Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff is excellant My mother and I stayed here while my dad was at the Cleveland Clinic. The staff was excellent. Doorman Denis was exceptional. He was always pleasant and brought a smile to my face during this trying time. There was a water problem and we where upgraded to a King suite which was very nice. The one area we where not pleased with was the menu at the restaurant. May I suggest adding some simpler dinning choices. Over all we where very pleased. Rated 1 out of 5 by Missed Potential Beautiful interior architecture, great location but missing in details; Dim rooms, leaking shower door, dead electric outlets. Service at the club where breakfast is served is lacking. Two morning in a row they ran out of coffee, the third morning they ran out of dishes and sleeves for the coffee cups. Saturday half the rooms were without hot-water so we were allocated a different room, Sunday the room was not serviced until I asked for service on returning in the evening. All this was pointed to an assistant manager, he has polite but not a note of apology. To be fair, the reception staff was pleasant and helpful and food above average. July 12, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Stay yet I have stayed at many hotels downtown and this was clean, modern, and a great staff. It is close to Browns stadium but you will likely want a cab to get to the night life. It was only $7 to get to E. 4th.. July 21, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Very Disappointing I stayed recently while on a business trip and was less than impressed with this location. I have used the Westin elsewhere with little to no problems, but this facility was terrible. Pros: Hotel is pretty. Like a new coat of paint on a rusted battleship. Cons: Room had no Hot Water and I had to contact the Front Desk twice to get a resolution—moved to another room. Once moved to another room for hot water, I then had a malfunctioning drain. Guess it is a lot to ask for both. No place to get a quick snack or a Coke. Not a single location inside the hotel where I could get a bottle of Coke in the evening. When I asked the Front Desk, I was directed to visit the local CVS. I understand that this is a minor point, but having traveled extensively throughout the US, this is the first hotel I have encountered without vending machines. Oh, they have a ‘store’ with half a box of KitKats and some old cookies, but if you want something other than water for a drink, you will need to bring your own or visit the overpriced lounge or indulge in room service. Ridiculous Room Service--There is nothing in this world or the next that would justify the prices listed. Confused rules—I stayed at the same time as a coworker who was also using our business rate. When I asked about WiFi, I was informed that my service was included. My partner, when asking a different person at the desk, was told it was not included. $30 dollar valet parking? For that price, I expected to have the vehicle detailed. Instead, I learned that this hotel will wring every last cent from visitors. Luckily we found a place nearby that offered parking for $11 a day. In all, this place is a money pit with lackluster amenities, an indifferent staff at best, and nothing of the charm associated with Westin facilities. July 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs Improvement... From a business perspective this hotel has a long way to go in terms of meeting my general expectations of a typical Starwood property. I understand that this facility underwent considerable renovation and had just re-opened several weeks prior which may explain much of the mayhem, however it was still disappointing for a frequent traveler and SGP member to encounter so many short commings at a Starwood property.. I had to wait an hour for my room to be ready as did about 50 other people that were checking in the same day as I did for our conference. I encountered several inadequacies in my room which needed immediate attention, room service took 80 minutes, the staff was less than helpful when it came to recommending good eating establishments in the area..??? and the service was the slowest I've ever had at any hotel. I would recommend a more rigorous training program for staff prior to re-opening along with completing a punch list of items that need to be "guest ready" when opening to the public. I will continue to frequent Starwoods however this location NEEDS CONSIDERABLE WORK and sadly I will not be staying there again. June 25, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Stay I checked in at 4:30 pm and was told that my room was not ready - WHAT? Then I was told that they did have a room but the last guest that they sent up came back down and said that the room had not been cleaned and was not ready. Did I want that room? I asked if they sent housekeeping up after they were told it was dirty and was told yes. So I took the room. The room is spacious and nice but when I arrived the temp in the rm was 72 degrees. I turned the air on and went out to dinner. 4 hours later it was 74 degrees! I called the desk and was told engineering would be right up. 30 min later I called again and was told didn't I know that the air and water were off? No signs on the elevators or voice mails! But supposedly they just fixed it. The next morning it was still 75 degrees. I asked to speak to the manager and was told - it was fixed. I said that it wasn't fixed in my rm and wanted to manager to call me when it was. I never got a call. When I came back at 2pm it was still 75 degrees! And it was one of the hottest and most humid days so far this yr. Maintenence finally showed up in my room at 5pm and said -yes it was not blowing cool air! I spent over 30 hours with no air conditioning and a room in the upper 70's. When I checked out I asked for some compensation - extra points or something but I got NOTHING! Very pretty hotel but don't expect to be comfortable! And they don't have a place to get a soda or snack. I was directed to the CVS down the street! June 25, 2014
