Vieques Airport (VQS) is easily accessible from San Juan International Airport (SJU) with direct connections on Cape Air (airline code 9K), Vieques Air Link and Seaborne Airlines; Estimated flight time is 18 minutes. Until further notice the Plunge Pool will be closed for renovations.
Age Requirement Policy
Guests must be 21 years or older with a valid photo ID to check-in.
Connecting Room Policy
The resort offers connecting options for a few specific room types, based on availability at check-in. Connecting rooms may be guaranteed in advance for an additional fee during certain times of year; however, the appropriate room types must be booked. For details please contact email@example.com
Extra Bedding Policy
Our Whatever/Whenever® service will be thrilled to provide a crib for our wee guests, available by request. The crib measures 40” x 43” x 28” and features a steel frame with a four-inch foam mattress. Airbed mattresses are also available by request only in select king-bed rooms and all suites—one per room, for a fee of 40 USD per day. Per fire code policy, an airbed mattress is not allowed in a room with two beds. Rollaway beds are not available. A 45 USD charge will also be added for the third person per room. Please advise of your needs while making your reservation.
Suite Night Award Cancellation Policy
Suite Night Award requests may be cancelled until 2 p.m. local hotel time the day before you arrive, as long as the Awards have not already been confirmed for use on a reservation. Once your Awards have been confirmed, you must cancel the entire reservation to be credited back all the Awards; however, after 3 p.m. local hotel time the day before you arrive, a reservation cancellation will result in the forfeiture of all Suite Night Awards applied to the entire reservation. This is in addition to any other cancellation penalties applicable to the reservation itself.
Check-In & Checkout Policies
Early Arrival Policy
We invite guests to check in at 4pm—early arrivals are granted upon request, subject to availability. Luggage storage is available through Whatever/Whenever®.
Early Departure Policy
An early departure fee of one night's room and tax applies to guests checking out prior to their departure date confirmed at check-in.
The hotel will accept any government-issued photo ID at the time of check-in, such as a passport or valid driver's licence, with a corresponding credit card.
Late Checkout Policy
Late checkout can be arranged upon request for a fee, based on availability. Please contact Whatever/Whenever® to request a late checkout.
The hotel is compliant with federal government regulations for the Americans with Disabilities Act. Room amenities include TDD, close-captioned TV, handrails in bathroom by the bathtub and toilet, lowered toilet seats, roll-in showers, lower door peepholes and handicap parking. Please contact our Whatever/Whenever® service for TDD equipment set-up.
Alcoholic beverage service is restricted to those 18 years or older with valid ID.
Hurricane season officially extends from June 10th through November 30th each year. In the event of a hurricane* on Vieques, W Retreat & Spa will replace a guest's vacation for the entire duration of the reservation (this guarantee applies to room and applicable taxes). This policy applies to transient reservations and groups as stipulated in their contracts - please check the terms of your reservation for specific conditions or exceptions.
The stipulations that apply are as follows:
Replacement vacation must be taken at W Retreat & Spa - Vieques Island within one calendar year. Reservations for comparable accommodations will be made per availability. Blackout dates do apply (as determined in our sole discretion).
Any commission owed to travel agents will be paid on the stay interrupted by the hurricane.
Other expenses including, but not limited to, air fares, food and beverage, and/or chartered services are not included in or covered by this guarantee.
The guarantee offered by Starwood Hotels and Resorts is subject to change at the discretion of the operator at any time without notice.
Guests holding confirmed and fully deposited reservations (and are within the non-refundable deposit window) that are unable to travel to the resort due to a hurricane* closing the airport or hotel will be given the option of a full refund or a one-level room category upgrade, based on availability, on their next visit to the hotel within one calendar year.
*A hurricane is defined/validated by the National Hurricane Center, typically a tropical cyclone in which the maximum sustained surface wind is 74 mph (64 knots) or greater.
Package Handling Policy
We are happy to accept, hold and ship packages on behalf of hotel guests for a handling fee. Please contact our Whatever/Whenever® service for more information on surcharges.
We welcome cats and dogs 40 pounds or less. Guests must sign a waiver upon check-in and will be charged $25 per pet per day above the room rate. There is also a non-refundable $100 cleaning fee regardless of length of stay.
Health & Well-Being Policies
We strictly enforce a no-smoking policy throughout all designated hotel guest rooms (including private patios and balconies) and public spaces. A $200 deep cleaning fee will apply to any guest for smoking in rooms or on patios/balconies that are designated non-smoking. Please contact the hotel for more information.
Check Cashing Policy
Check cashing is allowed with a maximum per day of $100 dollars for non-SPG guests and a maximum of $300 per stay for platinum SPG guests. A valid major credit card with photo identification is required.
Credit/Debit Card Policy
Debit and Credit cards will be authorized at check-in for the amount of your stay, plus an amount to cover incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until check out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged. Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your bank or financial institution and the hotel will not be responsible for any resulting fees or charges.
Rates confirmed in USD are guaranteed in U.S. dollars when paid in U.S. cash or traveler's checks. Payments made by credit cards at the hotel will be charged in the local currency equivalent based on the daily exchange rate used by the hotel. Currency conversions by banks or credit card companies in processing payments are not within the control of the hotel and are subject to exchange rate fluctuations.

We require a major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diner's Club and Carte Blanche) to be presented at check-in. Guests who prefer to use debit cards should note that full payment is taken from the card at the time of reservation. While cash is also accepted, an additional incidentals deposit of $200 is required. We do not accept third party authorization forms.
Resort Charge Policy
A daily resort charge of 60 USD plus tax per room will be charged on all reservations. This charge covers toll-free and local phone calls, wireless High Speed Internet Access, self-parking, a welcome experience and refreshments at the W Lounge at Antonio Rivera Rodriguez Airport (VQS), land roundtrip transfers between the airport and the resort, daily yoga class, access to SWING (tennis courts) and FIT gym, beach umbrellas, and non-motorized sports equipment (fins, masks, kayaks, floaters, and tennis equipment).
