Rated 1 out of 5 by This Hotel has horrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay in Miami. The staff is trying so hard to be cool they forget why they are there Hi goes a long way. I am sorry we messed up is not so hard to say either; When I stay a W I don't demand to treated like a VIP but, how about a valued customer who wants to interact with a staff that likes people. I used The Whatever Whenever service for a special request which was immediately granted. I couldn't have been happier with this anniversary trip that I spent with my handsome husband of 26 years! Rated 3 out of 5 by What Could have Been When I booked I was aware of the renovations. This is what they showed on the website: From August 8 to October 31, 2016, there are ongoing renovations to the guest rooms as well as additional areas throughout the hotel. During this time, the hotel will offer all services (pool, beach, spa, dining, workout facilities) and all efforts will be made to keep noise and disruption to a minimum. Please contact the hotel for additional information. Now I also contacted the hotel and was told not to worry. I guess offering ALL services doesnt include the main pool. I did speak with a manager to voice my displeasure. I was told I would be "taken care of" and to his credit I was. Now the west pool was very nice and on Thursday no problem. More crowded on Saturday but glad we got a spot early. I will say this.....the room was spectacular. The staff at the Spa and the pool were wonderful Overall I would give it another try. Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect hotel with little room for improvements I stayed 5 nights with my girlfriend in the W Fort Lauderdale. We had a "cool corner room" on the 21st floor. The room was very large, freshly renovated and with a large balcony. The room was much better than expected, so we were very happy with our room. From the large balcony, we had a perfect view about the ocean and also about the city. We had 8 chairs and 4 tables on our balcony, but unfortunately no sunbeds. After calling the 24/7 hotline "whatever/whenever", we were told that it is not possible to bring us some sunbeds. Normally, I would accept this, but the balconies on the lower floors - which we saw - had sunbeds on their balconies. Furthermore, the WiFi was very slow. Due to the fact, that I'm a SPG member, we didn't have to pay for the WiFi, but as a normal guest you have to pay for - and paying for such a slow WiFi would be inacceptable. Unfortunately, the main pool of the hotel was closed due to refurbishments. We were only informed about the refurbishments in general, but nobody told us which areas of the hotel are effected by the refurbishments. To put it in a nutshell, after the end of the refurbishments, I would recommend this Hotel for a stay in Fort Lauderdale. Especially the cool corner room is the price worth because you have a perfect designed room with a great view and a large balcony, so that you don't need to go to the pool or to the beach for sunbathing. Rated 5 out of 5 by The room are amazing !!!!!! Great service overall from the front desk, concierge to the servers at the restaurant. I would like to say especial thanks to our front desk agent at checking (I think her name was Jessica) but she accommodated us in a beautiful suit after realizing that we were there to celebrate our 10th anniversary it truly make a huge diference in our celebration, she was extremely professional and kind, thanks a lot for that gesture. Rated 1 out of 5 by Not The W I'm Used To.... I have stayed at W's many times both with my own reservations or with friends. This was by far my worst stay. I arrived for check-in and explained how tired I was. The girl said she was giving me a newly renovated room. Sounded great till I got upstairs and had to listen to construction tools for 2 hours while they were remodeling. Then because of the remodel they had the music moved to the west pool so had to listen to that. Not sure if the beds are the same or not but definitely not as comfortable as I remember them being at this location. Room service was great. Front desk was great. But the noise was out of control and you probably shouldn't put people in those rooms while the noise is going I don't care what rate they are paying. August 28, 2016
