Rated 5 out of 5 by Celebration get away! We decided to head to NYC to celebrate a birthday and wedding anniversary, and we stayed at the W - Time Square. The location is awesome, right in the middle of all the action! We walked to dinner and the theater every night, and 5th Avenue shopping is just a short walk away! The party in the 7th floor lounge raged until the wee hours, not the quietest hotel in the world, but if you are looking for a nice hotel in a great location, this one's for you! September 18, 2013

Special thanks to Kristin who missed no detail and Michael for making my son's birthday the best. Kristin, you went above and beyond and I can't thank you enough! Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Anniversary Getaway My husband and I stayed at the W Times Square for our third wedding anniversary over the July long weekend. The staff were OUTSTANDING! As someone who works in the industry as well I was incredibly happy with everything this hotel had to offer. From check in to check out, the entire stay was seamless. So much so, I'll be back and visiting again this coming weekend! Thank you W Times Square! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!! August 16, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed Very disappointed in my stay. Several times during the night I would hear drilling sounds in the walls. When I mentioned this to the front desk the worker simply shrugged their shoulders and said something about construction on the upper floors. At 3 AM?! In addition, the overall room cleanleness was low. As a SPG and timeshare owner, I would rate this as the worst hotel I've stayed at. Especially when you consider the price. November 19, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointment in W Hotel Times Sq Hotel did not provide a heads up at all about the noise from the construction in Times Sq. Jack hammering and the pounding of heavy equipment went on all night. Staff did not respond when asked about room in another location to avoid the noise. I am very disappointed as the location is terrific, my disatisfaction could have been avoided with a little communication. June 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by overall a good experience We loved the location of the hotel - walking distance to everything - and we enjoyed our stay. However, I did not like the set-up of the bathroom. The walls were practically see-through so there was virtually no privacy. I would not stay in a room like that ever again. Also, the breakfast we ordered was good but no where near worth $100! We each had 2 eggs, coffee and toast. Breakfast was completely overpriced. November 18, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not our favorite "W" The staff was very friendly. Concierge was happy to make recommendations and reservations but knowledge of restaurants was lacking. The restaurants he recommended were mediocre. The quality and appointment of rooms were less than what we've encountered in other W hotels. Accessing the gym took two separate elevator rides -but it was very clean but equip well maintained . Times Square NOT my fav place to stay in NY! September 6, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Could have been better The hotel was in a great location, but the room was not very clean. It was neat but stuff on the carpet that could have been picked up. The bathroom and carpet had not been cleaned well and the next day, we saw the same things after the room was cleaned and the linen was not changed. No refrig/microwave. Old furniture & the cash bar in the room was a joke.For the price/points, it should have been much nicer. September 6, 2013

New Yorkers are friendly because they are proud of their city, and W staff are obviously proud of their workplace, which is reflected in their friendliness and service standard. thanks to housekeeping, front desk, concierge, restaurant and management for your help and fine care. Rated 5 out of 5 by W-NY Times Square I love the W. Excellent staff. The decor, vibe, and feel of the place from the moment we walked in was amazing. Had nice dinner at the Blue Fin Restaurant on first floor. Our room was spacious and clean and the view from the 53rd floor was heavenly at night and in the morning. Will definitely return and recommend the W to others. February 11, 2014

Very central for both business and pleasure...right in the heart of Times Square...and only a few blocks from my office. Staff is always very friendly and helpful...great night spot too for a drink or more. Blue Finn is a great restrurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner...have enjoyed them all. Rooms clean, neat and always ready. Wouldn't stay anywhere else! Go! May 1, 2012

The staff is friendly, the Living Room Bar is hip and always bumping, and the rooms are really cool looking with awesome city views. Probably not my definition of a family hotel as the bathrooms all have frosted glass which basically lets you see into and out of the bathroom, but definitely a hip and fun place for couples. Rated 3 out of 5 by Fine as long as you don't want/need sleep Dimly lit ambiance which may work for some but not for me. Although the hotel is nice I found the service to be lacking. The check-in/check-out person was nice but I had to cal several times for items like blankets & a heater & when they brought the heater it was actually a fan! It got down to 50 degrees during my stay & after being caught in the rain I was surprised there was no heat. So despite the extra blankets it was still very cold & I ended up sick. The room was a little on the small side & the doors slam shut so its quite a symphony of noise when people are coming & going which made sleep almost impossible. Housekeeping starts early & the lady yells out before entering so even if she is down the hall you will hear her. Overall, this place is fine for those who don't want or need sleep. June 4, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Location, location, location Although I frequently visit NYC on business I can never resist to be a tourist in that city and stay at "Touristy" hotels. W is located right at the heat of Times Square which is perfect for a part-time tourist like myself. It is modern yet very elegant. Perfect combination of both worlds and I truly enjoyed my stay. It can be a bit pricy but what isn't pricy in NYC, right?! September 11, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Great location but not a plush hotel The Times Square location is great, but I was disappointed in the lack of amenities. The robes are thin and cheap looking, the hair dryer looked like something from the seventies, the lighting is dim throughout the hotel, and the music overhead was annoying. The chair in the room was not comfortable to sit in. For the prices they charge, I expected a lot more . February 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by W. a great place to stay in times square We booked the w through Amex platinum and got a great rate, breakfast, late checkout and $100 credit towards food at blue fin where the food was outstanding and an upgrade to corner room. Service at the hotel was five star. We have stayed at fine hotels and this was at the top, we highly recommend it. January 20, 2014

The entire staff (Jenna in particular) went above and beyond to make sure we had a terrific time. Having stayed at just about every Starwood property in NYC the W Times Square is now on the top of my list. January 31, 2012

This was my first time at a W and was impressed right from the friendly and efficient checkin to the (unfortunately too soon) checkout. The room was comfortable and had thoughtful touches but would benefit from blackout blinds as some may have a disrupted sleep from Times Square lights. November 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff was awesome Took an earlier flight at last minute for our anniversary wknd, and sent email request for early check in. We arrived at 930 am and room was ready and waiting. Back to room after dinner and bottle of champagne was waiting for us. The staff exceeded our expectations and would definitely recommend. November 20, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible experience at W Stayed at W Hotel New York for 3 nights from 21 May to 24 May. Service was bad. Front desk was not helpful, bellboy who helped load our car with luggage was really impatient and did not care. Expected a nicer and more luxurious hotel since it was W hotel but the room and experience made it feel like a boutique hotel. Drilling noises and renovation noises from outside could be heard well into the night. Only good thing was the location of the hotel. June 5, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Hotel if you want Times Sq & get a good price for NY I am a platinum member so I tend to get upgraded quite a bit. This hotel like many Starwood properties runs from very nice rooms to OK with a view of a building next door. I've been fortunate to get the Times Sq view in an upgraded room many times. There are some good restaurants and lively night/day life here. The service is ok not great and the front desk tends to be packed so it takes a long time to check in out or to get another key when they don't work. They have a good gym /its split into two separate rooms that are not well signed but you can get a good workout in. November 11, 2011

It was my daughter's 16th birthday and there were cupcakes and fun W-themed gifts waiting in our room upon arrival. My daughter was thrilled. The hotel and the location are great! November 5, 2012

Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst ever stay The rooms were in a dreadful state - looking tired, dirty, hair on the floor, dust everywhere. Elevator noise is present in 90% of the rooms. Always having to queue to see someone at reception. A "not-my-job-attitude" by hotel staff. Shocking. November 29, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Hotel in the Heart of Times Square I must say that I was very impressed by the hotel experience. The place is beautiful right in the heart of times square. Blue fin bar has a view of times square that is amazing. I booked the hotel through fine hotels and resorts with my American Express Platinum card. Upon arrival I received the welcome packet for FHR which included a door hanger that had options for the continental breakfast for 2. I asked the front desk associate what the proper way to fill the form out for the breakfast within the "free breakfast" guidelines. She tried to explain how to fill it out but was not very detailed so I just went to the concierge desk and asked the gentleman there. He was unsure of how to fill the form out as well so he made a couple phone calls. He was not certain himself so I told him not to worry that I would call in room dinning to find out. I called front desk later on after check in to see if I could get someone to help and the gentleman there transferred me to in room dinning. The lady that took my call was able to explain to me exactly what I was entitled to without accruing any extra charges. The breakfast was delivered the next day and was very nice. My Girlfriend and I left the food untouched in the room and went out to sight see in the city. When we got back a couple days later the untouched food was taken from the room. It was continental breakfast so there was coffee, juice as well as muffins and croissants. I intended to snack on those items before check out but they were removed from the room. When I went to front desk to check out I mentioned it to the front desk associate who stated the reason the food was removed from the room is because "We have animals in New York". That was her answer which I think is sort of strange. She did not offer to give me anything to replace those items. I just think the FHR benefits may not be as understood by the staff as it should be. I spoke with 4 different people before I could get an understanding of the amenity. The front desk was very helpful with everything else. The room and view was great. The food was good and the location was great as well. I will certainly return if I visit NYC again. June 17, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Worst Hotel Experience... Ever. My wife and I rarely get away together and were excited about going to NYC. We've stayed in other W Hotels so we thought it would be a good choice. It was not. When we arrived and checked in we noticed immediately that the bathroom had not been cleaned and there were actually p*bic hairs from another guest all over the shower and bathroom floor. There was mold in the shower, the carpets were stained. The windows were very dirty. We asked that it be cleaned and left for several hours so it could be done. When we returned... the room had still been untouched. We left again and when we came back the room was "cleaner, so we started to unpack. When I opened the closet door to hang our clothes I was surprised to see drycleaning bags with several nice suits hanging in our closet... they had delivered another guests clothes to our room. On another day we left the room at around 8am and didn't return until almost 6pm... we walked into the room to find that they had not cleaned for the day... no towels...a mess. Overall, it was a very poor experience and we won't be back. September 23, 2013
