Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing management and staff Keeping this short, the management of the hotel (Jana and her team) were simply first class - the best of any anywhere in the world and I stay in hotels two or three times a month. The only downside is that the hotel needs refurbishment in some areas e.g. the bathrooms, the restaurant areas and some perimeter buildings. Things not in control of the staff. In addition the Wi-Fi was poor and would be difficult for business people to communicate on conference calls etc. November 2, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Langkawi holiday Unfortunately my first impression of the hotel was not great due to the fact that our room was not ready and we were unable to check in until 5pm (check in time is 3pm) as our room was still occupied. The receptionist was very apologetic and did give us a 50% discount for lunch and a complimentary massage for my husband and I (which by the way was fantastic). The hotels outlook is absolutely breathtaking and the buffet breakfast is to die for. October 22, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great staff and service We arrive around noon time when the suite is not ready yet (upgrade for Platinum member). The reception already prepared another regular room for our temporary use before suite ready in the evening. Complimentary wine and snacks are also provided in the room which really made us feel like VIP. Housekeeping lady also prepared a surprise in our room which really made our day. October 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location Westin was just wonderful. They treat you as VIP if you are SPG members. Beach wasn't so pleasant however it's great location to walk around and buy really great deal of duty free staffs. All local staffs are extremely friendly and they like to accommodate you. Slightly disappointed that Western ladies work there are quite rude. That is only minus points. I can highly recommend Westin in Langkawi. October 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Luxury and nature We spent 5 days in Ocean-front Suite (151 sqm) on the second floor. The sute was just fantastic. Each room had TV. Table for 4 surrounded by windows from 2 sides in dining room and comfortable coach with fruit-table for evening relax in living room. Wonderful big bed with small coach. Big bathroom with 2 sinks, tube and shower and separate specious cloakroom, thus much place too unpack your whole collection of shoes, shirts, pants and dresses. Wonderful spacious terrace with table for 4 and sitting place for sunbathing with amazing view on the sea! September 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel for relaxing Checked in to Westin Langkawi for a weekend getaway with my husband over the long weekend holiday. There were a few negative I would like to highlight but I will start with the positive first. Positive: Nice refurbished rooms, above average breakfast, warm and welcoming ambience at the lobby, Just Heavenly Spa ambience and service was perfect. Lush greeneries, nice pools and Just Heavenly beds were very comfortable. Near to Kuah town which made shopping convenient. Negative: Staff was not really attentive. Even though they did their job however we felt that what was lacking was a smile or greetings from staff. We even had to carry our own luggage into our car at the lobby because there was one staff at the concierge but he pretended not to notice us as we were struggling with luggage. Upon checking in to our rooms (we booked a premium ocean view king sized bed room), we were told that they did not have a king sized bed and only had twin beds. We requested for king sized and was told there were no more available rooms so we checked into the room and because it was a weekend getaway with my husband, we were not happy with twin beds. At the room, I called the reception and requested for them to check if I could change rooms the next day. I was told by another staff at reception that there is actually one room available with king sized bed on that day! Why was I not offered that room in the first place? At the "bikini friendly" bar (at the pool), I had asked for a menu to order a drink and the staff had snootily requested for me to wipe my hands dry before handing me to menu. I did not care for his attitude and he also showed me an expression as if to imply that the drink I ordered would be too strong for me. I have stayed in several Starwood hotels and am slightly disappointed with the staff in this hotel however it is still a very nice and relaxing hotel to stay at. The beach is not one of the best in the island however the hotel made it up by offering many nice pools instead. The gym is also quite well equipped. Overall, I left the hotel happy and relaxed. Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel Breakfast at this hotel was excellent. We were both pleasantly surprised by the huge breakfast buffet spread and good quality food and drinks that included Prosecco - what an indulgence! Service at the restaurant and front desk was also excellent - staff were highly attentive, friendly and helpful. Service at the Concierge was not quite so friendly - no smiles when we asked for help to book taxis, in fact, one of them looked downright surly. Room was nice although bathroom was a little basic. We liked the heavenly bed and slept like babies both nights we were there. The strange thing was that only 1 bathrobe was provided during our stay there - I'd have expected 2 bathrobes for the both of us. The other thing I liked about the hotel was the 3 swimming pools available for guests. The rock pool and infinity pools were very nice. September 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by recent holiday My wife and i have just finished our stay at the Westin Langkawi.We would like to mention the friendly and helpful receptionist Cornelia who made our stay more enjoyable.Also the room servicing by Mariam was just excellent.We enjoyed the breakfast choices and found the staff of the restaurant most obliging. Rated 5 out of 5 Great service & unforgettable experience The hotel's facilities were great. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly as the resort is peaceful (although it's during the peak period with a lot of guests) as it's surrounded with nature. We stayed in the Deluxe Room. The room is clean and cosy but what earned it brownie points was our balcony view. Our room was facing the resort's green landscape, water feature and the beautiful infinity pool. The staff was friendly and they greeted us wherever we went. Very attentive too especially the front desk reception and the concierge service. They made sure that we enjoyed our stay and always on their toes to serve us. There are a few minor improvements I feel that the hotel should work on:- 1. Check in time - I was not informed anywhere that the check in time is at 3pm. This could be avoided, if our Agoda Booking Slip display this information. We arrived at 1pm and our room was not ready. Thankfully the frontdesk reception was quick and offered us a complimentary drinks @ Breeze. That was a really nice touch. 2. Bathtub in Deluxe Room is too small. My fiance is 5 feet 11 and he seems squashed in that small bathtub. 3. There was an evening function by the infinity pool. The staff started clearing the sun loungers around us @5.30pm onwards. I felt that we've been chased away as the infinity pool was now surrounded by banquet staff setting up dinner tables & chairs,etc around the pool area. My enjoyment at the pool was shortlived. Perhaps a simple notice to inform the guests that there'll be a pool function much earlier? 4. The beach was a letdown especially during low tide after sunsets. I lost my slippers when walking on the murky sands. Fortunately, the sweeping view of the surrounding islands was a saving grace. 5. Check out time is at 12pm. We're sad to have to leave so soon since we've booked for only 1Night stay. Checking in at 3pm & checking out at 12pm gave us shorter time to enjoy the hotel's facilities. We are grateful to the frontdesk that allowed us to extend our stay for 1 more hour. We thank you again. 6. Limited DVDs for loan. It may be because the hotel was running on full occupancy that's why I'm left with not much choices for great movies. But nevertheless, this can be improvised. 7. There's ants in our room (near where the kettle is placed). It's a small problem but can be addressed. 8. The Heavenly Spa body treatments are tad overpriced. Having working experience in a spa company myself, it'll be very encouraging if the prices for body massages are capped at RM250 for 1.5hr before any in-house discounts. For facials, anything above RM300 is really overpriced at 1.5hrs unless exclusive salon professional products with special machines are used. Really hope you are able to revise the pricing. Perhaps some treatments at reasonable prices whereas the higher ones for body rituals. Prices like these are a huge setbacks for local guests. August 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful place to holiday The refurbished rooms were lovely, bright spacious and the beds were wonderful! The service was very friendly and promt. the pools were fantastic, the grounds beautiful and the buffet breakfast was amazing - we were spoilt for choice. My only disappointing experience was the spa. I had a Malay massage which was brilliant and a foot scrub. I asked if I could also have my toe nails painted - just for nail polish applied to my toe nails I was charged an extra 50 ringit which is outrageous! So expensive, I could have bought 25 bottles of nail polish for that price, I feel ripped off and it soured my experience. Ive been to many exclusive Spas around the world. I would highly recommend the hotel but I would NOT recommend the spa as it is way over priced August 3, 2013

My company held a conference at this facility and the staff worked very hard to meet all of our extended needs and ongoing requests. (Thank you for all of the help and assistance!) Restaurant : "Breeze", food good but service not at the top as we waited a long time before being served. They came with the side orders ( French fries ) when we were eating the desert... Rated 5 out of 5 by Spoilt and looked after everywhere in this resort Where do I start? The day we arrived and were taken to an upgraded room (free) as a surprise. We were simply floored when we walked in to the "Royal Suite", which was to be our home for the week. This, wow, wow! The room itself, to the massive bathroom and the huge balcony to stand on and admire the view of a great part of the resort and the beach. The swimming pools....beautiful! The food, especially the great yummy choices for breakfast, through to the cocktails we drank in the evening. Dining down at the "Tide" was beautiful one evening, while watching the sunset. Staff were so friendly and willing to assist with any thing required. My husband and I had a, these ladies down at the Heavenly Spa are fantastic with their expertise in massage. Concierge....these guys are great to interact with, as well as asking them to do their job for us as well. The "Breeze" lounge......the best place to chill...yet again the "view" being the pinnacle of this place along with a cocktail in hand. If you want the best for your holiday to Langkawi......This place has it all and is not far from the town of Kuah...for shopping and viewing the big eagle. Thank you Westin......beautiful! Rated 4 out of 5 by Slight disappointment in room TV and express service I was staying in room 1221, I was truly disappointed with the TV, all the channels were fuzzy and not clear. I stayed there for 6 days and I felt that this is the basic facility that should be working fine. I had to called 4 times before they sent the engineer over and still not able to fix the problem until I check out. Rated 4 out of 5 by Westin Langkawi saved my weekend! Thanks to the Westin langkawi, my weekend getaway with the family was brilliant despite a horrendous start. We had actually booked a room at another Starwood hotel on langkawi island. Supposedly 5 star and well recommended on the website. We arrived and to our horror it was nothing like what we expected. There was poor service from the time we arrived, we were asked to get to our romms on a lorry modified as a shuttle bus (i am 5 months pregnant and that ride made me feel like i was about to give birth!) . The area was infested with monkeys and mosquitoes, it had rubbish everywhere! There was a monitor lizard sunbathing by the pool! We immediately checked out and headed to the Westin. Thankfully there were rooms available, My family and i had been to the Westin Langkawi before and we knew we would have an enjoyable weekend once we were there. Its really family friendly, warm and has the best facilities for a comfortable break away from home. Well Done Westin.! I shall be returning soon. June 17, 2013
