Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stay in Paris! My husband and I traveled to Paris in January 2016 for a weekend getaway. We didn't have anything specific planned, except enjoy the sights and eat good food. Thomas, the W insider - was extremely helpful with his suggestions on places to eat, markets to visit, and where to find gifts to bring back home. When we return to Paris, we plan on returning to this hotel. February 3, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Starwood in Paris! Very stylish hotel, comfortable, well appointed rooms that are small, but cleverly designed to maximize comfort. We stayed for 5 nights, and did not feel cramped. The concierge staff is the best part of this hotel- they are just wonderful, so responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. They went above and beyond on a daily basis. We've stayed at several other Starwood properties in Paris, and the W is by far the best choice. January 11, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by a solid W hotel a quick stayover in Paris - i was going to be at the hotel for only two nights, but booked the room for three nights to guarantee that a room was available after my 6am flight arrived at CDG. i saw on the app that my room was assigned, and check-in was smooth at that early hour. i booked a wonderful room, and was upgraded to a spectacular room as a platinum with a superb view of the Palais Garnier. the room itself had a great view and was comfortable, but it was very small. nevertheless, it met our needs. i was hoping to be upgraded to a suite, but was told upon check-in they were fully committed. so room 419 it was. the shower was amazing - the water pressure was amazing. that alone made my stay. the room was clean, well maintained, and comfortable - what more could you ask for? the spark wall added a bit of uniqueness to the hotel... as a platinum, i chose the breakfast as the amenity. it was a great breakfast buffet and a good start to the morning. the hotel is small - but it served a purpose for us of a place to base our sightseeing out of for two days. the staff was friendly. the location was great. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent location! We loved this hotel, it's officially my favorite W location. The staff was wonderful, and as a Platinum we were immediately upgraded, and told the perks of our suite. Opt for the free breakfast, so many options, and you save quite a bit. The Whatever/Whenever desk concierges were all very helpful, even at getting us last minute reservations on a Friday night! The Fantastic Suite is beautiful, and I loved the Bliss products. If you have a chance to visit the bar order a Spark, and pay attention to all the lovely details in the room. As for location, it's perfect, you are between a 5 minute to 15 minute walk to everything, whether it's Hermes or the Louvre! We can't wait to come back. October 20, 2015

Rated 3 out of 5 by Service did not meet expectations. Ive stayed in over a dozen W hotels around the world and had high expectations of this one in Paris. I booked the hotel for a 3 night stay about a month before hand. We arrived at 5pm on the day and was shockingly told our room was not ready. The staff were very apologetic and initially offered us a complimentary bar voucher which we turned down. I must have stayed in over 100 hotels around the world and this is the first time I have not been able to check in to my hotel room at 5pm. We left our bags and went out and finally checked in at around 7pm. The staff left us a note in the room with a small complimentary bottle of champagne. We appreciated the gesture and that was that. The rest of the trip was unremarkable. The concierge was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and were very friendly. I asked the day before check out whether i could buy one of the Marie Antoinette pillows they had in their rooms. I was advised yes, most definitely and can pick it up on checkout. They printed a list of the ones that were available for us to pick. We checked out around 6am the next day and were told that unfortunately they couldn't access the storage room at that time. They asked me to leave my address and they could mail it to me overseas. I chased up with the concierge a few days later via email (as had not heard anything back) and heard back a few days after that that it would cost 290 euros to ship me this pillow. I mailed back expressing my displeasure with the whole process and asked to be forwarded to the manager so i can at least raise these issues and have not heard back since. These two issues aside, the stay was pleasant, the rooms are on the small side but are very well and cosily decorated. The Opera is a busy area but we had a very quiet stay which was nice. There's a tourist bus that runs from across the road which was convenient and you're a stone's throw away from the big department stores. August 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great time in Paris We have visited Paris many times all in SPG properties and this was our second stay at the W. The stay was top notch as always with a W property. The staff was very helpful and always present to assist. The concierge team helped in every way possible prior to our arival and during our stay. The gentleman who helped us with bags at check-out was one of the most polite people we have met. We always look forwrd to returning to Paris and the W Paris is our firt choice when we return. Rated 3 out of 5 by Unsatisfactory While the hotel has a great central location in Paris which is certainly convenient, the features inside and overall service leave much to be desired. The Room We had room 401 and the bathroom fixtures were hanging loose from the ceiling. One could see that someone had attempted to "fix" it by stuffing toilet paper into the stainless steel cover of the mirror rod. The water faucet sprayed water on the floor whenever it was opened which was extremely annoying. Carpets were in sore need of replacement as they had lost their original color (if you're going to have a dark, modern theme, you need to ensure blacks are not faded to grey). The Bliss products were nice The Service Room service was good and we never had a complain. Greeting at the main entrance was almost nonexistent, with doorman either standing around barely acknowledging guests' presence or even talking on their phones. Concierge (unfortunately I forgot the name) was very helpful with one request that I would characterize as a bit unusual (finding a pharmacy that offered breast pumps). Overall Except the central location, this W location has little else to offer in terms of hospitality, quality of rooms or food. When compared to other SPG properties we have stayed in this one falls well short for a Category 6 one. May 27, 2015

Ate in the restaurant and the food was great and the wine suggestion was terrific. Would highly recommend and stay here again May 24, 2015

Poor performance, lack of personal committment across the lines! Very expensive Hotel thanks to a wonderfull location behind the Opera. Organistaion/Staff not up to Hotels who ask half the price. Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceptional Staff and Hotel! I have been to Paris many times and usually stay at the same places. This trip I decided to try somewhere new. The staff is at the W is extremely accommodating and go out of there way to make sure you are happy. The W is a small boutique type hotel which provides a very intimate experience. The staff is attentive and hospitable. The gym is a challenge if you want a serious workout but I reminded myself I was in Paris and went for a walk. It is a great location and practically on top of the Opera subway station and since I skipped the gym....I walked to the Louvre. I am so happy I tried somewhere new! Thank you for an AMAZING stay W! Rated 5 out of 5 by Best W ever.. i've been to many W Hotels and although many are very nice, this one is by far a cut above.. a very pleasant surprise.. Best reception as a Platinum guest of any Starwood property (including St. Regis), best room upgrade, best room amenities, best 'special request' accommodation, good location, immaculate room and hotel.. Better than the Westin (which isn't terrible) down the street.. Very cleverly designed and unique.. only small issues?.. internet service isn't great (which is most of Europe) and the gym is a bit lacking.. Highly recommended.. and i'm not easy to please.. :) March 29, 2015

Check in was a breeze and the staff could give me valuable advise on which was the best way to get to the airport with my luggages . They also gave me a room upgrade without question as I am a SPG gold member. I will stay at W Paris again in my next visit. March 17, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by Modern Hotel, Good Location I really loved the location of this hotel - absolutely perfect. Suite was an ok size, but very comfartable (especially the W bed) and had a huge bathroom. Although one day my room wasn't cleaned until after 4.00 pm - housekeeping was generally very good. Staff were friendly, but lacked attention to detail and that certain something that defines true service. Breakfast was very underwhelming. Rated 5 out of 5 by Quiet, Spacious and Great Location My husband and I stayed at two other five-star hotels in Paris. Our best night's sleep was at the W Opera. I enjoyed my stay and the proximity to my favorite macarons (Pierre Hermes) and more tourist-oriented spots so much: I wrote a scene in my recent novel featuring a romantic memory of staying at the W Opera and our lovely petit dejeuner. Next trip, we will happily skip our stays in16em arrondissement for the W! November 28, 2014

Every time we were exceptionally impressed with the service and the quality of the hotel staff. Our various rooms and suites were beyond expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to leisure and business travellers alike, and now consider the W Paris Opera my favourite hotel in Paris. November 11, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Customer Service The hotel, view and room were all impeccable. However, the customer service lacked extremely, not including the bell hops. The concierge especially was extremely unprofessional and lacking in customer service. We were referred to a restaurant that was very poorly run, had terrible food and lacked in management. Upon returning to the hotel we let the concierge know out of courtesy how our experience was and that he might not want to make this recommendation to any other guests. He was beyond offended and took this personally. From this point on he would no longer give us directions, recommendations, or any help at all during our trip. Being from out of town, this put a huge wrench in our planning. He was extremely rude, offensive and overrated. After enduring this treatment each day/night we then had to retreat to our room with the beautiful view of the Opera. DO NOT book your stay here during a weekend. The hotel does not let you know that there are all night parties in the street and in front of the opera during the weekends. Loud music plays continuously until 4 am in the morning making it impossible to get any sleep. In addition to these major issues, I have had to ask the hotel 3 times for a correct PDF of my receipt that I still have not yet received. After alerting the manager during our departure of what we faced during our entire trip she was unapologetic and her only solution was that she would talk to the concierge to retrieve his side of the story. Excuse me? His side of the story? 4 of your guests just told you he was continuously rude to us and that is all you have to say? Unacceptable. Especially because I have stayed at many W hotel location in the United States and have always been EXTREMELY satisfied. This was a huge let down and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
