Rated 3 out of 5 by Bards Accomodations need an up lift.
My room on the SPG floor was in disrepair and worn. Broken toilet handle that I fixed myself repeatedly. The bath tub was pitted. The cold and hot water controls did not function properly. Other than the bed the room was well below average. The pool area had old stained and ripped lounge chair cushions. Clean pool towels had permanant stains on them. This is a hotel that needs an uplift very badly. The good part was the staff's attention towards the guests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nprvl Another return visit to Westin Aruba
Our most recent stay was 9 - 15 March. We keep on returning to the Westin because we love the location, the view, the amenities, and the Westin service we are accustomed to as Starwood Platinum members. Rooms are comfortable, spacious, and very clean. Westin still pampers us with little touches like evening turn down service. And of course we look forward to sleeping in the Westin heavenly bed! Plenty of pool and ocean side palapa's to lounge under all day. Tons of international guests pretty much guarantee we will make a friend or two from somewhere new every visit. And the hotel location is about a 5 minute walk from the heart of the action in Palm Beach.
The building is not brand new, though it is very clean and very well maintained inside and out. Every return trip we notice improvements and upgrades.
Was our stay perfect? Pretty much! We did have one unfortunate, minor problem and what was important to us was not so much the problem, rather how staff handled it... and the staff bent over backwards even late on a Sunday to correct it for us immediately!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrsKB Going back for the THIRD time!
This will be our 6th trip to Aruba. My husband and I are on our way back to the Aruba Westin Resort for our third stay. Needless to say, we have been very pleased with the accomodations and positive staff interactions. The staff are very nice, helpful, and friendly. The last time we arrived there, we were even greeted with a "welcome back!" We also met with the General Manager, Mr. Roy because we had a couple of issues that arose, and he took excellent care of us - which is why we are returning to them for a third stay. 5 more days until we arrive in Aruba...we are SO EXCITED! We will let you know how it went, upon our return...

Rated 3 out of 5 by ts06928 Great location! That's it ...
I've been to many hotels in tropical zones but never ever found such many lizards living in the hotel especially capture pool side.
Sorry - if I need to meet the wildlife I'd gone to zoo not to the resort. It was one of the worst experience at Starwood chain :(
Wifi drops, waves, crashes - do not even try if you've got any important job (like flight check-in)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Patrick99 A great stay, even when free!
I used my SPG points to book a weekend for my partner to visit an old friend of ours. When I booked the room, the hotel was a Cat 5, and it cost 12,000 points per night. A week before the check-in, I realized they were going for 10,000 and it was not a Cat 4. Not sure why the downgrade, as I love this hotel, but a simple phone call got my points adjusted so I saved.
Upon my partner's check-in they were upgraded to an oceanfront junior suite on a high floor. They were so excited! The concierge gave them some tips for driving around the island and they certainly enjoyed the onsite bars/restaurants.
They can't wait to go back, and hopefully my schedule will allow me to as well!
Thanks so much for making this a great weekend away for them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Disappointed Not disappointed at all!
I was a little leery about our family vacation based on some of the reviews I'd read here and on Trip Advisor. I'm happy to say that my concerns were unfounded. This resort was fine in all respects. The 4 rooms we occupied were all in excellent condition. The staff was helpful and considerate. Food was generally acceptable to hotel standards.Excellent Margaritas! Fortunately, the only complaint anyone in my family could muster was the cards dealt at the casino were terrible - maybe they can work on that for our next trip!

Rated 4 out of 5 by JTisQD Dated but a Wonderful Stay
After reading all the reveiws regarding the hotel, especially from fellow SPG members, I was very concerned with my upcoming stay. I reached out to the management about a month before my arrival and recieved a reply email addressing my concerns honestly with an assurance they would do everything they could to make my stay enjoyable. They did not disappoint. We arrived at the hotel about 2 hours before check in time, our room was not ready, however the front desk lady gave us a drink vouchers for the bar, we were able to check our bags and enjoy some cocktails by the pool - on the house, the best kind. As a platinum member we were upgraded to an ocean front suite, fantastic view, the bathroom was fantastic, large, dual sinks, seperate marble shower, etc. We opted for the free continental breakfast in lieu of the points, a decent breakfast with drinks, fruit and various muffins/pastries each morning. We stayed on the beach as you can find a pool most anywhere, plenty of chairs to be had every day, although finding shade was a premium, you can reserve/rent a tiki hut the day before, a bit of a wait to do so, but well worth it if you plan to be out all day. You can do some decent snorkeling just outside the ropes by a small rock/reef, many different colorful fish to see. Every single employee we encountered were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
I will say the accomodations were not up to the typical Westin standard I am accustomed to, HOWEVER, that being said you should know the hotel is one of the oldest, it is almost 45 years old, yes it has popcorn ceilings, yes the carpets are worn and have some tears in places, however it is clean, we had no maintenance issues, the staff was outstanding, the grounds, pool, beach, restaraunts, fitness, lobby etc were spotless. If you are coming to Aruba to be in your room and look at the ceiling or slightly damaged carpet I think you are missing out on what should be a great vacation. The hotel is also within walking distance of the shops, restaraunts and night life, but far enough away you don't hear or have to "deal" with any of it.
If you are looking for the white glove experience you will probably be disappointed in some aspects of the interior of your room and the hallways, but if you can handle a few imperfections for a beautiful location and experience then I highly recommend this hotel.
