Rated 5 out of 5 by Downtown Surprise This was my first time at the Westin Downtown. I was surprised by the hotel. It is much nicer than the other Westin hotels in Houston. The staff was very attentive and well-trained. I had a great meal in the restaurant and overall the experience was outstanding. June 1, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great with one exception This was our wedding night and I requested champagne and strawberries to be delivered to the room at 10pm when I made the reservation. 1 to 2 nights prior to our stay, I called and updated the delivery time to 4pm. Unfortunately, upon checking in around 5pm, the delivery had not been made. It was discovered that the update to 4pm was made in a different screen that the hotel uses, i.e. 4pm on the front desk notes screen and 10pm on the guest services screen. I eventually asked that only the strawberries be sent to the room that evening. February 3, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Be PREPARED Would recommend this hotel. Very nice and wonderful staff. However, I thought the $26/day Valet parking was a little high especially when we brought 2 cars and spent a nice weekend together. Was kind of a shocker to see almost $120.00 for 2 day parking for 2 cars downtown. Downtown meaning NO ONE was at work and there was plenty of parking had I known or reminded by Valet guys of the double charge. Not knocking the guys, but the hotel policy and not advising and making sure their customers are aware for double charges for EACH car in addition to the charge for 1 at $26/night. For the $200/night stay figured valet was included……. We tipped only because Valet was great not their fault. Valet was almost 1/3 of my 2 night bill. Not one to call and ask for a refund however I hope to help others if they choose this hotel and only be prepared. December 9, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved our visit to this hotel! We arrived in Houston to visit a local university. Hotel is not far from Hobby Airport. The room was extremely clean and well furnished. We had a corner room which overlooked the stadium. Everything was top rate from the beds to the towels, etc, If our teen decides to go to school here, Westin will be the only place we stay. We travel frequently. This was a top notch Westin. Front Desk employees were wonderful too! February 20, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Miss the baseball motif I miss the old inn at the baseball stadium. Customers are still Astro fans and hotel should reflect that. Prices for quality are inflated! Hotel is not a luxury hotel but is very comfortable. Service is good but not exceptional. April 7, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by What a WONDERFUL Anniversary! I can not speak highly enough about the time that my husband and I spent at the Westin Houston Downtown last weekend! It was our anniversary last weekend, and I wanted to surprise my husband with a special night! A few days before we arrived, I spoke with Kris, the GM, to plan our stay. The arrangements were perfect! My plan was to spend time in the lobby bar before dinner. I did not tell my husband where we would go to dinner, only that it would be a surprise. While we were downstairs, the hotel team worked to transform our room into a dining space. I told my husband that I needed to go back to the room because I forgot something. When we arrived back at the room everything was ready for a four course meal! Oh, was he surprised! Our room service attendant was Louis, who did a smashing job at bringing my dream to life. Everyone, from the front desk staff, to the kitchen staff, and housekeeping went above and beyond to assist me in the surprise for our anniversary. Kris and Louis were the BEST! We had such a great time that we are spending our Thanksgiving holiday at the Downtown Westin as well. Thanks!! BMB November 27, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by An Unforgettable Experience The Westin in Downtown Houston, is by far one of my FAVORITE hotels in the world. My flight had been delayed for 2 days, and I couldn't have picked a better place to chill out and wait to be rerouted. I walked in and was greeted every time. I was treated with respect and care. The food is incredible! I enjoyed using room service, which I don't usually, but since I only had once change of clothes, I decided to just go for it. The Caramelized Apples and Fried Cheese Cake is deadly good! It took me 30 minutes to eat, only because I wanted to savor and enjoy every single bite! The downstairs cafe/restaurant service is just as good as room service. I found myself tipping the staff more than double what the acceptable rate of tipping is. I never do this, except when I feel comfortable and well cared for. I stayed Saturday-Monday and it was very quiet. Not a lot of screaming kids, not a lot of loud rowdy people, which is why you pay for a nice hotel such as the Westin. I am 19 years old, but I have to hotel tastes and preferences of a business-person, since I do own multiple businesses. I don't like cheap, I don't like loud, I like professional and excellent. This hotel exceeded my expectations. This was an unforgettable experience, and I will recommend this hotel to anyone who asks, and even those who don't! I will be raving for years to come. I will defintley be visiting Houston again, and I will stay no where but the Westin in Downtown! January 7, 2014
