Rated 3 out of 5 by Accomodations need an up lift. My room on the SPG floor was in disrepair and worn. Broken toilet handle that I fixed myself repeatedly. The bath tub was pitted. The cold and hot water controls did not function properly. Other than the bed the room was well below average. The pool area had old stained and ripped lounge chair cushions. Clean pool towels had permanant stains on them. This is a hotel that needs an uplift very badly. The good part was the staff's attention towards the guests. April 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS FAR FAR EXCEEDED EXPECTIONS This hotel is incredible. Everyone has far exceeded a 5 star expectation. My room, all the services are fantastic? I want to share an experience I had - so you will see what kind of property this is. One day my daughter and I went down to the beach. I had forgot something so I went back into my room. I went to the safe to retrieve something and I could not get the safe open. I was going to call and see what happened. I noticed the message light on the phone. The message left was that when the maid came to clean my room she fouund the safe open. Apparently it is hotel policy that the maid checks the safe first. If it is locked she can proceed to clean the room. If the safe is open she has to call security - who thens comes up and secures it . Only after security locks the safe - then she can clean. What an amazing policy. To stay at this resort knowing their security policy - I expect to tell all my acquaintances - Besides all the fantastic accomodations and safety procedures - hands down - there is no better choice in Aruba than the Westin Aruba. The best part of this I have one more day at this "FANTASTIC" property! May 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Another return visit to Westin Aruba Our most recent stay was 9 - 15 March. We keep on returning to the Westin because we love the location, the view, the amenities, and the Westin service we are accustomed to as Starwood Platinum members. Rooms are comfortable, spacious, and very clean. Westin still pampers us with little touches like evening turn down service. And of course we look forward to sleeping in the Westin heavenly bed! Plenty of pool and ocean side palapa's to lounge under all day. Tons of international guests pretty much guarantee we will make a friend or two from somewhere new every visit. And the hotel location is about a 5 minute walk from the heart of the action in Palm Beach. The building is not brand new, though it is very clean and very well maintained inside and out. Every return trip we notice improvements and upgrades. Was our stay perfect? Pretty much! We did have one unfortunate, minor problem and what was important to us was not so much the problem, rather how staff handled it... and the staff bent over backwards even late on a Sunday to correct it for us immediately! Rated 5 out of 5 by Going back for the THIRD time! This will be our 6th trip to Aruba. My husband and I are on our way back to the Aruba Westin Resort for our third stay. Needless to say, we have been very pleased with the accomodations and positive staff interactions. The staff are very nice, helpful, and friendly. The last time we arrived there, we were even greeted with a "welcome back!" We also met with the General Manager, Mr. Roy because we had a couple of issues that arose, and he took excellent care of us - which is why we are returning to them for a third stay. 5 more days until we arrive in Aruba...we are SO EXCITED! We will let you know how it went, upon our return... November 25, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by A great stay, even when free! I used my SPG points to book a weekend for my partner to visit an old friend of ours. When I booked the room, the hotel was a Cat 5, and it cost 12,000 points per night. A week before the check-in, I realized they were going for 10,000 and it was not a Cat 4. Not sure why the downgrade, as I love this hotel, but a simple phone call got my points adjusted so I saved. Upon my partner's check-in they were upgraded to an oceanfront junior suite on a high floor. They were so excited! The concierge gave them some tips for driving around the island and they certainly enjoyed the onsite bars/restaurants. They can't wait to go back, and hopefully my schedule will allow me to as well! Thanks so much for making this a great weekend away for them! March 19, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great location! That's it ... I've been to many hotels in tropical zones but never ever found such many lizards living in the hotel especially capture pool side. Sorry - if I need to meet the wildlife I'd gone to zoo not to the resort. It was one of the worst experience at Starwood chain :( Wifi drops, waves, crashes - do not even try if you've got any important job (like flight check-in) May 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing hotel on one happy island! This was my first trip to Aruba. The staff was wonderful, the hotel was great, and I will return! We checked in just after 4pm. Check-in did take a long time comparable to other Westin properties, but I quickly learned that things go on a very different pace in Aruba (as in the rest of the Caribbean as well). I recieved a platinum upgrade to an oceanfront suite on a very high floor. I had requested a mini-fridge in advance, and it was there. It was an amazing room (although the pullout sofa was not very comfortable). I did find the drinks in the bars to be expensive, especially for the size of the drinks, but that is not uncommon in resorts. It also found the beach to be somewhat crowded (even in what is considered to be the low season) so I can imagine reserving chairs in advance in the higher seasons would be required. Internet was VERY slow and unreliable. I was on vacation, but I needed to send in some video files for an event back home. Unfortunatly, even though I paid for the higher speeds, I was unable to do it. The service was slow and spoty. I was rarely able to get a connection in my room. The valet parking is not really necessary as there was plenty of parking in the parking lot I saw, and I waited as long as 30 minutes for my car to be retrieved at times. At one time, I waited 20 minutes for the valet to come out to park my car, which caused some issues with others trying to get into and passed the front doors. There were some very upset taxi drivers. The casino was great! Staff was fun and friendly, and Didi remembered my drinks for my entire stay, so as soon as I sat down at a table, she saw me and brought over my regular drink. That is service! Upon checkout, I was emailed my final bill so I realized I was charged for internet, even though I should not have. When I stopped at the desk to check-out, it was quickly taken care of. I had comps from the Casino, but the desk agent the night before was not at her post in the Casino so I was unable to get my comp credit for checkout. The manager on duty at the front desk took my casino card, and promised to have it applied when the casino oppened and would apply it. He did, as when I got home I found an email with an updated bill with a $40 credit. That is what I call service. Despite a few minor issues, it was an amazing location and the staff certainly made up for it and made every attempt to solve issues. I cannot wait to come back! November 6, 2012
