The W offered even more than we expected. The room was beautiful, quiet, and very comfortable. We were delighted with room service, it was prompt and the food delicious. The W staff was very professional, courteous and accommodating. It was a pleasure staying at the W.

We went to the hotel for a special occaision, and the staff kept surprising us with thoughtful ways to make our stay more comfortable and special. I've never been treated so well, and I've stayed at many five-star hotels all over the world. I was astounded. Way to go.

Room design is small and cramped. Focus was clearly on trying to make a tiny room seem hip but the net result was a sense of claustrophobia. Having a sink in the main room as opposed to separated in an actual bathroom gives a hostel like sensation.Great staff however.

I was so sad to check out after only one night at the W DC. The room was much larger than I expected (as compared to W hotels in NYC and the one in Boston). I was high us and there was still a lot of street noise, but given the location it's to be expected.

Hotel staff was very organized and efficient. Check in was quick and included a glass of champagne for my self and my wife. The event coordination was also very efficient . We had a great time at the POV lounge. The picture booth was a great.addition to the package.

Very nice stay - I like the clean minimalist decor and yes even the translucent shower.
I will return.
$50 valet parking is probably the highest in all of Washington. Why? Not clear. But easy to find a garage for half the price nearby on G street so not a biggie.

Room not ready at checkin. I was not informed there would be a loud party right above my room before checkin. They offered to move me at 10pm after I unpacked as was already trying to sleep. Concierge booked me for brunch at a restaurant that does not serve brunch!

My wife and I stayed at the Washington, DC location to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and had a great time. The room was nice, the service was exceptional and the only thing lacking was a sports bar.

What a stunning hotel with a staff to match!!! Overly attentive and catered to our every need! The room was plush and cozy and we had everything at our fingertips! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! The location can't be beat!!! Doesn't get any better!!

I am a Platinum SPG member and stay at numerous W hotels throughout the year. Usually I receive great service and have no issues however, my stay at the DC location was below average. Upon arrival my room was not ready and I had to wait over an hour. No complimentary drinks or anything were offered - just for us to sit in the lobby and wait. Since we were in a suite and the suite was not ready, they offered a normal room - fine but not since we reserved a suite and had more than one guest in the room. We were celebrating a bachlorette party and wanted to take the Acura service. I called in a couple days before and they said I had to wait till I arrived to make a reservation. Upon arrival to the Acura desk I was told I should have called beforehand. We also called about parking and were told it would cost $20...the charge to the folio was $50. The staff gave mixed messages all throughout the stay, they were unresponsive the the "whatever/whenever" slogan they pride themselves on and overall it made for a VERY upsetting stay.

We used 35,500 points to stay here for two nights. We were promised a room with two queens. When that could not be accommodated upon check-in, they told us we would be moved the next day. It did not happen. Instead, we received a room with two full beds, a frosted window that did not let you know if it was sunny or raining, a handicap room which meant going into the bathroom was dangerous if someone had taken a shower because all of the floor was wet and slippery. Plus there was an empty bottle of champagne and dirty glasses sitting in the room when we arrived.I knew the rooms would be small, so expected that...but the whole experience was not good.
The staff was very nice, but did not improve our accommodation at all (we are gold elite and have ownership in two starwood properties). Polite and apologetic. We got three free drinks and breakfast for our troubles. I think they have lots of practice in being nice to unhappy quests.The location is great, the rooftop bar's view is unbeatable (White House and Washington Monument). I

Extreme difficulty with changing our reservation prior to arrival, no door man/ luggage assistance, half drank water bottle in our room upon arrival, long wait for service & delivery of drinks in lobby bar (even though is was not busy) Poor personal service.

Restuarant a little expensive but food good.
disappointed that no draught beer was in any bar.

Way overpriced; the internet service is INCREDIBLY slow, but it costs almost US$15 per day to use it. A total scam that is nearly pure profit for the hotel. They could at least ensure the internet actually works! Not recommended for business travelers.

Had a terrible stay. Actually left in the middle of the night it was so noisy. Room walls are paper thin. The staff was not helpful with the problem. If you are going to DC to party late into the night, this is your hotel. Otherwise, I'd stay away

The hotel is well-decorated and the staff are very energetic and eager to please. I especially liked the extra touch of hot cider in the lobby. However, the ambiance of the hotel is definitely designed for people who prefer a much higher energy experience rather than a relaxing escape. I returned for the evening around 11:30 to find a nightclub atmosphere in the lobby with techno music spilling out into the sidewalk (and wafting up through to my guestroom window) and a velvet rope in front of the elevator complete with bouncers who checked my keycard for access. The elevators were jam packed with drunken young college types. The hotel also overdoes the guestroom point of sale - it's literally decorated with bottles of water and wine for sale. Also irritating there's free WiFi in the lobby but not in the guestrooms - so bar patrons enjoy amenities that guests do not unless they come sit in the (frankly quite noisy) lobby? In J&G for breakfast the staff were wonderfully pleasant and engaging, but I had to ask each time for orange juice refills (they refilled coffee automatically but ignored the empty orange juice glass). Throughout my stay the service delivery was practiced (with genuine warmth) but not polished. A great location but if you're looking for relaxing luxury this isn't the place.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel right in the heart of all the sights. Amazingly friendly staff -- from the door man to the room service staff, the service was top notch. So pleased with everything, would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting DC.

Top notch service. Staff was very accomodating to our large family and the special needs of one of our children. Location (near the white house) was great. The hotel restaurant was excellent and there were other good restaurants nearby as well.

Crowds on weekends made me feel like I was living in a club instead of a hotel. Elevator management was poor and noise was ridiculous. Did not feel at home in any way.
If I had not been there for work...I would have changed my arrangements.

You know you are in a special place the moment the staff welcomes you at the front door. This extends to every facet of the hotel. Everyone takes the time to make sure you feel welcome and that you are happy and your needs/wants/whims are met.

The hotel is just beautiful! It's a classic/historic building and has been decorated with modern touches. The staff do everything a guest could ask for and went beyond what anyone could have expected for me. I will definitely stay here again.

Stayed during DST Convention. Service was excellent from Front desk staff, concierge, and restaurants. Very accommodating and quick. Only issue is the set up of the room. Bathroom doors are sliding barn style and didn't afford much privacy.

Although our room was a little small and lacked
a view of the city otherwise it was excellent. The hotel staff was super attentive of our needs and
the double queen room had all of the bells and whistles you would expect from a W Hotel.

Room was small but comfortabl and trendy. Location was great and the roof top bar was fun. Paying $50 more for parking on top of an expensive room rate was annoying. I would recommend the hotel for business travelers but not families.

From the location to the service, everything was perfect! With the hotel located right across the street from the White House, I couldn't be in a better place. Especially as it was my first time in DC. As I arrived, a gentlemen assisted with our luggage and brought us to the Welcome Desk where we checked in. We were greeted by Dag at the Welcome Desk who exemplified a perfect check-in. He was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable of his city. He gave us the inside scoop on what DC had to offer and found a way to accommodate all of our needs. He even found a way to get us a reservation last minute for the tea party at the Willard when they were sold out, which meant a lot to my mother. A jack of all trades, Dag is a valuable asset to the true W experience. In Room Dining was excellent. Food was great and service was quick. Before my arrival, Whitney in whatever/whenever also was extremely accommodating and made sure to link my reservations and answer all of my inquiries. She was very pleasant and patient. I had a great time and would definitely stay again!

It starts with the welcome champagne on check in and your stay just stays on that high right to when the hotel Acura drops you at the train station. A truly faultless stay from service to location there is no better hotel in town.

W Washington D.C. is a great hotel that blends historic and modern luxury. The Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and you cant beat the location. View from rooftop is breathtaking, fabulous Bliss Spa and the best food in J&G!

Great location. Staff allowed early check-in at 8AM. Excellent amenities and room furnishings. The lobby bar is too crowded and the live music is too loud. The proximity to the White House makes this my favorite DC hotel.

From kind staff to amazing decor this is one the top of the list for hotels to stay at in DC. The location is phenomenal. To visit the lobby is like visiting a monument. I must have taken 20 photos of the unique decor!
