Rated 1 out of 5 by W stands for Worst Where do I start? 3 nights in hotel. 1st night couldn't sleep due to noise from drunk guests leaving bar and night club on street. 2nd night the wi-fi didn't wok. reception said they would put me through to Guest tech and actually put me through to reservations who were rather rude. Eventually got through to Guest tech who spent 30 mins trying to make out the problem was my laptop before they ran a refresh on the wi-fi which was all they needed to do. 30 mins! and W have charged me for the call on my bill! Why couldn't reception speak to guest tech? That night there was intolerable noise from drunk guests in next door room from 00.30 to 3.45 am. Had to call reception 4 times. Walls and windows are just too thin. Then woken by noise of trucks banging over poor road surface outside at 5.30am. Asked to move room to other side of hotel for 3rd night and guy at desk said he would call me when this was done. He never called. My wife couldn't get in to room even with ID because she didn't know name of person who had made our reservation. When she did get in they had given us another room on same side. So back to reception to change again. Next room given was already occupied. Then they couldn't find our bags. And finally there was no cold water in the sink - only hot comes out of the tap, and the plug in sink didn't work (as always). I also had to correct the email on my SPG account on both bills. Rated 2 out of 5 by Unacceptable Registered in a kind of ecological program when I checked in ( never asked for it even if I support the initiative which appears here as a pure costs cutting operation) no one cleaned the room during 4 days, means no towels change ,no more amenities and no new linens. Despite the fact that I went 3 times to ask for a normal service in such hotel category, I had today to call the manager in person and push for the basic duty in the room. How is it possible in such category of hotel , how to accept such lack of responsiveness ? This is not acceptable . A loyal SPG customer. September 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Hotel! My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel for a weekend. The location is great, you can walk anywhere from the hotel and if needed it's also close to the various subway lines. The Copley Place mall is also within walking distance. There are also some restaurants and places where you can grab something quick to eat if needed nearby. There wasn't any recognition for being an SPG member, which was okay, but kind of odd when usually that's been recognized in the past. Other than that the hotel is beautiful and very nicely decorated. The lounge was always full of people so it's a happening hotel. The drinks were very pricey but I guess that's to be expected if it's considered a hot spot. The amenities in the room were great. There was a phone charger that actually worked!! Noise machine! A mini stereo to play music from an ipod, phone or other mini device. The TV was large! Overall very nice! We had lucked out and booked when there was a promotion otherwise it's a little more on the expensive side. August 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic hotel for Boston This place couldn't get any better. The staff were polite and attentive. There is always someone just waiting to take care of your every need. The bed/pillow were so comfortable, we slept great. I'm usually picky when it comes to showers and this place even had an amazing shower/showerhead:) It's located right in the middle of Boston with easy access to restaurants and stores all in walking distance or a short Uber ride. You can't go wrong staying here. July 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing stay at the W Boston From Sarah helping with the rooms, Nick at the front desk, to all the doormen, and the cleaning staff especially Rita the service was absolutely flawless. We had 4 rooms for a long weekend and everything worked out perfectly due to the diligent and accommodating staff at the W Boston. We really appreciate all your help to make a once in a lifetime trip come together. I cannot thank the staff at the W Boston enough. People have to understand that sometimes things do not work out perfectly, but for us it did. Thank you W Boston!! June 8, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't Expect Late Check Outs as a Plat! I recently stayed at this property but was nonplussed to find out that late check outs are NOT GUARANTEED for Platinum 50 night members. Rather, late check outs are provided "if available". They have "if available" printed on their key sleeve. This is contrast to SPG's stated benefits on their website which states explicitly that 4 pm late check out is "guaranteed" for Platinum members (excepting conference hotels or resorts which the W Boston is not). Because of this inconsistency, it appears that the hotel is either not compliant with the franchise terms or has some special exception that other properties do not have. It is the first SPG property I have ever been to where a late check out is not guaranteed. I had booked a suite night award and was put into a Wow suite. I was told that due to "limited" inventory of this category they do not grant late check outs. This was bizarre because the room was not even rented for the next day. The staff was not friendly and only after wasting a huge amount of time trying to resolve this (by calling the manager) was I able to extend my check out until "2 pm" at which point they wanted to move me to another room for the remaining two hours of my stay (until 4pm). Would you like to be forced to move to another room in order to preserve your guaranteed 4 pm check out? Shocking and horrendous service!. May 27, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by rooms and service need improvement Greeted well by staff. Requested at the desk for additional bed to be set up while we were out for the evening and when we returned it was never done. Rooms are pretty skimpy and bare. However the restaurant and downstairs bar are lovely and the food was very good! May 23, 2016
