I first stayed at this property in October 2012 and will be staying there again next week as well as in September 2013. Previously I have stayed down the street at another chain in a one bedroom suite. The thought of a lanai room at the Westin with an attached cabana intrigued me. I had the best time in the Westin lanai room. The food at Shula's was superb, and the staff was excellent. Will repeat again and again (as my upcoming stays indicate).

This hotel was great! The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was very tasteful and fresh. I found a roach in a bag that I bought up from a traning room in the lower level. I reported it to the front desk and she said she would alert housekeeping to have the room disinfested. I was a little disappointed that the clerk did not offer some credit to my room as part of customer service inconvenience. Otherwise, my stay was very pleasant.

It appeared to me that the people at the front desk cared more about getting all the money tthey could from me than giving me good service. Or any service for that matter.
The were very cold and unhelpful. If your looking for good service you might want to find another hotel. The worst westin i have ever stayed in.
the valet personel were very helpful and considerate.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and quick to respond to my needs. The biggest complaint I had was the room service. I did not like having to call to get the room cleaned. It was confusing. I am all for having the green philosophy but to get the trash emptied would have been nice. Love the hotel and loved the view! Thank you so much.

Spent my 5 year anniversary at this resort. The room view was incredible....looking right at the ocean. Location was great! Restaurants within walking distance and a few feet from the beach. Staff met all our requests promptly. Only complaint is that my husband found a used condom under the chair right by the window. Wouldn't even mention it except I had a 15 month old with us who doesn't think twice about putting ANYTHING in her mouth.

Excellent hotel with wonderful staff. We had a beautiful view of the ocean.Clean room. Very dark in the bathroom..lighting is not good for putting on makeup or doing your hair. The pillows are uncomfortable. The ellipticals screens were not working. I told the staff as we were leaving and he said he would talk to someone. I would highly recommend this hotel although it sounds like Im complaining. The $25.00 parking fee is very steep!!

I flew in from Canada to Ft Lauderdale for 2 nights, stayed here again, have been at this Hotel a handful of times in the past 2 months, as soon as i entered in too the lobby they recognized me by my name, and greeted me so special with such a nice smile, checked in and got an upgrade to an ocean view room on top floor, room was very nice as always, will be coming back very shortly. The staff are so friendly and nice to all guest.

Very Comfortable room and excellent staff, but the bathroom is poorly designed. The "door" is basically a louvered shutter and there is a louvered shutter open to the room on one wall. There is no privacy for sound, light. or odor. It doesn't work unless you are traveling alone. Also, there is one towel rack in the shower, no place for hand towels by the sink. A hotel by the beach needs more towel rack space for wet bathing suits.

Really appreciate the extra level of customer service at this location. They tried to make our stay as enjoyable as possible from the people at the front desk, concierge desk, the pool staff and the beach staff.
Loved the location that we had the beach right across the street and that there was so much within walking distance of the hotel.
A special thank you to Hanly for making my trip with my family a very memorable experience.

Just an observation, on the hallways you can smell the food from the restaurant, it should have some odor block on the hallways, everything else was perfect. I was unable to use the spa no specials according to Joanna for couples, just regular price, it was our weeding anniversary .

My husband and I wanted a peaceful travel experience with comfort and amenities. The Westin proved to be an excellent choice. We had a lovely time and the staff was courteous and friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and our room attendant brought us in a new mini fridge because the one in the room was not getting cold! They went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay!

With the walk way over the main road to the beach, this hotel has an advantage over most on the beach.
Our only issue was the soap - it is shaped like a leaf and smells great, but it easily falls out of your hand and you cannot store it in the show tray (it falls through the holes) We also had to ask for additional soap because they didn't resupply the shower soap for us. There was only 1 bathrobe in the room for 2 people ;(

My husband n I have just celebrated our 10 yr anniversary . Due to a chronic health condition we have never been able to travel, not even for a honeymoon. This was our first trip together and the hotel and the staff made our belated honeymoon exceptional. The service was outstanding ,the hotel was beautiful , the bed was so comfortable I couldn't believe I was in a hotel .Many thanks to all for making my trip so wonderful .

Overall our experience was good. Location wad great right on the beach with skywalk. Most frustrating thing was getting chairs taken away from us at beach when it was time to close up. We came down from northeast to get some nice weather and with 2 days of rain during our trip, we were quite upset to have chairs taken from us at 5pm when there was lots of sun and warm temps. Waves pool bar/grille was great service was good wiht with great bartender. Towel situation was good once we knew process. Rooms were nice. Other major issue we had when we were there, was one night we tried to go to Lauderdale by the sea and came out to front of the hotel and told them where we were going and the valet there convinced us to use the hotel shuttle which was supposed to be less expensive than a cab which it was not. Maybe hotel should use this shuttle to get to and from airport.

We live locally so this was a short "staycation" on the beach. I won the 2 night stay from a local foody event. I have ran by this hotel many times without giving much thought to it's external look and feel but when we arrived I was very happy with the decor, friendliness of the staff, and welcoming vibe. We arrived very early in the day and the staff was happy to check us in (it is September though so occupancies are low in Ft. Laud) immediately. We got to the room and started to unpack. We found a previous guests clothes in one of the drawers and I called the operator to send someone up. They came up immediately and removed the belongings (I hope the person will call to get their clothes back) and apologized profusely. No big deal!!! Situation was handled perfectly! We had a fabulous stay, the beds are amazing the views were good and location could not be beat.

Staying at Westin Hotels usually assures you of a quality stay and in this case it was above and beyond that. The staff, from the moment we checked in, was attentive to any request we had and made a few suggestions to us that were perfect. From the valets to front desk to the concierge to the people at the pool, there was not one person that did not offer a smile and a helping hand. We would go back here in a NY minute.

We spent 2 days there 9/12-9/14, room service never came to make up our room or give us new towels, I had to take the dirty towels out to the hallway and get new towels and dump my bathroom trash out!! Towel attendant at pool was rude and condescending!!!!
NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED FROM A 5 STAR HOTEL AND WE ARE SPG MEMBERS!!

My family and I had a wonderful five day vacation over Memorial Day weekend in Fort Lauderdale at the Westin. I would totally recommend it to anyone. The hotel was very nice and the staff very pleasant but best of all is that it was absolutely beautiful. The beaches, ocean, palm trees were gorgeous and the hotel is located in right in the middle of everything....Shopping, Restaurants, Drinks......GREAT TIME!!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying pre and post cruise at the Westin. We requested a handicapped room and must say the rooms exceeded our expectations! Thank you to the front desk for your help in also granting an early check in. We did have lunch at Shula's on our pre night and Breakfast the following day. The staff did not seem as enthusiastic , especially at breakfast.

The hotel was beautiful and the service was excellent. I especially liked the way the pool area is connected to the beach, accross the street, by an elevated walkway. You should be aware they charge fees for all the services,not included in the room price. For instance, you have to pay $20 just to get a pool or beach umbrella. Also, watch out for the internet fees and for mandatory valet parking (at $26.50/night).

Tourist hangout. Not many positives to tell you. Restaurant does not serve lunch. Really? Pillows were uncomfortable. Major complaint: Front Desk refused to provide a late checkout even though the hotel told my secretary prior to reserving a room that I could have (and pay for) a late checkout, which was needed as I had a business meeting at noon. Front Desk refused to provide a late checkout. Avoid this hotel.

I wasn't impressed with my stay. It started from check-in when the desk attendant offered me a complimentary room upgrade which turned out to be a room overlooking the roof. Not very picturesque. I wonder what the room I upgraded from looked like. I chose the Westin largely because of the overpass that ostensibly provided direct access to the beach. Problem was, the elevator to the beach was not working properly. Speaking of elevators, I was temporarily stuck on the middle elevator which would not move from the 7th floor. The $12 drinks were bad as expected. No surprise there. Too much nickle and dime-ing. The beach chairs are free as long as you don't sit under an umbrella! C'mon! No free Internet in the room. C'mon! No full length mirrors in the room. Other than the women who got my drink at the pool, the maid and the attendant who checked me out, the staff, including the parking attendants and the pool staff seemed disingenuous. I didn't feel welcomed.

From beginning to the final farewell the service at the Westin was great. Our room with the ocean view was very clean, (special note to Dulce for that), love the large shower. The pool is beautiful, the walkway to the beach, so convenient. A special note to John and Kevin for the chairs and umbrella everyday. Super job to the valet boys with the car. What can I say your hotel service is great! See you soon!!!

We checked in on December 8th and were told we were gold member but we are platinum members. Person checking us in said there was nothing she could do as this was what computer said and we would need to call SPG to correct it. It took out my platinum card but that made no differance. Called spg and they said they show reservation as platinum. Checked in on 12-16 with same problem. Only received regular room.

the staff was wonderful, everyone was soo friendly, guys in valet were excellent, going as far as getting directions for us on places to shop, i cant remember the guy name that took our baggage down when we checked out was soo very friendly, he is from jamaica and said that he enjoyed our southern accent, very nice guy, even the guy in the gift shop was very nice, the friendly staff made our stay enjoyable

Schuler's Rest. had very poor wait service (unattentive and slow); and our food ( for 4) was either not cooked to temperature requested or had been precooked and left to dessicate!!!!

As the title says I am sooo happy I decided to stay at the Westin Ft. Lauderdale Resort. The staff was courteous and friendly. The female conciers gave my dogs a treat as we were checking in that was soooo thoughtful :). The room was clean and beautiful so were all the features the hotels have to offer....I would love to stay at the Westin Ft. Lauderdale again. The beach is BEAUTIFUL!!! clear blue waters.

We very much enjoyed our vacation at this hotel and would stay here again. The pool staff was attentive, although I think there could have been a few more attendants given the capacity of the hotel at the time. We enjoyed room service several times while we were there, and for the most part it was good. We didn't care for a couple of the dishes, and once, we were shorted an order of soup, we called to request it, and it never came. I didn't pursue it, because it was just late and I didn't want to bother. The valet service was very good, but was a little expensive. But, I think it's expected for the area. We liked the room and the floor we were on. It was quiet and the housekeeping service was good. The best part of this hotel was the location. It was very close and easy to get to the beach. There is a walkway across the street and even an elevator, which came in handy when we were hauling our stuff to and from the beach.

Had a great stay at this resort. The staff was wonderful - bellhop, check-in, pool staff. Everyone was very accomodating and made us feel right at home. The location is fantastic and the view from our room was best in class.
The only thing that needed improvement was the maid knocking on our door at 8:30am to clean it. I should have put the Do Not Disturb on, but I thought 8:30 was a little early.

We stayed here for a night. We usually stay at the Diplomat as it's my favorite in South Florida. It wasn't available, so we gave the Sheraton a try. Our suite was gorgeous and had great beach decor. Room service was fast and the food was delicious. The beach is nice but loud. We don't have kids and were definitely in the minority. Recommended for families first, but it's good for couples as well.
