My fault for not doing more research before booking this stay. If you're looking to be on a proper beach, this isn't your place. If you're looking to be close to lots of "stuff" (i.e. Phuket), this isn't your place. If you're looking for a resort to stay and not have to leave - you may do well here.
The setting is beautiful. Very hilly, so people with differing levels of physical ability should probably not stay here. Buggies are great and easily zip you around.
Two pools. Really not enough to support the resort if it's full. Lots of kids when we were there.
Decent views from one half of the resort -- but from the other lots of huge ships and factories.
Our room was decent. Nice garden tub. The AC didn't work well and it was loud.
The happy hour is amazing mostly bc it's complimentary for Platinum members. We participated every night and loved the live music.
The restaurants are mediocre and mega pricey. Was not impressed at all.
While our stay wasn't bad, I wouldn't return.

One of the most stunning features is its infinity pool, not the main hotel pool, this quieter and more relaxing pool sits adjacent to Prego by the Beach – an Italian themed restaurant open for lunch and dinner (not every day). The Westin has a total of 6 restaurants, so if you decided not to leave the hotel, you would still have a variety of moderately to high priced food choices. All of them good choices. My favorite was EEST – an Asian Grill and Sushi Bar, EEST had amazing Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese and other Asian foods. Breakfast, served daily at Seasonal Treats Restaurant, was an amazing buffet with a variety of foods from all over the world. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted and welcomed by the staff. Our room was upgraded to a Indulge Suite, a large 2 room suite with a king bed and sofa bed, two bathrooms – one overlooking the bay, two patios with lounge chairs and amazing, breath-taking views. The Westin Siray Bay is a great hotel, offers great views and a relaxing retreat from the rest of the world. I highly recommend a visit.

Beautifully maintained grounds. Hotel is built on a hillside, so every room has a view of the bay. Staff is helpful and accommodating. Many of the rooms are far from the lobby and restaurants, and the steep hillside can make the walk a workout. But golf carts are available for transport, and staff respond quickly.
The hotel is isolated from any nearby services, so it is not convenient to visit shops and restaurants outside the hotel ( although there is a fee-based hotel shuttle to nearby Phuket Town). For this reason, the best use of the hotel is for rest and relaxation.

I am not sure why so many people say the Westin Siray Bay is only for families. I have been two times, and I travel with friends. While there are families, and kids, I hardly ever noticed them. There are plenty of pools - and one that really has no kids at it. The property is spacious and allows for a variety of activities.
The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The property is on a massive hill(s) and you should be aware of that when booking. The hotel does provide shuttles to your room/from your room whenever you want it. I requested a room on the first level thinking we could walk up the "1" flight of stairs and not need the shuttle all the time. Well, that didn't happen...after 1 trip up we decided to use the shuttle. I'm so glad they offer that service.
The spa is good. I would recommend massage, facial and other services, but the manicure and pedicures are not so good.
I recommend the Westin for anyone looking for a great vacation in Phuket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by PeterArcticCircle couldn't think of much bad to say, although I tried very hard! :)
Our first visit to Phuket, and thank goodness we stayed at the Westin Siray Bay, because Phuket itself was a bit of a let down. If you want to have a quality getaway, don't leave the hotel! Hahaha! If I really have to say something negative, it was that internet was charged for the room, although free in the lobby. Obviously, this will change in the near future. When surfing the reviews on the net, I saw many complain about the steps to the accommodation - for which they provide free-of-charge golf cart transportation whenever you want it - but hey, I don't know why people would complain about a bit of a climb, I liked to take the hike to the room to burn some of the calories gained from the fantastic food served at the hotel's many restaurants. The hotel also had at least three pools on different levels - we loved them all. We stayed 4 nights and still didn't manage to try or explore everything the hotel had! The staff were very kind, and they seemed very genuine. Unless you are royalty and live in a palace, you will be happy with this choice - and I love to find faults with accommodation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by RODNEY17 Impressed with the GM - exceeded expectations but be aware remote
There is a great deal to like about this resort - and an elephant in the room !
The overwhelming negative is of course is its location -it is unquestionably remote for access to the main tourists strips of the island in terms of restaurants, shopping, attractions, the airport etc. Expect to lose up to an hour each way to visit Karon or Patong beaches. To avoid being exposed to the island's notorious taxi/tuk tuk mafia fare regimes, hire a car or you may feel stranded ( hotel valet parking is free!).
The remoteness and cliff side structure of the hotel does however have its positives for couples seeking a refuge- it is not a resort which would seem attractive to families with teens or young children and hence there is an adult sanctuary ambiance to the resort.
Turning to the positives there are many. The well appointed large rooms are modern affording sensational views from the floor to ceiling windows and furnished individual terraces and are maintained with punctual and efficient housekeeping. Real long life milk is provided with the coffee machine. Endless supplies of bottled complimentary drinking water is supplied.
The expansive attractive grounds and diversity of the three infinity style pool options all with views together with easy direct beach access will give you over a stay of more than a few days much to enjoy and explore. Not once over many days we were challenged in finding pool side lounges to enjoy. I particularly liked the "no reserve" lounge rule!
Service was Thai smile at its best at every venue - from reception, golf cart drivers, restaurants and pool side.
It was one of the first resorts I have seen a hotel GM so often and active - every morning and and evening Janet would be observed introducing herself to guests and seeking input. Truly impressive. Over 6 days at the Sheraton Krabi in a prior stay the GM was AWOL.
If you are a Platinum Starwood member, the amenities and recognition are superb including an elevated breakfast experience in a separate restaurant and in a pleasurable first at a Thai resort for me served with Champagne! A thorough delight and wonderful start to each day. Other recognition includes complimentary drinks and canapés at Splash bar between 5.00pm and 7.00pm.
