The staff is excellent. They are very courteous and attentive. The breakfast is delicious, and it's definitely better than most of the SPG hotels that I've stayed at. The space was allocated in a way that made the suite feel smaller, but at least the shape was unique. I didn't have any trouble getting a taxi like some of the other reviewers mentioned. Overall, those were great, but there are two serious issues that could keep me from staying at this hotel next time.
Rampant smoking - smoking on non-smoking floors, smoking in the men's locker room, smoke smelling non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor... I guess the hotel isn't completely at fault for this, but I'm sure they can think of some creative ways to fix this and actually enforce them. Instead, the staff takes a passive attitude and blames it on inconsiderate guests which I suppose there are plenty of. In any case it's hard to feel like you're in a nice hotel when you have to smell smoke every day.
Toxic pool - the chlorine was so strong that just walking into the room made my eyes hurt. I've been to a good number of swimming pools, and I've never experienced anything like this. To be fair, it was only 5 hours after the staff said it was ok to swim after being treated so I decided to leave and return the next day. 24 hours later, it was still the same.

My husband and I stayed at the Westin Xiamen for a week for business and experienced exceptional hospitality. We were delighted by both the hotel and the staff, especially the Guest Experience Manager, who went over and above to ensure our stay was five star. He made us feel at home in our first visit to Xiamen where we unfamiliar with our surroundings and spoke little Chinese, and made a special effort to seek us out every day to ensure we were enjoying our stay. He also organized a memorable private dining experience for the evening of our wedding anniversary, complete with red linen and chocolates waiting in our room upon our return. We will be booking the Westin without hesitation for our next trip to Xiamen.

The overall experience here is superb. I uses the Qbar a lot as every night, I will go there to have a night cap and sometimes dinner. The new manager Alex Yu is awesome. She really take good care of the guest, and makes personal connections to ensure the guest are taken care of. Thank you for going to extra mile in customer service.

Not my first time a this hotel, but my 2nd time. All staff were very welcome and with a smile. Today I got upgraded to 37/F with a nice suite. I was going to work on my email with my socks on, at my working desk, within 1/2 second, I have noticed that my feet was wet and found out the carpet was wet. I called customer service immediately but had to call again 2nd time after 10 mins without showing up. It has been diagnosed piping with leakage. I called customer service but no one answered my phone. I carried my luggaged to 40/F to get a new room. Up until this moment, no one has offered laundry service for my sock, my sock is wet, but also with stain. 40/F staff only said sorry, but they need to provide more training on risk management. Pipe leaking is not a joke and I hope this hotel check more carefully.

I've stayed at the Westin on numerous occasions and each time the rooms and service have been exempelary. During my last visit, I felt a little unwell, so decided to use room service for evening dining. Every single meal that I ordered was delivered swiftly and the quality, taste and presentation was exceptional. The guest experience manager, Joao, made me feel very welcome. I look forward to my next stay at the Westin!

I am an extensive traveler and have been staying in many hotels in Greater China Region. The staff in Westin, Xiamen, are, without doubt, the friendliest and most helpful lot that I have ever come across. At Westin Xiamen, I can check in at the room. This is such a pleasant experience especially when you arrive at the hotel late in the evening. Special thanks for Yolana. Excellent job.
The concierge department, under the leadership of Tom, has been extremely helpful. I am particularly impressed when they go to the roadside to try and get me a taxi during heavy rains
Last but not least, I would like to thank Emily and Vicky/Vicki at the Chinese restaurant on the second floor. The food there is not the greatest but their service is just tremendous. They are extremely friendly and helpful and always do their best in making me feeling extremely comfortable and at ease every time I step into the restaurant

My stay was for 2 weeks.
Positives are staff (namely-Rebecca front desk,Julian (Qba),Jaoe (f desk) Ricky (hotel pickup) Sue (Qba).all refer to me by name and v helpful n friendly.
Hotel generally superb facilities - I would recommend hotel on the above list.
Negatives.Food.Qba signature steak very poor-would not order again nor recommend eating there (service very good)..
Breakfast ok but layout confusing with toast/bread very long way/time from main buffet-strange! good juice selection.Again-good staff.
Very difficult to get taxi-other hotels have huge advantage over this issue and could influence my future plans.
