Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful area, friendly staff. I stayed here in June of 2013 for 3 days. The view from my room was absolutely gorgeous! The thing I wasn't prepared for was the $70 cab ride to get to the Westin Lake Resort from the airport. It would have been nice if there had been a shuttle. Apparently you can shuttle back from the Westin Lake to the Westin Las Vegas a block off of the strip and then it's a short cab ride to the airport, but only at certain times. This hotel is pet friendly but I was a little annoyed that 2 nights in a row I was awaken by a dog barking in the room next to mine...not what I would expect in a resort of this caliber. Overall though I really enjoyed my stay here! June 26, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not What I Expected it I have stayed at his property many time prior to this visit. I was very unhappy this time around. For the amount of money I paid for this room I was very disappointed. The service was poor, the dining was unacceptable and ran out of food many times during our week long stay. The worst part is the last night we were there our floors fire alarm went off twice during the night. This forced us to leave our rooms and meet outside only to be told it was a false alarm. Many people who were not SPG members received a credit for the full amount of their room for that night. I did not because I was an SPG member I got a measly 3000 points credit. I will not be staying here again any time soon. June 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Family Vacation Resort We decided on the resort because of the location away from the strip ( wanted to get away from the crowd etc). Excellent service with valet service and bell hop service. Front desk acknowledged my wife's Gold SPG status and upgraded our room to lake view deluxe on 8th. The room was clean and very roomy for us and our little one. Great view of the lake...next time I will request a room with juliette balcony. Like others, the resort is very beautiful hotel!!! The pool area had two separate pools: adults and kids. Note: pool during non Saturday/Sunday was quiet and had no problem with lounge chairs with shade. If you use the pool on Saturday get there early to get few of the lounge chairs with umbrellas or tree shades. We also enjoyed the paddle boat ride out to the lake. Recommend the Marssa restaurant (Japanese/Asian). Loved the presentation of the food and excellent taste.... I used the fitness center and the equipment was clean (small center). Only disappoint with room was they did not stock the free Krug coffees (had to call front desk and they delivered in 30 minutes). June 24, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by could not sleep I have to say, only to the request of my fiance, that i didn't make a scene. I couldn't sleep all night, the room we got was right by the elevator, i mean, its like sleeping in it. all day and night to have to listen to that horrible banging noise, its the worst sound imaginable.room 7202 should be off limit to guests. Rated 3 out of 5 by Beautiful location This hotel located on Lake Mead offers great family fun. However, check in was awful! We were told check in was at 4:00 and we were not able to get a room until 7:00. June 21, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Is this really a Westin? Moldy shower curtain, bad-smelling towels, garbage in the hallways that was not removed after 24 hours (and several calls to Service Express), two dead baby birds on the main outdoor patio off the lower lobby level that had obviously been there for some time. Shocking for a Westin. June 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice resort, needs better communication The hotel was beautiful and spacious, we enjoyed our stay overall. I was disappointed however when a hotel flyer said that the pool was open till 10 PM on the weekends but was closed at 8 PM on Sunday as it apparently does not count as the weekend. Needless to say my five-year-old was very disappointed. June 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Calm and relaxing stay with lake side views Our family enjoyed the stay at the Westin with its great kid pool area, relaxing fire pits out back for your cozy times with the spouse, and lastly a very welcoming staff. A few things did surprise us though, and not in a good way, the breakfast service at Ricks cafe was very slow and our waiter was not very attentive at all so to my delight our breakfast finally arrived and I paid a premium price for lukewarm food and burnt coffee. Please shoot to eat breakfast somewhere else during your stay. Lastly, when you cozy up at the firepits at night, make sure you watch your feet for bugs. June 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful ambience and Great service! Hotel location is amazingly beautiful and the architecture is gorgeous and high end. Kristen at check-in went above and beyond to make our late arrival and early departure as comfortable as possible. June 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel Ammenities The room was very nice and had some upgraded features such as a kurig coffee maker. The facility had two pools, one was geared towards children and included a water slide and the other more for adults. There was private access to the lake. You had the option of using a kayak or paddle boat free of charge. The hotel offered a free 24 hour shuttle to the village and free scheduled shuttle to the strip 5 times per day. The onsite Cafe was not appropriately staffed to accommodate a breakfast crowd. So expect to wait a while to be seated and the hostess staff to be less then friendly. We chose not to eat there because of this. Hostess staff for the Marssa restaurant were amazing, which is way more then I can say about our waiter that night. Despite that the food was outstanding. I would definitely stay again but not eat at the Cafe or Marssa, but rather the Sandbar (snack bar), coffee shop or off site. June 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Signs are misleading The signs to the fitness center and pool were extremely misleading and very confusing. And the food was not that good. I ordered room service twice, and was disappointed both times. June 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice escape from the strip The hotel was wonderful, we enjoyed everything, especially the pool side service (drinks & food). June 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not what it once was... Lake Las Vegas apparently is not what it once was. I am a local resident of Summerlin who planned a night away w/wife and kids. Thought Westin would be the perfect scenario. Resort is overcrowded at pools and activities with people and children who are not actually staying...just playing for the day. Not fair to those who have actually paid for the facilities and use for the day (I would go to the local city pools if that was the atmosphere I was seeking). Marissa restaurant was overpriced and extremely small portions for the overpriced venue (dropped 300 and left unsatisfied and hungry). Please Westin...fix this apparent problem because guests who are paying visitors should be entitled to what your great resort has...not people who are not paying and spending money during the day. Rated 4 out of 5 by Memorial Weekend Stay Overall a beautiful hotel. Very relaxing. Upon check-in the front desk didnt acknowledge the Platimun SPG status. Additionally, the hotel advertises a beautiful pool and lounge area. If you are traveling with kids, beware. The signs advertise the pool is open until 6pm and 8pm respectivley. On both nights the pool closed at 4pm and 6pm. It was a holiday week, the temperature was 103 degrees, 30 people in the pool and we were all asked to leave. Not very accomidating. Front desk did nothing about this situation. June 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Loved this hotel! Only negative comment would be the pool deck and tables - tables were sticky and covered in slopped food and drink so you couldn't put anything down on them. Pool deck could use a hose off/sweeping especially after the gardners went through. Otherwise loved the quiet resort, beautiful scenery, pleasant staff, great rooms! June 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well Done The staff is one of the friendliest I have seen. Special cudos to John the Battender for going the extra mile. The location is perfect and the amenities superb. May 31, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor service I realize that the hotel was very full during our stay, we spent 4 nights as well as 3 other groups of friends were there, when we arrived at 3pm we were not allowed to check in until after 7pm, the same happened to our friends, they said the rooms were dirty. We had no maid service x 2 days, no toilet paper in bathrooms, was told no coffee available for the in room machines only herbal tea. Starbucks downstairs took an hour for service. All in all a minimal satisfactory stay, on the other hand it is a beautiful area. Expect more from Westin> May 31, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what we expected The A/C unit didn't cool the mini suite (HOT)! Carpet was dirty! The Bathroom stunk (SEWER SMELL)! Drywall was missing on corner of one of the walls! TV in the Master Bedroom had terrible picture! Over all not at all what we expected out of a Resort! Let alone a Mini Suite upgrade! May 29, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by This hotel is very nicely located This hotel is located in a very nice area and has plenty of facilities although the customer service needs a significant improvement (especially one gentleman in a front desk) and there are additional charges that in regular SPG hotel I found for free such as business center. May 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lovely Westin This is a nice facility and is completely removed from the strip. Unfortunately it is far away from shopping and other restaurants as well. The food we had from the resort was fine, but not spectacular. Next time we will try the restaurant at the hotel. I thought it was basically sushi, but they have a regular menu as well. The service from the individuals at Ricks and Maria at the front desk was terrific, but the wait staff at the pool was lacking. The bathrooms are small in comparison to Vegas standards but the heavenly bed was terrific as always. As SPG Gold members we were hoping for late checkout but they needed us out at regular checkout time. May 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel was great but.. The hotel in general was beautiful , clean and perfect for families with a lot of kids, but the refrigerator in the room didn't work, I know is for a mini bar, but the kids drink a lot of milk so I had to buy a small cooler for the room. May 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Thank you for a great weekend. The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort is an excellent location for a family get away. We love the location and the staff was very friendly and met all our needs. We love the fact that there is no Casino on the property and all the rooms are smoke free. It has a great little man made beach and also many of the lake activities are free for the guests. The pools are great as well. Perfect the our little ones. All the staff members were friendly and met all our needs. One last note... the food here is great as well. plus 24hr room service. May 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Basketball Tournament I would like to extend my appreciation for the outstanding service.A very nice evening manager on your staff and a special shout out to all the bell men they were great especially Brian. Your service too all the children was great I would highly recommend this great hotel thank YouTube May 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great short stay Ashleen at the front desk provided excellent customer service with a smile. The room type booked was not available and she was able to take steps to make our stay comfortable neverthless. She was also able to recommend nearby restaurants for us to have dinner at. She has exceeded customer service expectations. May 28, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great hotel with poor housekeeping practices Little things do count. Housekeeping did not keep the room properly maintained. Did not refill toilet paper or shampoo. One wrapper of soap was left for a four day stay. Did not replace used glasses with clean glasses. On three occasions I had to track down the housekeeping cart to ask for supplies. The small refrigerator did not work. I mentioned the problems to front desk at check out and received a cursory apology that I knew would not lead to follow up. Otherwise, this is a very nice hotel. Be aware that there were a lot of dogs at he hotel. One down the hall from us barked incessantly. May 28, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great location on the lake The bad: Horrible service, extremely unfriendly staff. Our whole stay We encountered only 2 employees that were friendly and did their job correctly. They kept on charging my debt card each day which turned out to be $1000 over my room charge, Because of their mistake we couldn't get to my money for another day or two while Wells Fargo fixed the hotels mistake. The drinks at pool were TERRIBLE, dont waste your money. They only had about 5 umbrellas at pool, I think the Westin can afford to buy more umbrellas. The good. This hotel was in a great location. They offered free kayaking and paddle boats which was great. Rooms were comfy and nice. Hotel was decorated nicely and wasn't too big. Also no casino which we liked. May 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good hotel My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times and every time we go, we are reminded how great a little trip like this can be. We are locals and only live 15 minutes from Lake Las Vegas. The rooms were clean, staff was friendly and the outdoor firepits at night where exactly what we needed. Two things to point out, when I was at the pool in the morning hours I noticed no music was playing. I don't know if this was done intentionally. The workout facility specifically the treadmills are top notch. As an avid runner I can usually tell when a hotel tries to cut corners on gym equipment but this was not the case with your hotel...well done. I was disappointed the spa was closed on the last day of our visit. My wife and I had planned for a little pool and spa before we checked out but unfortunately the spa was closed for the day. I assume it was to make improvements before a big event checked in for the weekend. Regardless, that was the only negative. May 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hotel Stay My stay at the hotel in May May 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent experience as a new Platinum member. Our first night & stay as a Platinum member was excellent. The staff met all of our needs. We will return to this hotel in the near future. May 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Always Awesome! I've stayed here two times now and will again! My room was great, upgrade to a lake view room, totally worth it! It was beautiful every morning! Two pools, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and paddle boats all worth the resort fee. Lots of events for the kids and very family friendly! Saw a lot of people with dogs too, so I assume pet friendly. MIght want to ask. May 20, 2013
