Rated 4 out of 5 by Creepy Bathroom Locale and Set up There was one factor which stood out for me the entire time I stayed at your hotel. As it got later, the location and set up of the bathroom near the bar set unsafe and almost scary. The location is off the beaten path, no one can view me entering nor exiting and then there is an anteroom which has a couch, Why? if that's the protocol then at least take away that heavy door which would mitigate any sounds, just in case a woman is followed into the bathroom. I felt as if it wasn't safe to go to the restroom without an escort. This really needs to be addressed posthaste. Unless you would rather leave it as be and eventually have to react to a situation, rather than be Proactive and address it before it happens. June 29, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by its all in the details Great hotel stay, but they lack an attention to details. No concierge on duty - the entire five days, I had to call and leave a message which he/she never returned the call. Housekeeping was very unreliable. Came back from meetings one day at 6pm and the room was still unmade. The next day they shook the pillows out and feathers were all over the room and they didnt bother to vaccuum them up. The carpet had sticky areas and really needed to be cleaned. July 2, 2014

We decided to spend an overnight romantic getaway at the W-Midtown hotel. The W-Midtown is the perfect place for adults to have a romantic getaway and experience the midtown Atlanta nightlife! We found the hotel staff to be very hospitable and the facility itself was amazing with the modern furniture and amenities. Close to several night life hot spots (many within walking distance of the hotel) we know we'll be back! June 30, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Our Stay at the W-Midtown, Atlanta My husband and I were in Atlanta for the weekend to attend my brother's wedding., We stayed at the W Hotel and we must say it was an excellent experience. All the employees were so helpful and the customer service was absolutely great! The hotel was very clean and the food was very good. The night life was so much fun. We look forward to our next visit to Atlanta and of course our stay at the W-Midtown. June 30, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by The hotel staff was unsatisfactory A Beautiful hotel with disappointing customer service. From beginning to end of my stay was not a good one. From not able to find the hotel because there is no signage off of the building or street signs to identify the hotel, to no instructions given on how to operate the elevator prior to being shown where it is, to having to wait to check in because the finance dept failed to process a pre-authorization form they received several days prior, to valet bringing me the wrong car and the tv not working after reporting it to a technician, and finally being charged for the munchie bar in which I did not consume. Customer service was terrible and the representatives were not helpful at all. June 20, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed While the hotel staff was friendly, I have high expectations of a W Hotel, and from the moment I walked in the door, I was simply not impressed. It felt like I had stepped back into the 80's and was watching Miami Vice. While I could appreciate the goal to be a bit more hip and "club-like," it simply wasn't my taste, and felt more old and outdated than a cool contemporary hotspot. While I wasn't wild about the reception area, when I arrived at my room located right off the elevator, I was even more disappointed. I walked in the door. The rug was a dark purple (which just looked gross), then stepping into the bedroom area with black painted wooden built-ins and a very unfortunate purple/pink flower back splash behind the desk and on each side of the bed, it seemed to get worse. My window looked over the top of the building below with zero view of the city and everything just felt so dark and dingy. The desk lighting did not work and I was unable to pull up the shade on the window. Bottom line, my expectations of a W Hotel are high, and this one did not even come close to what I had anticipated- clean, sophisticated and stylish. I was just glad I was traveling for business and I had not made this reservation as a get-away for myself and my husband or friends. June 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good stay, but charged for a room i didn't reserve Charged for a room I didn't reserve. I called to ask if one of my staff would be able to get a room if she came. They told me they would put her as my guest, which meant that she would share a room. I called the week before my stay to make sure that a room was not reserved for the person. I was assured that the person was listed as my guest to share a room with me. I also double checked on my arrival to make sure no other rooms were in my name. I was assured both times, when I made the phone call and when I arrived, that no other rooms were in my name. Upon checking out, I received a folio saying that I had a room with a no show status and a charge. I have called repeatedly about this with no return call. Please remove this charge from my card. The only charge I should have is for room 1113, from 6/16-6/19, of $558.84. June 20, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Customer Service I'm a Platinum SPG and normally receive great customer service when I stay at this location. I have stayed here over 10 times and usually bring friends with me but never again. There were so many issues with this stay, I don't know where to begin. No SPG recognition, no sleep on the first night due to kids partying and running the halls all night, call the front desk to complain and nothing resolved, had to request to be relocated the next day, and charged bill to wrong credit card (couldn't be fixed because the finance dept. wasn't open). Manager promised to follow up and never did nor did the General Manager. I will take my business elsewhere. If you are a professional that requires rest and quiet time when on vacation, stay away from this hotel. May 28, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by maybe I shouldn't reveal our secret... but the W Midtown is THE absolute best place to stay if you are running the Peacthree Road Race. We stay at the W Midtown every year - great location, amazing beds (I always get a great night's sleep on the W Bed) and a gracious, cool staff that goes above and beyond. The fact that the hotel has coffee and snacks for runners ready at 5am shows that they truly understand and anticipate what their guests will need. The only negatives I would say are the cost of parking - even on a holiday ($30) and the lack of SPG recognition as we've never received an upgrade as SPG Gold. But still, we love this hotel and can't wait to come back! June 5, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Typical (Older) W Experience Checked in on Sunday. As a Platinum, was not offered an upgrade, but did not insist. However, ran into a flight crew in the elevator after dinner that did get an upgrade, so a little disappointed it didn't go to a Starwood member. Valet was very good throughout my stay, and my vehicle was ready as requested. My room was perfectly comfortable, albeit a little dark, However, most (i.e. more than half) of the lightbulbs in the room were burnt out and inoperative. That said, room service was very fast and efficient, and the hotel delivered all of the newspapers requested. The gyn was also perfectly acceptable. However, the hotel totally muffed on reporting my stay, and I had to contact SPG to get my Starwood points correctly posted. Great location, but meh. November 1, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by WORST Customer Service Ever By far, this was the worst W Hotel I've stayed at throughout the US. I thought that W Hotels were held at the same standard across the world. A large group of us stayed here over this past weekend and was part of a wedding block. Every single one of us had major issues with this hotel and its staff. 1. I called in the night before the request an early check-in since the wedding started at 2pm. The person on the phone told me that it shouldn’t be an issue – of course its not a guarantee but shouldn’t be an issue. Never did this person check the system to realize that they were SOLD out the night before and that may be a red flag and bring that to my attention. 2. We arrive to check in – of course our rooms are not ready. We were informed that they were sold out the night before. OK – come back at 3:45 pm ET. One of our rooms was ready – the other was not. But that’s because platinum guests get the option of a 4pm check-out so they get priority? REALLY? That’s not our issue – that’s the hotel’s issue. Whether we are or are not a platinum member, we’re still a guest and your check-in time is at 3:00 pm. One of get our rooms and check in. 3. They tell us that even though the room is not ready – we will have the adjoining room set-up for our other friend so that when it is ready, we can just go right next door. At 3:45 pm, they pre-check us in the system as having the room next door. 4. Oh – and probably to the bride’s chagrin, we don’t receive our welcome package from anyone at the front desk. 5. We return back to check in our final party – this is around 5:30 – they’ve put our friend on the a whole different floor away from the rest of us and when we were told that she had the adjoining room right next door! What happened? They gave the room away? OK – after much battling, they put her back on the same floor as us – just down the hall. Meanwhile – all day while we are dealing with this, not one time do we get an apology from the front desk person. He walks away from us without telling us he’ll be right back after he checks on something. COMPLETELY RUDE! And all day, while preparing to attending a wedding and reception, we are shuffling from room to room to change and get ready all day. VERY INCONVENIENT. In the meanwhile, every single time we call down early for our car, its never there (until the last day on Sunday when we leave). So we end up waiting 30 mins each time for the car – what’s the point of calling down? Our TV in room doesn’t work – the remote or even pushing the manual on/off button on the back of the TV.\ And the other ½ of our group, who arrived on Friday have more stories to tell – they plan on posting a review of their own and writing a letter to the general manager too. Not until we spoke to the manager did we feel that someone listened to us – she took the parking off our bill and also reduced our friend’s room rate by $50. But at the end of the day, this was seriously the WORST W that I’ve stayed at and will never recommend that anyone stay here as well. Customer service was non-existent. October 25, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Stay and Service Arrived at the hotel on a Wednesday evening. Check-in was quick and simple, and I was upgraded to 1902, a Marvelous Suite, without asking. The suite itself was very comfortable, and the HVAC worked well, keeping me well chilled. The rooms are in reasonably good shape, but are starting to show wear and tear on the margin. Check out was equally fast and simple, although I had to ask to have the internet charge removed from my bill. Consistently good place to stay in Midtown. June 15, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor management Your hotel was filthy. I have never stayed at such a poorly run W Hotel. We had to switch rooms 3 times. (causing me to loose a pair of my prescription glasses) I had to have the room service come back to properly clean my room after finding a dirty toilet and windows in our new room. The manager said that they would check back with us to make sure things were fixed, but we never heard back from them. When I called about my glasses I was immediately told that they were not found. I honestly think that they didn't even look. Not one ice machine worked on the floors that we were on. Then we were charged to get a bucket delivered. The lobby was dirty and uneventful compared to other W hotels we have stayed at. The guy who was spray painting the plants outside to make them look green again was too funny. What a mess. Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing Stay in Atlanta The good news is staff is friendly and, for the most part, efficient. On the surface, the property seems to be clean with good attention to detail however, carefully scrutiny would often suggests otherwise. The bad news is the hotel is getting “tired” and needs attention to things like room furnishings, finishes, other fixed assets and the WiFi (way too slow). My TV did not work properly (batteries in the controller were weak), there were no umbrellas (it was raining the morning of 17 Oct when I left for a breakfast meeting a few blocks away). Parking @ $32 is egregious in my view. The folks try hard but this is not nearly the standard one should expect at this price point. In the end, a real disappointment for me. October 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfort and Service Checked in on a Sunday evening. Valet was quick and efficient, as was checking in with the front desk. Platinum status was acknowledged and I was upgraded to 2214, a fantastic suite on the 22nd floor. Room was very comfortable the AC worked well, no issues with internet connectivity, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The valet was quick to deliver my car later Sunday evening and again on Monday morning. Grabbed a quick bite in the morning at Spice Market, and while the menu is somewhat limited, the food was very good and service quick and efficient. September 4, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Bathroom Sink faucet impossible to regulate. Needs rocket scientist to figure out. Splashes all over guest and counter top as soon as it is barely turned on. Sink too high. Shower also almost impossible to use. Nothing of any kind in shower stall to hold onto. You don't have to be old or disabled to appreciate the inclusion of a bar or hook. Whoever designed this bathroom and chose the fixtures (or lack thereof) should be fired. What were you thinking? June 11, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Huge Disappointment I was terribly disappointed in particular that this was my first W stay and was highly anticipated. Room was huge disappointment: - walls scuffed and chipped. - carpet worn, and a few stains. - bedside phone inoperable (was fixed next day) - 2 of 4 bulbs burned out over desk (not fixed but I left another note when I left) - desk furniture chipped and warped (maybe an iron was set on it?) - clock radio not broken but unplugged, which necessitated a voyage under the bed - I wish I hadn't as needed vacuuming. - and the coup de grace was the filthy top sheet, grossly stained and covered with makeup right where my face was - I missed it as I checked in very late and went right to bed. I have to believe the linens were NOT changed prior to my arrival. Not sure where the service/housekeeping and engineering lack originated. Materials left for me at the front desk were not provided when I checked in. My staff collected it the next day and I did get a nice apology from hotel. Banquet food was good (service was a bit confused, maybe our fault) and the meeting rooms were fine. November 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Service was fabulous I was at the W for a conference and all week we were very pleased with the service. As we were getting into our car to leave after checking out, a bellhop ran up to the car and asked if one of us was missing a cell phone. Turns out my friend had left hers in the room and someone had gone back in, seen it, brought it down to the desk and found us before we left. I can only imagine how much time that would have added to our trip if we'd been several hours down the interstate before we discovered it was missing! June 8, 2014

I would call it sexy and young a step ahead of the banality that you find in run of the mill generic hotel rooms all over the US. The only fault I can bring your attention to is the noise both when you check in and housekeeping staff! June 9, 2014
