Rated 4 out of 5 by expensive but poor accommodation We thoroughly enjoyed Westin Hotel and Fiji except for our accommodation. We stayed in an Ocean Front Room (expensive cost) for 5 nights. We found the airconditioner which we switched on low to be extremely loud. We turned it off and wanted to put the ceiling fan on. The fan did not work and had to be replaced. We had no hot water on our last 3 nights, and also one of those nights we had NO WATER at all for 3-4 hours, having to use the toilet in the lobby area. What upset me the most was it was my wife's 40th birthday during the stay at the Westin. I was not impressed at all with the quality (or lack of)of accommodation. Upon complaining on checkout we were discounted $100 Fiji money from our bill. Considering our inconveniences throughout our stay I believed this amount was minimal at the least. June 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Hotel has great features I have just come back from a 7 day holiday at the Westin Denarau Resort and Spa Fiji, and I can honestly say it was on of the most relaxing holiday I have had in a long time! The staff couldn't be more helpful..they are friendly and nothing is a trouble to them! I will definitely be going back there! June 12, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ripp Off Ripp off The Westin is a great hotel except its prices in particular the steak house are unreasonable and a rip off. Further to this the Australian manager is rude and arrogant. The Fijian staff are great and can't be faulted. The staff if the general store however are extremely rude and the fact you pay $13 Fijian for a packed of red rock chips is a disgrace. I don't mind paying fair and reasonable prices but not being priced gouged because I am staying in an island resort. I complained and asked to speak to the general manager who apparently was to busy with travel agents escorting them around to discuss my issues. May 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Short break Westin Denarau is in a great location, right beside two other resorts with many pool, bar, dining choices, and the marina. Gymn is well equipped and well located. Breakfast is very good, and the lunch choices range from poolside to cafes to restaurant style. Day trips are easy, with all offshore options within walking distance of hotel. Great spot and clean and modern, served by relaxed friendly people. June 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very pleasant Bring black out mask (like those you get on planes) because there's no curtains (just shutters) and it's very bright. When having drinks poolside, be sure to ensure your server is being served from the Meke Lounge rather than the Steakhouse as you will be charged more for the same drink from the Steakhouse Bring your own conditioner, the one provided is no good Don't be fooled by the spa... looks lovely but the water is freezing cold Otherwise very enjoyable stay. Rated 1 out of 5 by A bit dissapointing Room was garden view. Arrived to find no towels at pool, rude service, made us get towels from our room hotel. Brought meal voucher prior to arrival, which was confirmed on check in, but no record at resturant, made us go back to room and find it, all on my wifes 40th Birthday dinner. very unhelpful and rude. dirty fork on table for dinner. Walls paper thin, couldnt sleep with neighbours noise, staff reluctant to put bus tickets on room, preferred cash all the time, the staff where the biggest dissapointment, appart from one on reception they we all very non engaging and did not make you feel that welcome. It was a big and expensive trip for us and we left very dissapointed. Issues aired, but no one seemed that bothered. May 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great place to stay Our first holiday away with our 8 month old boy. Last week of July 2012, weather was great about 30 degrees and sunny every day. A great time to go as the resort(s) weren't busy. Arrived Nadi airport and traveled to the Westin with a TTF transfer which only took about 30 mins (booked online). Check-in was fast and easy. We asked if the Cot was in the room and they said it would be shortly. We were taken to our room via a "golf buggy" vehicle. Within 10 mins reception phoned to ask if we were happy with our room (ocean view). We mentioned we were still waiting on the cot (arrived in the next 10 mins). Room was great, clean, plenty of room, a/c can stay on when you leave, bath/shower room was a "wet room". A shower curtain around the bath but not the shower! Buffet breakfast was great, lots of hot/cold options for all, including our little boy. Moo Moo restaurant was great, reasonably priced for a resort plus 20% discount if you ate between 6-7pm (plus while we were there, kids meals were free). As the neighboring Sheraton(s) are also ran by Starwood you can use their facilities and dine at their restaurants (and charge to your room). I would recommend making reservations if eating at any of the resort restaurants. We also ate at the Denarau Port where there are about 6 or so restaurants and are cheaper than the resorts. Taxi from the resort is 5 FJD each way. There is also a small supermarket at the Port. All the staff were so friendly especially with our little boy, each day many would greet him by name; our little boy loved them all. The cleaning staff were great, our little boy was sick on our bed just after they had made our room, within a few minutes she was back and changed our bed again. Pools were great, Westin had a great toddlers pool which our son loved, there was plenty of space to lounge around in the sun. Plus you also have the option of using the other Sheraton pools (about 3 to 6 min walk along the waterfront). There isn't much of a beach at the Westin and probably wouldn't want to swim in the ocean there, but they do offer a free water taxi out to the nearby island which has a beach and cleaner water. As we had our little boy with us we didn't do any day trips this time. We would love to book our next holiday here! May 11, 2012
