I only stayed there for a night but it was an amazing stay the pool area never closes (the bar does) the hot tub was nice and the pool was great.
The room when we arrived it was very clean and smelling wounded full. The staff exceeded my expectations everything I asked for I got with in minutes. The price for the food in the room was good.

The parking, restaurant, lounge and pool service and staff was great.
Lobby staff ok, but the cleanliness of the room was awful.
When we checked in we found the room a bit dirty, as if the room was made up in a hurry (bathroom dirty, robes dirty, not enough towels for two,etc.) . We are not big complainers but we mentioned it and we were told the cleaning staff finish at 6. We had checked in some time after that.
At this point we hoped the linen and towels where changed and moved on. Not wanting to spoil our romantic 3 nights stay. Then we spent the next 3 days trying to get someone to clean our room and change the towels.
Nothing is less romantic then coming back from the beach or the pool around 2 and finding out the room was not made. Then having to call the front desk and wait an hour and half for the maid to come and clean the room instead of taking a shower and relaxing. On the second day when it happened again we tracked down a maid on our floor only to be told she cannot help us and we should complain to the front desk. On the third day we finally preempted the eventuality and visited the front desk to book an appointment for our room to be cleaned.I go on vacation to get away from running a business!
It reminded me of a 2 star hotel I had stayed in Italy when I was a student.

Excellent Service and the cool W vibe is on display here at this very nice property across the street from the beach. Had a standard room, which was fine. My son loved the purple pool table in the lobby and the various chess sets about. Good drinks at the lobby bar. Very cool swimming pool. Excellent Valet Parking. Highly Recommended.

Unlike other W Hotels that I have visited, this hotel never exceeded expectations. Upon arrival late Friday afternoon I went to the pool and it was a complete MESS. My patio chairs in the room didnt have cushions and I had to call 3 times for additional towels. The staff just never went above and beyond. I expected much more.

I have been to almost every W Hotel in the country, and this hotel ranks at the top. This is a great property, and the staff is on top of their game. As a platinum member, I am usually upgraded to an amazing room. The pool and dining facilities are terrific. If you are traveling to South Florida, this hotel is a no brainer.

After a very long stressful weekend. I went for a very need facial in the Bliss spa in the hotel lobby.
The best best best facial ever. Harvey was super and the whole experience was the best ever!
He also gives massages, I wish I didn't have to go back to new York!

This hotel is a great place with an even better view. Lots of things to do around this hotel, it is in the "high class" area!! The only thing i would say is that they dont tell you all the parking is valet and you will have another $30.00 per day parking charged to your room..Other than that i will stay here again.

The W Fort Lauderdale is an exceptional value and close to everything. It is luxury at it's best. Great staff, great rooms, great gym! I love this hotel and every visit has been perfect! Thanks to all the wonderful staff who make each visit a treat. You really do feel like royalty at the W Fort Lauderdale!

This hotel charges for being one of the best. When doing so you expect the service to match. The rooms are showing the wear and tear and need to be refurbished. Noise level in hallways with people blocking door open and letting it slam through out the day and night is rather annoying. Being a second level SPG member, I didn't think I had to make an issue over WiFi. Come on people - $600.00+ and you are worried about charging extra for WiFi? They want to be an expensive, high class hotel - but have mentality of nickel and dime you to death with extra charges.

I'm in my 50's found hotel to be all over the place. I had a hard time getting around. This hotel is for the young 20 through 40's. Staff was wonderful, food also. When we checked out, we found some body's dirty panties.eeewwww. Hotel gave us $50. off room. I will never go back

Stuff was perfect. Lots of help.
Pool was very cold and I had to give back the pool towels till 6pm or had to pay 25 US$ ?!?!?!
Never had something like this, especially in a 4-5 star hotel!

I think I may just not be trendy enough for the hotel. The bathrooms are in the bedrooms as everyone has been saying, see-through shower. You can call down and get a shabby curtain to suction to the glass wall for a little more privacy. The bed was comfortable as it always is, but there was very poor lighting and the bathroom weirded me out a lot between the shower situation and the really loud sliding door for the toilet area.
Those things said, the balcony was incredible, the location is stellar right across from the beach and in walking distance to several restaurants and a CVS, and Steak 954 is as awesome as everyone says. I think this may just be too "chic" a hotel for me.
If you stay here, I recommend asking for a low floor as there were a few elevators that were malfunctioning throughout our stay.

I love this resort, from the decor which makes you feel comfortable and relaxed the minute you step through the doors. I have been to this property several times and feel of the properties i have had the privilege of experience, this takes the top spot on my list.

I stayed one night in February and returned in March for 4 days . I went back to Ft Lauderdale specifically to stay at The W.
From a sincere welcome at the valet i went up to check in and was greeted promptly with a friendly smile. I had booked a Partial Ocean but was upgraded to a Full Ocean with Terrace. A very unexpected treat that i will never forget.
we enjoyed 4 days of relaxation, prompt valet service, information from the concierge and friendly smiles every day.
Check out is at 11 and my flight home was at 8pm. I inquired about a possible late check out and the front Desk blew my expectations when they offered a 1pm late check out, they held our bags while we went for lunch and a last minute stroll down the beach. When we returned at 3:30pm they gave us a courtesy suite to freshen up and relax in for an hour. we went for Dinner and then to the airport.. we totally avoided the "long wait" at the airport.
I love the W Ft Lauderdale and will always recommend it to my friends, family and customers/passengers at work.

Highly over rated. I booked two rooms here, called after booking to confirm we were all set. Arrived at property at 4:02 pm to find not only that one of my rooms had been canceled (even after verifying by phone) AND that my room was not ready. Guaranteed 4pm check in?? After 4 people standing behind desk repeatedly told me they would call me when my room was ready (really?) a manager of the now 7 people behind the desk got me into my room. Room had a beautiful view, but the bed left something to be desired. Im still unsure of what was on shower floor-perhaps stained grout or caulk?After a nearly sleepless night, I checked out around 5 am due to the unbearable bed. Shared that with the woman at the front desk and she didn't seem too concerned. I will never stay at this hotel again. I travel a great deal for work and seek Westin because of their heavenly bed. This bed was anything but heavenly. Extremely disappointed, especially when you take into consideration the rate. Plenty of nicer choices in that area

I enjoyed staying here, although it was on the pricey side but comfort wise was great! Still don't understand the see-through bathroom though, weird touch but classy room all the same. Would love to stay again if I can afford it.

We were given the wrong room and that never was resolved. Our bathroom floor was sticky. The elevators take forever.... I could go on and on. I've stayed at other W hotels and they felt world-class. This one did not. I would not stay here on my next visit.
As a positive, most of the roaming workers were very nice and tried to be helpful, including pushing elevator buttons for you. Another positive is the spa - had the best massage that I have had in awhile.

Beautiful hotel with very friendly and responsive staff but not worth the price. Missing very basic amenities that lower priced hotels routinely provide like in room coffee maker, access to ice machines, complimentary wifi. Purchased the parking pkg which saved money but daily parking price is very expensive. Was surprised at lack of privacy on balcony. Had a beautiful 19th floor wrap around balcony but walked out to look at the next door guests every morning. The dividing partition is a bit more than waist high which also poses a security risk as anyone can climb over it and access your room. Expected more for the price of the more expensive Fantastic Suite. Food was good but room service was expensive with lots of add on charges. SPG upgrade was promised and then taken away with explanation that clerk made a mistake and trying to convince me that we already had the best room which was not true - provided points to SPG account and bottle of champagne to compensate for the inconvenience. SPG amenity choice offered at check- in without asking. Overall a beautiful hotel with great service, missing basic guest conveniences to drive traffic to hotel service and price add-ons. Nice for a short stay but becomes very expensive if staying 5 nights as we did.

My wife and I just stayed at the W FTL for 11 nights, including the busy Labor Day weekend. W FTL is our preferred vacation destination, which we have visited approximately 20 times in the past 3+ years. The staff was attentive as ever and seemed to be challenged to perform to a completely new level. A new W FTL Insider, Ryan, made this visit especially memorable for us. Ryan recognized our Platinum status and loyalty with exemplary customer service, at a level we have not previously experienced at an SPG property (worldwide). We cannot thank Ryan enough for assisting us with an important service issue. Besides Ryan, we would like to recognize the W FTL Living Room Breakfast team (Superstars) Jorge and Jose. Through their friendliness, efficiency and politeness, we had a great start to every day at the W FTL. Our thanks and recognition also go out to the highly dependable W Concierge Jay as well as to Steve in Steak 954 for excellent service during our dinner party. We normally do not take time to share our thoughts in this forum but wanted to recognize outstanding service during this visit to the W FTL.

I love W hotels and was very excited to stay at this location in Fort Lauderdale.
The pros were the chic hotel ambiance, staff, valet, the incredible view and amenities. The hotel staff was excellent, attentive and provided very quick service when needed.
The cons were the hotel room. We stayed in a Spectacular room and it was far from it. Starting off with the room layout and the open bath/shower with no privacy...I'm talking NO PRIVACY. It's really awkward when you are staying with your older parents in a room like this. =)
Next the sliding doors to the balcony are extremely noisy opening and closing. Speaking of noise, the walls are paper thin so you can hear other hotel guests opening/closing their balcony doors as well as their conversations. The closet doors are huge, awkward and noisy too-they reminded me of dorm room closet doors. If it's not the balcony doors you are hearing being opened and closed, it's the closet doors.
The flat screen TV was way too small for the room. I would guess it to be a 27-30 inch screen. I think that when you are a in a luxury hotel room, you should have a luxury hotel sized TV.
I would recommend that IF you are going to stay at this W Hotel location, you should upgrade your room or you are going to be very unhappy.

The hotel is beautiful, however the rooms need attention. Furniture in our room was pretty well banged up. Only furniture on the balcony was a chaise lounge, no little table to set things down on. Bathroom was extremely dark, light in shower only worked sporadically. Air conditioner was impossible to figure out, and when on was loud. The staff was wonderful, very helpful and extremely nice. The hotel in itself is really nice, great lobby and restaurants. Wonderful location.
