Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Place We enjoyed our 2 day stay here before our cruise. It was clean and fresh and the pool inviting. Many other services for a cost including internet in the room. We thought the restaurant food was very expensive so we ate elsewhere. We like good food, but at a more reasonable price. Many places just 1 to 2 blocks south of this hotel to eat and shuttle or bus transportation for under a dollar just out front to the beautiful town with many restaurants and shops to see. We'll stay again next time we come here. We used SPG points and cash so the room was $60 per night and 4000 points, well worth it. December 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel for Vacation I was there for vacation and this was a wonderful hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is also walking distance to other nice hotel restaurants, so you can stay there or venture out. The gay area is just a short cab ride away. This hotel has a very nice Spa and I recommend kicking your vacation off with a massage! If you are there for more than a few days, rent a poolside cabana. We did and it was great! Now for the one drawback. The carpeting in the guest room was very dirty and comes close to being downright filthy. Wear your flip-flops when in the room. February 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this Hotel! We have stayed here twice and we love it! The only downfall is the bed pillows. They need firmer pillows. Necks were sore after sleeping on their pillow. Staff is awesome, food is awesome....right on the beach! Quiet area! Will stay there again!!!! July 9, 2014

Of the hundreds of guests over a very busy holiday weekend, he remembered my name each time I went to get a pool towel. Outstanding service. Rated 1 out of 5 by Left holding the bag " No free rides " We arrived on a Sat around noon , had to wait til around 3 until we could get into our to rooms , ( not really a issue at first because it was a hot day and we wanted to use the pool . went up to the pool area where it was jammed and no seats were availible ( seats are all pre-booked) we decided to go offsite . We finally got into our room around 4. So far not the best but still positive about this hotel. That night there was a wedding going on and our 2 premium ocean rooms were above the hotel hall. There had a DJ that was jamming the tunes with heavy bass ( i love music ) but this was to much especailly since the party went past 1am...... Upon check-out the next morning . the girl at the counter asked how our stay was ( so i told here not the greatest ....noise ) We had already made arangments for a hotel van to take us the the Pier ( we were going on a cruise) She apologized for the noise and voluntarily said " dont worry about the hotel charge for the Van " Its on us due to the noise . With this gesture , i thought great hotel they aleast tried to make good on a bad expierance . We all got into the van and were driven the 15 miutes to the pier , upon getinng there i tipped the drive what i thought was a " free " ride $10 my shock and dismay he said you still owe me $45 for the ride !???. I explained that due to the noise the hotel was paying for this......we went back and forth and the driver called the hotel on his cell ( after about 2-3 minutes and a conversation in spanish ..i could not understand ) he said ...nobody knows about this including his manager and i owed him $45 , I never felt so insulted and redfaced in my life, thinks that i was trying to get a free ride ...... paid him his $45 +$10 tip ...and he drove off ........MY OVERALL MOOD JUST BECAME " WORST HOTEL EXPIERANCE AND STAY ".DONT go there and if are promised something have you video camera on so you can record it and play it back to them so they dont think you are trying to pull a fast one $ 45 is not the end of the world ...fealing like a DEAD-BEAT AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD _ PRICELESS !!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Hotel I am an airline Captain and spend at least 7 nights per month in a hotel on the road. I have stayed at the Westin Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale over 25 times in the past 6 months. It is beyond compare for everything the Westin brand promotes. The staff is superior. They are attentive, professional and always one step ahead of the customer. The rooms are spectacular and always clean and quiet. Every different room I have been in has exceeded my needs and expectations. When I travel with my wife and kids through south Florida we will make time to stay at the Westin Beach Resort. Rated 2 out of 5 by Problems we encountered Our issues began with reservations made eight weeks in advance. The block that we were going under did not have availability for 3 of the nights (we were there for eight nights). I spent close to an hour with reservation specialist. She misspelled my name, when I let her know that while we were on the phone that the reservations had not come to my email or junk mail she was dismissive, became frustrated and just tried to get me off the phone. Those reservations were not only not sent to me because she failed to spell my name correctly and therefore had the wrong email, but the dates were incorrect. I called back the following day and spoke with a different specialist, who was much more polite and accommodating, but we still ended up with reservations that were incorrect dates, duplicated reservations and a very complicated confirmation process. On checking in we realized the problems. The manager was helpful but that process also took about 20 minutes. We were told by the younger and less experienced staff member that we would have $50 credit at hotel restaurant and did not receive this. In addition in reviewing my bill today I found that for the days blocked, we were charged for valet. This block was NOT supposed to have valet charge. We also had issues with the block itself. When we arrived, we found out through the individuals who had blocked the room that much of the block was actually taken by a different group. I think that ultimately this is also a responsibility of the employee handling the block, who should have instructed the folks blocking to give a list of the expected individuals who would be using the block (we were told by staff that this should have happened, and that makes total sense). This error made a big difference for us, as we had two rooms (for additional family member) for some of the nights and making the total cost over $600. As far as the room, it was OK, but a little bit worn. When we had a roach that scuttled across the room that was very unpleasant. The staff did immediately change our room, but there was no offer to have staff help get our bags to the new room. Our check out was also lacking. I stood in line for twenty minutes while someone was checking in (he apparently also had issues). When additional staff came down to help, rather than say, that they would take the next person in line, they actually took the last individuals on the line...while I was needing to get out to get my flight. When I did check it today, I found that there valet charges for the time that the room was blocked. All in all I probably spent 3 hours with reservations, check in/check out and trying to work out issues...That is a problem and outweighs the pleasant staff that were there and the proximity to the beach. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone after all the issues, and they continue! July 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Place to Celebrate an Anniversary We live just 40 minutes North of the hotel, but came here to celebrate our 44th Anniversary with our stay and a dinner at Shula's. We were offered a $50 food and beverage credit when we checked in, which was a nice touch and greatly appreciated. Our room had a great view; the only drawback was the lack of a tub, which we were not made aware of when we checked in, but we made do without it. Pool attendant was outstanding and set us up with chairs and towels immediately. We had a great stay despite a lot of rain--not anything we expected the staff to be able to control?! The meal at Shula's was also very memorable, as we were even greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne when we arrived in honor of our anniversary. June 21, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Hotel with great location Hotel is directly across from the beach. I participated in their "environmental program", but when I called to get someone to bring more shampoo, conditioner and a few other things that morning, by the time I got back to my room in the evening, there still hadn't been anyone who came to my room to provide these items or clean...super frustrated. Plus air kept cutting off in the middle of the night and it ran very loud. Finally got up for the third time in the middle of the night to keep air down and it worked! I am typically cold, so this was definitely a problem. June 20, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sleepless in Ft. Lauderdale This was the worst quality of sleep experience that I have ever had in a hotel. Our first bed was so uncomfortable, that neither my husband or I were able to sleep the entire night. We then changed rooms and the mattress was still awful. At about 1:15 a.m. I explored taking the covers off of the bed and either sleeping on the settee in the room or on the floor. Ultimately we got about one hour once we rolled ourselves into a fetal position. My back ached, hips ached, neck ached. All in all, it was terrible. June 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME STAYCATION we live in Boca Raton and decided to make a weekend out of a work event i had going on in the fort lauderdale area. the staff made us feel like we were far from home in the best way, and catered to our every need. they were very accommodating,from reservations to the valet down to the pool guys renting out towels. anything we needed they got for us very quickly. we brought our pup and he was very comfortable as well! it was great to walk down and spend the mornings on the beach and "play tourist" :) we will definitely come back as soon as we can find an excuse to do so! Rated 5 out of 5 by Pool Attendants are Wonderful! Kevin and the poolside team worked so hard to accommodate my family during our stay. They endure extreme heat, but are always smiling and in constant motion to insure all guests are satisfied. There were always towels available as well as chairs/umbrellas. The hotel staff was professional and always welcoming. We loved our stay here! July 1, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by NOT GOINT BACK It was 62 deg. in our room, the guy at the front said it was normal....after 30 min of negociations???? he charge me 30$ per night for an upgrade. The fee for the parking 32$ per day, was to expensive....we always call to get our car and we had to wait, everytime, 15 minutes. NO GOING BACK FOR SURE. July 2, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Very bad experience The first night, the people in the room next to me argued from 2-4 a.m. I called the front desk three times -- I'm not sure if security ever spoke to the people. I changed my mind re: the Green option, and was told my room would be made up by housekeeping. It was not. The AC didn't work. I was promised $150 credit for the bad experiences, and it did not show up on my folio. When I called to ask, the woman who answered sounded challenging when I told her what I was calling about. "Who told you that you would get a credit?" Fortunately, I remembered the manager's name. All in all, horrible hotel experience. I travel to Fort Lauderdale frequently on business and do not plan to stay at the Westin again. I did receive excellent help from Adrian in engineering and most of the people on the phone. Rated 3 out of 5 Nice but fell short with several things I stayed at your hotel, it was pleasant, but fell short of my expectations, as I had stayed at other Westin in New Zealand and was fabulous. I pre ordered breakfast, hung card on door, it never came when mean,t to, I called service express, and they said there was no card they had under my name, yet I specifically hung it well before needed to be on door...I then had to wait for another breakfast..was not impressed. Other than that is was average, good location and very clean...and the beds are comfy. April 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great staff The first room we received upon check in had a view of the roof, I went to the front desk and asked for another room, and the reason why. The lady at the front desk, not only gave us another room, but upgraded us with a great view and excellent room, for no extra fee. The bell staff were very helpful also with shuttle service to Las Olas Blvd. and the cruise terminal for a small fee. Wave restaurant for lunch was very good. And having chairs on the beach for the guest was also very nice. February 17, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Valet Parking is a Joke I have stayed here over 30 times and the valet parking gets worse every time. It took 15 minutes for them to retrieve my car (instead of the promised 3-5 minutes), and then I sat in my car waiting another 10 minutes to get out of the driveway because they kept bringing other cars in instead of allowing us to leave. We were basically trapped like prisoners. December 16, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Most all of the staff very helpful, but hotel has issues. Upon check in we found our room door open and even the bell man was shocked to see that. When we got off the 4th floor we could smell a chemical odor like a fresh paint smell and when we got into our room onthe 4th floor it was very strong. The room also had a view of the 3rd floor rooftop with trash on it. I called to ask to be placed in a different room and they did give us a better room onthe 14th floor but we had to take 2 double beds verses the King bed. June 25, 2014

Except for one elevator being shut down (getting to the first floor would take about 5 minutes) and the bathroom doors being closet doors (you can hear and smell everything that was going on in there), the hotel was great. Rated 5 out of 5 by Westin Top Customer Service I was at the Westin for an after-cruise family reunion and when my rooms were not ready, the lobby manager on duty offered us breakfast while we waited. He was very attentive and kind. When the room was finally ready, there was a cleaning mix-up and we received VIP-coordinator Courtney's friendliest communication and a splendid surprise upgrade to an amazing room.
