This hotel exceeded our expectations - well appointed rooms, large pool (with lifeguard!), warm and inviting lobby. The shuttle to/from Dulles is efficient and well worth making it a stop over before a flight.

I checked in the 24th of April for a one night stay. I was given an incorrect dress from SPG . I went to that hotel an tried to check in was completely embarrassed that there was no reservation. They then told me that it was at the Dulles Westin they printed out directions with no address. I went to my car I then had to go back an ask for the address an none of the staff knew the address.I then had to drive another 10 minutes to the correct hotel. I got there checked in , when we got to the room the refrigerator was not working properly an I had to call maintenance. In the morning were packing up to check out an I found broken plastic cups an rotting banana chunks under the television stand. Very unhappy with stay.

I honestly didn't have any expectations for this place since this was a short 1 night business related stay. But this had to be one of the most pleasant SPG properties I've stayed in for its category. Considering the number of SPG properties I've stayed in across the country, that's a huge compliment to this hotel. Staff were highly responsive and friendly, I'd question anyone complaining about their workout facilities, I enjoyed the dinner and service provided at Padella and appreciated the spotless and quiet room I was given overlooking the lake. Thank you for providing a great and calming experience after a hectic and short business trip to DC.

I have stayed at the Westin Washington Dulles Airport several times and it is the excellent staff and very good condition of the hotel that makes it easy to select this property when I travel to northern Virginia.
The front desk staff is always friendly and efficient. Rooms are always spotless and I have never had a housekeeping issue. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to select a room on the lake side. If you are an aviation nut, you can watch countless United 777s taking of for Europe from the western side of the hotel. The workout room was recently renovated, and it really didn’t need it. This property has one of the better workout rooms I have seen in a Westin. The indoor pool looks clean and inviting, but I have not used it.
The food at the restaurant and at the lobby bar is exceptional. I can always count on getting a great meal even if I’m arriving well past the local dinner time. The restaurant and bar staff provide terrific service.
The hotel has nice conference facilities that are frequently used by nearby brand-name companies and given the food and service, I’m sure events hosted there are terrific.
There is a free parking garage connected to the hotel. Parking is never an issue.
Even though I’m a platinum level member, I’m not always put on the SPG floor. If this is important to you, just ask the front desk staff when you check in.
My best tip for this property: If you are arriving into IAD (Dulles) late, take the Westin’s shuttle to the hotel and rent a car from the Hertz location in the hotel in the morning. Your car will be waiting for you in the hotel parking garage and this is easier and less expensive than renting the same car at the airport (no airport concession recovery fees and you aren’t paying to park a car for the night).

My wife and I arrived at midnight after our connecting flight home had been canceled. After a tough day of traveling, staff at this Westin provided the best customer service one could imagine. We were greeted warmly, and every accommodation was provided to us. This visit really turned our trip around. We can't say enough about the staff - the shuttle drivers, the food service staff, and especially Kate, who we believe was the night shift front desk manager. Kate went the extra mile + for us, even providing detailed directions to Reagan airport for our flight the next day.

Very convenient location close to Dulles airport. Not much nearby, but many stores and restaurants less than 10 minutes away by car. Hotel was comfortable and met with my expectations for a Westin.
