I like the roof top bar but not a room above it as it is too noisy late at night and also hear the trolley. The room was way too small and do not like how the bathroom door is situated.Convenient location.it took too long at checkout.

Problems started from check-in. No offer of bell hop help to get bags to room. I suggested to check in clerk that I would expect desk clerks to ask me if I wanted bellman assistance. She just stared at me. I struggled with luggage myself. Room had animal odor. I asked about another room and was shown one but was told there were no pet free floors although it had been suggested to management. All staffers seemed young and poorly trained for supposedly upscale hotel. I had problem with unorganized car hop station and had to listen to argument between car hop manager and lead attendant over whether I was given the right kind of ticket. Won't stay there again.

Very good hotl. Just 2 disappointment:
1) Limited equipment at gym
2) Pity pool is not well exposed with sun. It remains in shadow almost all day (decembre though)

We stayed for 7 days and had a problem every single day. We took pictures of urine soaked mattress, unmaintained room and filthy rooms. We were moved to a supervisor inspected room and it was still dirty and had urine soaked mattress. General Manager has still not contacted us even though we were promised a call while staying there by front desk. No real compensation was given and we paid A LOT per night. Was looking forward to this vacation all year long and am still upset over this. Common areas were clean and food was great but actual rooms were horrid. Many more problems with stay. VERY UNHAPPY!

I decided to use up quite a few of my accumulated Starwood points last month while my house was being tented for termites. As this was to be my "home away from home" I contacted the W and I received spectacular service from Kehaulani Larose. I hope management can find more individuals like her. She listened to my concerns over noise and allergies and took care of every last detail and was able to upgrade me to a corner room that was very pleasant indeed. I certainly didn't expect to enjoy my visit as much as I did. When I called whatever/whenever desk, they were responsive and positive. Cleaners and staff went the extra mile and I appreciated the small amenities offered. Recommend this hotel. Do suggest you find other nearby parking options, however.

As a Starwood Platinum member I've stayed at a lot of W's throughout the world. The W San Diego was undoubtedly the worst W I have ever seen anywhere. The furniture is cheap, chipped, broken, stained and old. The carpet in the room was threadbare and had stains all over it (when was the last time the rooms were even steam cleaned?) Simple repair work was done poorly. Walls were repainted in patches so the color of the wall didn't even match.
The rooms were filthy. In addition to the carpet stains, there was hair in the sink and dirt on the walls.
While the staff was nice enough, I had to go in and ask for a valet attendant to show up every time I wanted to get my car (even when I had called ahead).

Si bien el hotel tiene una excelente ubicación y la habitación tiene camas cómodas la pieza no es muy cómoda, pocos cajones para guardar ropa, poco espacio en la habitación y tuve varios problemas
1.- la persiana estaba mala, pero lo solucionaron rápidamente
2.- la cerradura se quedo sin bateria o algo así y tuvimos que esperar para entrar en la habitación
3.- un día la cama fue hecha sin tirar las tapas hacia atrás... deje unos calcetines dentro de la cama y estaban allí en la cama en la noche siguen...ósea no estiran la cama correctamente..mal
4.- No habían tapas extras para las camas
5.- el Lobby que es es lugar para conversar y revisar el internet pero funciona como bar en la noche.. mucho ruido y no se puede conversar o trabajar en el computador.
6.- solo el primer día pusieron café en la habitación y después ya no mas...
El resto de las cosas bien... pero esperaba mas calidad para el precio del hotel
lo mejor es la cercanía al Convention Center

Very recently stayed there for my brothers wedding. Would say service (besides one bartender) was pleasant and food was above average. The problems began after I checked out. WOW!!! Try $2,000 plus charges for three consecutive days on my credit card. Everyday a different $2,000 + charge. Then try calling for assistance. "I will investigate this and get back to you" is something you really want to hear about $7,000 being charged on a $700 stay. When they got to the bottom of it they had charged me three times for the same bar bill because they claimed the Food and Beverage Manager had a verbal agreement with someone else to charge my room. The bill was signed to his room, but apparently you can just tell them to charge someone else. So they charged me three separate times for the same bar bill that was someone else's. Days later was still not resolved. I've stayed at Starwood's from California to Cairo, so I can't say this is typical of them, but it quickly became the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Makes me want to cancel my Westin stay in two weeks.
