Rated 5 out of 5 by The Class of Detroit Hotels This place is nice. The building has the classic old hotel feel. I arrived when it was busy and the lines moved quickly. My room was large and modern with a view of the river. Staff was helpful and willing to accommodate special requests. The club lounge is small but adequate with great views. I ate at Roast in the basement which is a top shelf steakhouse. Be aware that the valets take about 20 minutes to get your car when its busy. This isn't terrible and they had signs indicating this was a due to construction. October 12, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Noisy room, limited customer service My room crackled and popped all night, and it was nearly impossible to sleep. It seems there was a water heater or water line in the wall, and the resulting noise made sleep difficult. I was willing to overlook this because the bed, toiletries and other amenities were excellent. The hotel staff's phone operators lack courtesy, however, and were unwilling to assist me when I called to ask for a copy of my receipt for tax purposes. Needless to say, I will not stay here again. Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful Room Maybe I got lucky because I'm a Starwood regular... But my room was huge. Shockingly huge. And the bathroom had a window. When was the last time I saw that? If I'm ever back I would request that same room. The 05 tier if you're curious. September 30, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible I was so annoyed with this hotel from the start. when I checked in as a platinum member, I simply asked if I could be extended for an additional night. Rudely they dismissed me as being so fully booked the next day that I shouldn't even try to extend. There was no mention of a club Lounge in the hotel, even though one existed. The staff were rude unaccommodating, and every time I tried to engage with the staff to even get on the waitlist for the next day, they were rude and unhelpful. September 27, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by SPG Loyalty Doesn't Matter at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit You would think when someone spends every Monday - Thursday in the same hotel, the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit every week for over a year that their SPG Platinum Preferred Status would be recognized when your ambassador forgets to make a reservation for you one week. Instead the manager says their isn't anything they can do, but not only does the SPG app and my ambassador say they can get me in the next two nights at least. Obviously, my SPG loyalty and staying at your hotel every week means nothing to you or the manager would have been able to help me. Hopefully the Aloft Manager down the street is more understanding especially for frequent travelers. Then I log onto the internet to be charged $7.95 when it is FREE for platinum. I am usually not one to complain because I am pretty easy going, but this situation definitely made me feel unappreciated and feel like I should take my long term business somewhere else. But hopefully they will be able to extend my reservation and not kick me out on Thursday, we shall see or I will definitely not be back to this hotel. Other than this situation, most of the hotel staff are very nice and friendly so it does make for an enjoyable stay. September 26, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Downtown Hotel! Before I even got to the door, I was greeted by Hershal. He was very accommodating. He quickly assisted me with my luggage and asked if I had stayed at The Westin previously. I told him this was my first time in Detroit, and he offered to assist me with finding things to do. He gave me directions to the front desk, which would have otherwise been a little hard to find. Bianca checked me in and out. She was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the hotel and restaurants. My room was beautiful and a lot larger than I expected. Everything was neat and clean. the decor of the hotel was breathtaking. The view from my room wasn't great, but the room and service made up for it. I was there to explore the city, so I was okay with not having a great view. I was told that 24 Grille was the place to be in downtown. I visited a few times, and Josh at the bar was awesome! He was friendly and very responsive, as was the entire restaurant staff. There were always cabs outside, and the hotel is in great proximity to restaurants and bars, which I appreciated since I didn't rent a car. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and encouraged my friends to stay at The Westin Book Cadillac as well. I'll definitely be back! July 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Overnight trip My 5 year old son and I stayed here to attend a WWE Raw shoe at the Joe Louis Arena. Although not the typical guests the staff went out of their way to make my son feel comfortable. From the front desk to coffee shop and valet everyone had smiles on there face and greeted us. Asad at Valet service was excellent he spoke to us about the event and was super friendly while helping with our bags.Great jo Asad and Westin July 14, 2016
