some Caribbean Resort on the beach. Beyond that a gorgeous view of the city. To the left a very inviting pool. Humberto, one of the concierge told us about a great restaurant called Ladorada within walking distance and it was probably one of the best restaurants we've ever been to.

We were really disappointed in this Westin. Each night of our stay there were weddings in the hotel. To enter the hotel we had to step over/around cigarette butts and trash, which remained there, unswept throughout the entire weekend of our visit. On Friday night we had to step around vomit to get into the Sushi Samba restaurant located in the lobby of the hotel. The room itself was only moderately clean and had terrible ventilation, we were all coughing and clearing our throats all weekend, and the room smelled musty. This hotel was simply not worth the price we paid and certainly did not live up to what we have come to expect from Westin. I am a UM parent and frequently visit Coral Gables, I will definitely seek alternative accomodations next time.
