This Westin has the best location in Madrid. The rooms and the bed were very comfortable. The restaurant La Rotonda was very good with great service.

My wife and I were very pleased with the Madrid Palace. The stained glass dome in the rotunda created a wonderful public space, and our room was large and well furnished. The location across from the Prado is hard to beat. A nice place for those who enjoy classic hotels.

If you would like to stay in Madrid, please pick up this hotel as your the first choice. It has very good location near Sol Square and reach by walking. This hotel also has more than 100 year history. You must eat breakfast in their beautiful historic restaurant.

Excellent employees and staff. They stive to take very good care of customers. Two minor recommenations for improvement:
Check in was a bit confusing and took quite a while. With group already registered, I would recommend taking luggage at front, handing out keys and sending lugguge to rooms. Also, hotel did not appear to give any recognition for SPG membership. Our room was a poor location and may have been slighly inferior to some others in the group who were non SPG members. The loyalty program shou

What a fab hotel and location. The Conceirge team were incredibly helpful in securing tickets and making restaurant reservations..
It was a shame that a suite wasn't available for my stay to celebrate my 50th birthday.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Travelmaniac Finest staff in all of Europe
I'm a very frequent traveler to Europe. I cannot express enough the absolute fantastic service I had at the Westin. Great location, close to everything. Gorgeous hotel in every aspect.
The breakfast buffet was fantastic (recommended to all travelers). But the point that really distinguishes this hotel is the incredible staff. Always helpful, always available when you need them. No request was too much for them.

Mr. Bolis is the best Front Office Manager in the business. The Housekeeping staff has poor communication with international guests (due to language barrier); however, the Front Desk and Service Express personnel earn high marks for professionalism. The day-to-day management of the breakfast area (which is a major attraction here) could be much improved.

This was by far the best stay at any hotel we've ever had!!I visited my daughter in Madrid and she stayed with me at the hotel. We felt so special The service was outstanding and the hotel is beautiful. A palace!! The manager was so thoughtful and made sure she was around to say hello to the guests and was so pleasant. She also dealt with any issues that would arise personally and professionally. Loved Loved Loved the Westin Palace.

While we had some minor issues with the AC, The hotel and staff were wonderful. The AC issue was fixed by the way. Everyone was tremendous. The hotel could not be in a better location with a ton of food, sightseeing and shopping options. Madrid is a beautiful international city and my only regret is it took me so long to get there. Easy airport access.
I'd like to thank the hotel management and all the individuals from the front desk, service and maid staff for a great visit.

Stayed at this great hotel a few years ago, and have been raving about it since. The location is perfect. The staff was very attentive and patient with my poor Spanish, and the room was classically detailed but with all the modern stuff too. The rooftop deck is the picture I chose for my card. I am bringing my niece to Spain in October for her birthday, A return to the Palace will be one of the highlights for me and I hope for her too.

We've stayed at this property six or seven times over the last few years and have never been disappointed!
From the front desk to the concierge , the bellman to housekeeping everyone is extremely professional and accommodating . While we generally don't eat in a lot of hotel restaurants, we made an exception for this hotel's Asian Palace and were not disappointed. We had arguably the best Chinese meal we' ve had outside of Beijing! We sprang for the most expensive tasting menus available ( I think 8 courses ) and the only criticism we can offer is that the portions were just
too generous. This is one of Starwoods best!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Alan22 This hotel turns 100 this year and looks it!
As an SPG member I am impressed with the number of facilities around the world. The Westin Palace in Madrid simply does not reflect the standards of a supposed 5 star property. The room we had was not cleaned, the wallpaper was peeling, the ceiling was peeling over the shower, the bath fixture was not secured to the wall properly, the bed was uncomfortably soft, and the food was mediocre at best.
I would recommended razing this 100 year old dinasour and starting all over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by David83 Beautiful hotel in the heart of Madrid
I stayed at the Palace Hotel for one night last week (February 23rd) and wished I could have extended my stay based on the quality of the hotel. It is an old historic hotel that has been beautifully restored with a fantastic location across from the Bornemisza and Prado museums. Easy walk to the Gran Via and exceptional tapas bars. I would definitely recommend opting for the breakfast (over Starpoints) which is served in the lobby restaurant underneath a glass cupola – great quality of food and service. I really appreciated the Starwood Platinum recognition as well – upon arrival in my room I received two bottles of mineral water, three chocolate truffles, a souvenir, and a hand written note from the General manager. I will return!

My go to choice in Madrid from now on. I could not fault it. I travel a lot and always conscious of where I'll be staying. Wish all hotels globally benchmarked themselves again the Westin Palace. I only wish they had a Spa.

The Westin Madrid exceeded al of our expectations. The hotel is beautiful and our Suite was magnificent. The staff from the front desk to Aurelia at the concierge were always cheerful and helpful. We were there for our anniversary, and the Manager sent up two bottles of champaigne which was very thoughtful. Lastly the location of the hotel was perfect. We wouldn't change a thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rich2809 Wonderful old fashioned hotel
I love this hotel. It is not modern, it is not trendy, the food is not stunning, it is not jammed with iPod players etc, it does not claim to be child friendly but the Westin Palace Hotel is a destination. It is a grand hotel.
The service is great, the suites are just so relaxing. The staff always make me feel welcomed. I have never experienced any problems with check in or check out or with the rooms. Doorman always greets me, never had any of the taxi problems people describe.
Travel, for me is not always about a free breakfast or a club lounge. Stay here and soak up the atmosphere, go out in the evening to one of the hundreds of tapas bars, have a glass or two of wine, you will love it.
At 8.30 it was only 35 minutes from the airport by taxi.
Location is second to none.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Neoteros Just fabulous
The Spanish lower house of the parliament is 100 meters away, the Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza is right in front of the hotel, while the Prado is few hundred meters away. Practically all the main touristic attractions in Madrid are at a walking distance. This facility just could not be in a better position to visit the city. The building is just fabulous, inside and outside.
I was granted with a full platinum recognition: junior suite (luxurious and as big as a flat), complimentary breakfast - not limited to the continental one, and of incredibly good quality - and Wi-Fi.
Staff was incredibly responsive and supportive, since the welcome email I received when I booked the room, with all the information on the best tapas bars & restaurants, and the best places for flamenco shows or jazz concerts.
In order to spend a long week-end in Madrid my choice could not be any better!

I am always impressed by this hotel. I have been a guest at this hotel many times over the last 10 years and am always impressed by the staff and the way they treat their guest. On my recent stay, on 24 and 25 December, they went above and beyond and treated my family to wonderful stay. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone staying in Madrid.
Furthermore, the rooms and location are beyond compare whether you are just visiting, on business or focused on taking in all the great culture that Madrid has to offer.

I stayed at the westin palace, madrid
this summer for 3 nights and I had a really wonderful experience. As a platinum member I was upgraded to spatious junior suite and compted for breakfast buffet which also was good. The best thing about this hotel is its strategic location for art lovers. It is near all three major museums of Madrid. Prado is within walking distance and Museo Reina Sofia was close as well. If you are a platinum member, I would definitely recommend for you to stay in this hotel.

Excelent service from start to finish. Complimenttary drinks were provided in the lounge when our room was not ready upon arrival. The attention to detail was reinforced when a bottle of champaign and chocolate covered strawberries were delivered to the room. Wonderful stay all the way through!

Palace Hotel of 1912 is not only a historical icon for Madrid, is today still relevant. A thousand thanks to the concierge who helped me fulfill my courtroom legal duties while out of the country. My best tip.. Pay the extra money and get the junior suite (room 624) next to presidential suite (where Hilary Clinton stayed ). The view from that upfront but "hidden" is one you will never forget . Bring your love. It will change everything.
