We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was at your hotel. The staff was incredible....so helpful and kind. The front desk, concierge, wait staff at restaurant...all so wonderful. We cannot wait to come back!

Perfect location in a very upscale but historic building in the center of Madrid! Could not have enjoyed our 2 nights in Madrid more had it not been for the service and attention we received at this hotel. Very helpful for all questions we had as first timers to the city.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very professional. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will recommend to friends. The one thing I would have liked to see in this hotel is a swimming pool. But the spa was great.

The hotel did not meet my expectations, at all. One would expect more from one of the finest hotels in Madrid.
Decoration and atmosphere need an update.
Very few amenities in the toilet, no slippers in the room.
Breakfast less than average.

This is the second year in a row I have stayed at the Westin Palace in Madrid and the second year in a row where I have had an issue with the front desk. Last year I was waiting in the Gold/Platinum line and the agent decided to let someone who was not in the line come to the front to be checked in ahead of us who had been waiting. This year I arrived after 4PM and was told my room still needed to be cleaned. I was surprised by this since my SPG Ambassador notified them I would be arriving at before 2PM but accepted a coupon for a drink in the bar. The front desk clerk told me she would come and get me once my room was ready. After waiting about an hour I went to the front desk and was told my room was ready at which point I noticed my room had been downgraded. When I asked the front desk agent what had happened I was told that the room was still occupied and the current guest would not be leaving until 8PM. Of course, the front desk clerk never mentioned my room was no longer an executive suite. I noticed the change when signing the new check in form.
I find it difficult to believe the original person who checked me in was not aware of the issue sooner and I was not pleased that I was made to wait an hour for the downgraded room that was most likely available an hour earlier. When I eventual made it to the room I sent an e-mail to my Ambassador regarding the issue. The issues at this hotel were extremely frustrated and make me question the value of staying 100+ nights a year at one hotel chain. To the hotel's credit, they made several attempts to contact me during the stay and offered compensation. I explained I was not looking for compensation and wanted to express my frustration with the situation and to also let them know I would escalate the issue with Starwood upon my return home.

This hotel is centrally located within walking distance to Museums, Shopping and Food. Excellent rooms and staff is very attentive. The two shortcoming are lack of a club level and therefore no club benefits for Platinum SPG members and the lack of tea/coffee maker in the room. The one complementary coffee is not enough.

Love this property, great location. Central to everywhere I wanted to go, gorgeous building, spacious and comfortable rooms. Had the best night's sleep I've had in months!
Staff is also incredibly welcoming and helpful -- will always choose this property whenever I am in Madrid!

Location was perfect. got upgraded at check in . Upgraded again at an additional charge. Had an executive suite and a regular room adjoining. the adjoining regular room was pretty beat up, mouldings, paint, and wallpaper had heavy use, but was clean. Good, not great. The suite was in slightly better shape but also not what I would expect of an SPG luxury property. peeling paint on the ceiling of the bathroom , peeling wallpaper, etc. Also, room service ordered was never quite right, nothing huge but annoying. And as far as I am concerned, when on vacation, I do not want to be annoyed. Nothing huge, but for the price you have to pay at that hotel, should not be the case. Also, the last night, the ac in the master bedroom crapped out. Greatest location available. Walk to everything you need to.
Overall, a good time, but fell short of a great luxury hotel experience.

Impressive building in fabulous central location with friendly helpful staff. Only negative comment, was strong smell of cigarettes in the bedroom, which is not pleasant for a non smoker. Otherwise perfect.

In a hotel room where a tiny soda costs 10 dollars one may expect two matching chairs. The room was huge but the window was small. The outside balconies were fake. There was nowhere to sit down if you are a couple. When you walk out, you are really in the middle of the events and the restaurant was grand, too. The champagne breakfast every day made our spirits soar. But don't count on hauling your own luggage, stairs and steps are omnipresent.

I stayed at this hotel in June of 2014. I used my suite night award upgrade for 2 nights and I was so glad I did as I had an amazing two room, 1.5 bath corner suite with stunning views of the fountain. The breakfast was very average as was the breakfast service. I actually had one of the waiters take my coffee as I was standing at the buffet grabbing food. The gym is severely lacking as well but I guess people don't care much about working out at this hotel. I like to stay fit so it is very important to me. Nice touch my the hotel to provide a bottle of champagne as it was my honeymoon. Overall, I had a wonderful stay with my husband and would definitely go back should my travel plans call for Madrid in the future. Thank you to the Westin Palace.

Fantastic hotel! We did a lot of walking in Madrid and found the Westin very convenient to all of the best sights ie the Prado, Reina Sofia and the Royal Palace as well as the subway. At the end of the day our room was large, spacious and relaxing for our family of 3. We were lucky to get a Junior Suite and the staff made sure it was clean and refreshed daily. For a hotel with a long history, our room was modern and updated. It was very luxurious and quiet. We ate breakfast every morning under the beautiful domed dining room. The buffet had a huge selection and was well worth the cost. The staff was very attentive to our needs. It was a wonderful place to enjoy of visit to Madrid.

On my next visit to Spain I will definitely stay at this propety! The location is great and most of all the staff! Ricardo from the Concierge was great he answered all of my questions and helped me locate my suitcase with the airline.The staff in the restaurant were amazing and made my stay fabulous.... the menu there is great. I have stayed at quite a few iconic hotels. The service here is surpassed by none. I was greeted warmly upon my arrival and was remembered by staff from a previous stay. The rooms are gracious and comfortable and spacious. Breakfast here is a treat not only for the food, but also the beauty of the room and the attentiveness of the staff. The newly opened Green Tea sushi restaurant is superb. The location is perfect for museum hopping and shopping, etc. This is a wonderful hotel.

We had not planned to stay in Madrid at all, opting instead to go straight to Barcelona to begin our European adventure, but at the last minute we decided to spend two nights in Madrid. To think that we almost missed this incredible hotel! It is the way grand hotels USED to be! We loved everything about this palace of a property and will no doubt return here at some point in the future. DO NOT MISS THIS HOTEL!
