Rated 1 out of 5 by SPGTraveler1984 Service is poor and hotel is understaffed
For $565/night at a Westin Resort, we expected a luxury experience. However unfortunately, our experience was far from luxury and did not live up to the Westin brand name by any stretch. The service was poor throughout our trip: hotel staff were either consistently unavailable/not present, or relatively discourteous. When we arrived, the person checking us seemed to not understand something about our rate (though we had a standard rate) which she wouldn't explain to us, and disappeared into the back room for 10 minutes without explanation to figure it out, leaving us standing there alone. When we arrived for brunch at the restaurant on Sunday, the gentleman greeting guests as a host was particularly unfriendly (and clearly needed more assistance/additional staffing). During our brunch on the patio, dozens of birds were sitting on unoccupied tables waiting to pounce on any leftover food (making clear that our table had almost certainly been covered with birds right before we arrived), and no one seemed to be doing anything about it. There was only 1 waiter for the entire outdoor section, so we had to hunt him down by walking around the restaurant to get our check when we were ready to leave. When we tried to speak with a concierge in the lobby about recommendations for a hiking in the area, there was no one at the desk and we stood waiting for 15 minutes for them to come back. When we would leave and return from the hotel, despite the fact that valet service is included in our parking rate there was almost never a valet assistant there to take or retrieve our car; we would stand and wait for someone to return to the valet post. While we were checking out, the valets that had retrieved our car stood by and ignored us and instead chatted with each other while we loaded the bags into the cars ourselves, making no effort to assist us even though there were no other guests that needed to be attended too. Overall, the service was very poor for nearly every aspect of our stay. We will not be coming back to this hotel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by redsmd Great customer service. Even though we had a garden-view room, it still had an ocean-view out the back window
Did not see a show. Spent most of our stay exploring the island

Rated 3 out of 5 by CKJM Your status makes no difference
They are not trying to impress you and they certainly don't care if you are a Starwood Gold member. If they did, they wouldn't give you a 1st floor "upgrade" that is 5 steps from someone's car and when you aren't going to pay for said upgrade (and told them so prior to check in) they make you move to a room that overlooks a service area/garbage/air conditioning unit or something extremely unattractive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bigbruin81 Wonderfully relaxing week for the family
Westin Princeville provides all of the amenities we expected, with well-appointed rooms (full kitchen is worth its weight!), warm pools, clean, spacious grounds, good food, and attentive, friendly service. Kaua'i is a daytime playground for outdoor activities, and we took full advantage of the nearby beautiful beaches, sailing the Na'pali coast, and exploring historic sites. Only downside to this location: no immediate beach access. The short shuttle ride to beach at St. Regis is not as convenient as walking from your room or pool right into the surf, as one can do at other Hawai'i resorts. Nonetheless, would highly recommend Westin Princeville for a relaxing and fun time on Kaua'i.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RIK2014 Wonderful second experience
A fantastic villa hotel. Breathtaking views and pristine overall ambience on the grounds. Units are comfortable with all necessary amenities. I would suggest that they replace dishwashers and lower the microwaves. Service is impeccable. Front desk and concierge friendly. Beautiful beaches are within close proximity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Mahalo! What an amazing team!
I just got back from a 10 night stay at the resort, and had an amazing time with my wife and daughter and her sister's family. The rooms are modern, and up-to-date, and well stocked with cooking supplies. The BBQs on site are cleaned every morning like clockwork and are all pristine. The pools were quiet and picturesque, and the grounds were as photographed - lush, green and perfect.
Where this hotel really shines though, is it's amazing staff. The servers on site felt like family members by the end of our stay. Our server at breakfast most mornings was Darcy, and she made our group feel more than welcome, remembering our juice selections, joking about video games, and going above and beyond to help find my 2 year old her favourite Granola - what a star!
Poolside, Nancy was our go-to every day, remembering our favourite orders (for all 7 of us!) and importantly reminding us when happy hour started :-) . The kids really loved her too and she was always patient and quick, whether we were ordering lunch, or just a glass of water.
We loved this visit to Kauai, but what made it memorable was the people. Great job!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Cherr Disappointed
Bed was VERY comfortable and room was great size. Disappointed: no view, hot sandwich from Market was cold on inside, handicap parking kept being taken by non handicapped vehicles (I looked), tv acted funny during a show, sofa bed not that comfortable and when 3rd person of our party used bathroom the light could not be blocked out from the bedroom due to shutters that didn't close completely nor could the noise.
