I took my 9 year old daughter with me to Spain (from the US) for a very special long weekend vacation. We were quite excited to stay at the Westin Palace, as it looked incredible on the website.
This hotel did not disappoint! We were thoroughly impressed, the place is, well, like a Palace. Beautiful inside and out, the gym is great, the rooms were spacious and well appointed. We only had one problem: our room was on the first floor, and there was a loud party going on, so a bit noisy in the room. However, we explained the problem at the front desk and we were quickly switched to another room on a higher floor. Such a great place, it really made the whole trip wonderful for us, and I hope I get a chance to stay there again.

Just cannot say enough about the welcome and the service, The entire staff went above and beyond any unreasonable expectation to make our visit memorable. From the greeting and welcome on arrival, to the attention to food allergies in the dining room to the small in room touches to make our trip special. An outstanding hotel with a great staff that truly understands the meaning of hospitality.

What a great place to stay in Madrid. Close enough to the main squares of interest and the Prado is across the street, yet far enough away from the crowd to make it a relaxing stay in a bustling city. I really cannot say enough about just how wonderful a stay we had.

Great facility. Marvelous feel. Great features in common and eating areas. Troubled that guests still get charged for use of WiFi, many hotels in SPG chain no pinger charge, annoying when rates are significant; was part of a group with 60 plus who also used conference facilities for five days, WiFi in today's world needs to be free for guest. Hotel bar a lovely and quaint place.

This hotel is well appointed with a better than average fitness facility and stunning location. We had an amazing room overlooking the Pl.de las Cortes and the Prado museum was across the street. Other local attractions within easy walking distance included the Parque del Retiro (a real gem!), Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Palacio Real de Madrid. The Concierge team was exceptionally helpful and the entire staff was friendly. If you are inclined to use the local Metro it is located a mere one block away.

You cannot have a better location in Madrid, or better room product, cleanliness, safety, buffet breakfast, business center and concierge for the rates you pay at the Palace. Great character. One of Starwood's best hotels when it comes to connecting the hotel experience with the destination... but please don't take it too personal when the servers at the bar give you a cold and rude service. It is a matter of culture not a matter of brand... embrace it and enjoy it...the service at the restaurant will be so warm that you will easily forget the night before.

I'm SPG Platinum. Got upgraded to a junior suite, which was great. The hotel is elegant and the suite is large and nice. But the services at the hotel is mediocre:
- Taxi arrived at the front door. No one from hotel helped for luggage not to mention opening the door for you.
- No lounge room, no free breakfast for Platinum member.
- Housekeeper didn't refill everything in the bathroom, even when some are completely gone
- I didn't know there is a complimentary bottle of water until the 2nd day as they didn't give me on the 1st day.
- Bathroom tissue is more like tissues you found in a motel, not a 5-star hotel
- Call express service for a housekeeper request. Was told someone was coming but no one showed.
Overall, great hotel, but services have a lot to be desired as a 5-star.
