Rated 2 out of 5 by WIBusinessTraveler Not up to par
The room was quite tired, with lots of wear and tear. The overall experience was not helped by a loud tour group of inebriated young people on my floor. The TV did not work upon arrival, and the staff was not overly helpful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ConstantTraveller Run Down!!
I have stayed in many W's and this has to be by far my worst experience. The hotel decor is very dark and dated, especially the rooms, the staff for the most part were pleasant, but lacking in enthusiasm. I felt that the property was run down, and in serious need of some cosmetic work...for example, the paint on the walls and base boards in the hall way to my room were chipped & scratched, the rugs were always in need of a good vacuum, especially around the guest room doors and corners (lazy housekeeping) there was a 1/2 broken socket cover hanging off the wall (look like it was hit by the housekeeping cart) this broken socket was that way the entire time I was there. The rooms felt very unclean, there were finger prints and dirt marks on the walls, furniture, and doors. The toilet was not flushing properly, there was a light out that could not be fixed...overall you felt as if the housekeeping staff ware just going through the motions and not really cleaning the rooms. Overall a very disappointing experience...avoid this property.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JohnBoston123 Stay someplace else and get a good night sleep
I stayed at the midtown W for a week this past February. As a frequent traveler I usually stay at another chain where I have status in the rewards program but I figured the W was slightly closer to our new office so I thought I'd give it a try. The rooms are meant to look hip and fashionable but really it's just lipstick on a pig. The windows were so fogged up with condensation that the view didn't matter, the desk had cracks and bubbles in the wood, and the bureau had three missing handles. In the bathroom shaving was nearly impossible as the bathroom sink made a loud noise every time the hot water was turned on. Of course that noise was nothing compared to the noise of the Thursday night parties downstairs, the constant slamming of doors, the frequent clacking of shoes from the bathroom above, or the alarm clock in the room next door that went off every 10 minutes starting at 5am. Overall, I'd stay at another hotel (there are two great options just a block away. This W is in need of some serious soundproofing and upgrades to the interior.

Kids roaming the halls till 3 am parties on every floor. Complained 4 times to front desk and the kids would just leave one room and go to the next. The W has lost control of this hotel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by wigstheome Showing It's Age
Reasonably decent hotel, with pluses and minuses (as is often reality). As a Platinum member, have never been upgraded over numerous stays (floor chart doesn't show a plethora of suites), although i agree that upgrades are a perk, not an entitlement. Front desk was fast and efficient, as was the automobile valet (other than one snafu that was acknowledged and addressed). The rooms are comfortable (particularly the beds) but are showing their age in terms of dents and dings, carpet stains, run in the bedcover, etc. Bathrooms are small but acceptable. The air conditioners, however, are terrific and a real positive. Gym facilities are adequate; haven't used Bliss or eaten in Spice Market?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Neal63 Mostly good, but still can't get the lobby bar right
Service throughout hotel is solid except for lobby bar. Have been to the hotel a few times, and each time kind of amazed they can't capitalize on the bar. Beautiful space, great liquor brands, comfortable but inattentive cocktail servers more interested in hanging out by the bar and talking. Bartenders are not well trained. Even though bar was not busy, getting a drink was a wait. Bar top wasn't really clean. No snacks offered with drinks, had to ask for them with the second drink. Looking at the bar tab I felt like of like, "Serve something besides goldfish pretzels and chat us up a little."

Rated 3 out of 5 by Patrick99 Nice hotel, staff not attentive or responsive
The hotel is nice, but I will admit the driveway in is a little odd, and not enough space to park and get through when there are more than 2 or 3 cars there.
I arrived and was given a room on the 11th floor. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. I did find some brown and red stains on one of my towels, but I was just one person so did not need all of them. The carpet was also dirty as if it had not been vacuumed in a month and there was a lot of dust. It simply seemed that housekeeping worked too quickly, and didn’t wash the towels as they should, nor did they make sure they were clean before putting them back into the rooms. They also never replaced my wine glasses during my stay. The first night, they left a dirty one sitting on the desk. The next night they took both glasses and never replaced them. It was as if they never cleaned simply "re-organized" and "fluffed"
I also was disappointed that my phone had no button for "Wheels" so I could not easily call to get my car brought up. I also pushed the "Whenever/Whatever" button on the phone and it rang and rang and rang, even in the middle of the day. This happened on 4-5 occasions, and never once did I speak to someone. After waiting 20 minutes for my car (after I went down) I had to ask the valet for his direct line for next time.
I was also a little upset as I came back in the evening and was barated by the "bouncer" outside the hotel. I did not have my key out and he was yelling at me that I could not enter and had to go into the bar. It took me a minute or 2 to get my key out and he let me in the front door but grunted and gave me a dirty look. That did not make me feel welcome. Please not that it is a CLUB atmosphere to get into the hotel in the evenings on weekends. I was happy that the club atmosphere did not extend to the guest floor I was on.
The room was very comfortable and quiet when I wanted it. Overall, it is a nice hotel but the staff needs to learn how to clean rooms and needs to answer the phone. Also publishing the "wheels" number in the book or putting a "wheels" button on the phone would be helpful.
I will be back in March, but mostly due to the good rate and perfect location. I do hope the staff will be more attentive to answering phones and that housekeeping will actually clean this time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jb2014 Great Service, so so product
The W staff was very prompt and friendly. There are wonderful skyline views available, and a lot of things to do and see in the hotel itself and surrounding area. I found it odd that such a nice place would have sandpaper for toilet paper, sheets that made both my partner and I break out in a rash, and the lube that is able to be purchased in the room is more like glue.

I stayed there this past weekend with my wife (who is 23 weeks pregnant) and two kids age 2.5 and 9 months. The hotel was clean and comfortable however at 3 in the morning there were several drunk people walking down the hallways yelling very loud. This woke up my wife and kids and so I called security. The people settled down for a bit but then started yelling loud again. I would say maybe have a few floors with people with kids and older people that go to bed at a decent hour. Then have a couple of floors far away for drunk idiots that want to stay out until 3 AM.

Rated 5 out of 5 by foxy50 Wonderful stay at the W Hotel Midtown!
Stayed at the W Midtown this past weekend for the 1st time. It won't be the last! Everything was perfect! The Staff was fantastic. So Attentive and nice. The decor and the public areas were so beautiful! The area is right where you want to be! Right is the center of midtown with bars, restaurants and Piedmont Park within a short walk. Lastly, our room was so awesome! I loved the decor, furnishings, view ... everything! I LOVED this hotel and will definitely book the W midtown for our next stay in Atlanta.

Overall the stay was great. The I was in 2617 had a couple little things wrong with it. 2 of the draws, I used for clothes, had no handles on them which made for opening to be very difficult, 2 of the lights over the bed had no knobs on them which made turning them on very hard and water pressure in the bathroom sink was very low.

I was very disappointed during my stay at this hotel. I have stayed at the W Midtown before and did not have any problems.
The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. We are arrived and the three attendants outside were chatting amongst themselves and completely ignored us. Same thing other times when we neede a taxi.
Desk staff was ok, but never a smile or enthusiasm.
Concierge couldn't be bothered either.
Overall, a disappointing experience.

I was in town for a weekend wedding. Room 1820 was very dark more so where you need more light at the make-up desk, had to let the steam clear in the bathroom to get ready. the carpet was stained phone had to be worked on six times and alot of dust and the hairdryer did not work on low and the room was not taken care of properly amongst other problems with the room that kept appearing just wished I had checked everything when I checked in. The staff did thier best that could speak english and got things working at different times and offered to move me but, I felt as though I would end up with just about the same situation after hearing from other people that were there for the same reason. This hotel is for the younger crowd. I prefer your other properties

Rated 3 out of 5 by Asyl What happened to that southern politeness ?
I know W hotels flaunt their "attitude", but the concierge (on Saturday morning) should be told told that when she responds to a guest's question, it would still be more courteous - and professional - if she gets off her stool instead of facing her laptop and speaking to the guest over her shoulder. Also, the check-out clerk should respond with a "Good morning" when the guest greets him, instead of a curt "Room number?" . These experiences speak poorly of the management's training and priorities.
A hotel's essential and chief feature should be HOSPITALITY.
Physically, the hotel is dark - including its breakfast restaurant "Spice Market". Not romantic dark, not glamorous dark, but GLOOMY dark - the lobby, the restaurant, even the rooms. And also, who needs thumping music in the elevators even in the morning ? But all part of the W ethos: hip, hip, finger-snapping hip. Besides HOSPITALITY, another critical feature of a hotel is COMFORT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kaki92 This hotel is ultra-modern.
I was very impressed by the room decor and the cleanliness. The hotel staff were not readily available in the lobby to help with directions and recommendations of where to dine. There also was not an onsite restaurant which made it difficult to dine after a long work day and nasty weather. However, I highly recommend the accomodations. The room is very large, decorated nicely and the bed was very, very comfortable. With a few minor improvements, I would rate this a 5 star hotel.

I have stayed at this property about 6 or 7 times this year alone, and it is always wonderful. As an SPG member, they always welcome me back and upgrade me when possible (I LIVE for the Fantastic Suites, I'm dying to see what the next level up from that is!). Rooms are always great, perfectly appointed and great to do work or just play in. The only issue I have is that whatever room I'm in, the sink is always incredibly loud, it's very strange...other than that, it's great!

My check-in was horrible, was giving a room which someone else was using and the guy at the front desk just kept giving me the same room as I took 4 times going up and down the elevator.
Valet took forever with collecting my car as I call down head of time and showed up gave my name again.

I was there for the Gift Mart. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was large, clean and I loved the decor! Spent some time in the outdoor patio - thankful for the heaters! ( and the bus shuttle to the Mart was well organized, on time and we never had to wait in line).

My family and I had to spend Christmas Eve in Atlanta and we chose the W Midtown. Donald at the FD made sure our son had an excellent Christmas by making sure his "elf on the shelf" was in the room with a note before arrival. This just made his day. You guys truly are "whatever whenever"! We were given a great room, and the next day opened presents under the W Christmas tree.
Thank you W Midtown and Donald. You guys are the best.

Nice hotel, but what you would expect staying at a W hotel.
Only issue was breakfast in the Spice Market, where on both days the service was incredibly slow (It was not crowded), and the second day was slow, and 4 out of 5 breakfasts were wrong or incomplete.
Apart from this, all good

I selected The W midtown as the hotel home for my family & groomsmen the week of my wedding. The staff beginning with Nadia were fantastic from pre-planning until we checked out. Jarrod & David from Whiskey Park were excellent as well. If you are looking for a place to stay in Atlanta, I'd highly recommend The W midtown! My new wife and I will be back for sure!
A huge THANK YOU to the staff of The W midtown.

I must say that customer service was exceptional from the moment I walked into the hotel. I was greeted by Simone at the front desk who was very personable as well as Cain, who was my Bell hop. Both of them were very kind, attentive and professional. Every person that I came in contact with on Staff was so hospitable.
The hotel room was modern, romantic/ sultry, and comfortable. We had dinner at the Spice Market food and drinks were absolutely delicious.
I only have one complaint and that would be old and cold french fries from our late night meal order. I personally hate cold fries, but other than that everything was exceptional and I do hope to return back soon.

Great location however the staff was very unprofessional. First when I arrived no one helped me with my bags. Secondly some one called my room at 9am telling me I was do to check out on a day that I wasn't and demanded that I come down and sort it out instead of taking care of it on the phone. Once I did, the male agent could not stop chewing his gum slow enough to to apolices for the miskate.

Rated 3 out of 5 by tvlngman nice employees; some things overlooked
First the great things about this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and the midtown location is great. This is the first time I stayed at a W hotel and had a couple room issues I would not have expected from this type hotel. The television did not work. I discovered it late in the evening so didn't want to go through getting it fixed. So I planned to read in bed and the knob to turn the light on was missing. Maybe this is a fluke but I have stayed at what I thought was lesser quality hotels and had better luck. I reported the room issues when I checked out and I am sure they would have fixed it if I had called when I discovered them.

The staff at the Midtown W were top notch. I was recognized for being a Platnium member with a room upgrade. Once I arrived in my room I noticed one of the shades would not fully open. I called down and within minutes a gentleman from maintenance came up to repair it. He was courteous and efficient and even recommended a festival I should visit.
I would definitely come again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 1986SPGer Worst SPG Hotel I have ever stayed at
Worst service and staff I have ever experienced. I have to stay here for work every week and I absolutely hate it - you would think after months and months of staying here they would treat you better but they still act like they are better than the guests that stay at the hotel. The location isn't bad but other than that you are better off staying just about anywhere.

They remembered me by name every time I came down. The valets were exceptional! I will be back real soon. Keep up the good job!
