Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Downtown Hotel! Before I even got to the door, I was greeted by Hershal. He was very accommodating. He quickly assisted me with my luggage and asked if I had stayed at The Westin previously. I told him this was my first time in Detroit, and he offered to assist me with finding things to do. He gave me directions to the front desk, which would have otherwise been a little hard to find. Bianca checked me in and out. She was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the hotel and restaurants. My room was beautiful and a lot larger than I expected. Everything was neat and clean. the decor of the hotel was breathtaking. The view from my room wasn't great, but the room and service made up for it. I was there to explore the city, so I was okay with not having a great view. I was told that 24 Grille was the place to be in downtown. I visited a few times, and Josh at the bar was awesome! He was friendly and very responsive, as was the entire restaurant staff. There were always cabs outside, and the hotel is in great proximity to restaurants and bars, which I appreciated since I didn't rent a car. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and encouraged my friends to stay at The Westin Book Cadillac as well. I'll definitely be back! July 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Overnight trip My 5 year old son and I stayed here to attend a WWE Raw shoe at the Joe Louis Arena. Although not the typical guests the staff went out of their way to make my son feel comfortable. From the front desk to coffee shop and valet everyone had smiles on there face and greeted us. Asad at Valet service was excellent he spoke to us about the event and was super friendly while helping with our bags.Great jo Asad and Westin July 14, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Turned out ok We were put in a dark small room and paying more for it than if we booked it online . The front desk people had no idea what they were doing and would not help me. After speaking with the manager ,who was wonderful, we were able to switch rooms. I expected better service than we received. July 5, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect downtown location I grew up in Detroit and return for the Movement festival annually. I could easily stay with family in the suburbs but proximity is key over the busy Memorial Day weekend. I have stayed at several other downtown hotels in the past, but this was my first stay at the Book Cadillac. Upon check-in I was immediately recognized as a SPG member and offered a room upgrade. The room was clean, brightly lit, and had incredible views of GM building, the riverfront, and Windsor. It was about a 10 minute walk to Cobo/Hart Plaza/riverfront. Despite all the dining choices within walking distance/short cab ride, we checked out Roast and it happened to be happy hour. Half price cocktails and bar menu...a Michael Symon burger for $6 ?!?!?! Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing in many ways Despite making advanced reservations and calling on the day of our arrival, when we checked in to the hotel at 6:15 p.m., we were informed that there was no King bed room available for my wife and I. The hotel indicated that we could have a room with two separate beds. That was unacceptable. Then, we were offered a handicap accessible room, and no others. We agreed but were immediately told that someone else booked it just "moments ago". This forced the hotel to find another solution, so reluctantly, we were allowed to stay on the concierge floor. The room was fine. However, when we tried to eat breakfast as part of the offer, there was no oatmeal, eggs, waffles, or coffee left. We asked for some coffee, and were told "I'll get to it, but I'm busy right now" from the staff member assigned to the food. Her supervisor finally came in and apologized. Obviously, we ate elsewhere. And, not to forget about parking, we had to stand in a line of more than thirty cars when we first arrived. There was an insufficient number of valet parking attendants and no self park. The self park lot was full. For a Westin, this hotel seemingly lacks good management. April 18, 2016
