Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst W My room had drilling noise so loud that even TV at full volume could not mask it. Tried calling down and took and hour for the manager Sasha to get back and say there is nothing we can do. I will never come back. If you are reading this, do no make the same mistake we did of staying here. Corporate complaint filed. April 12, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst W stay ever It's OK I wasn't made aware construction was taking place... When I arrived, No staff out front to simply tell guests what's going on and how to navigate the challenging entrance. Once I found the reception desk, I was asked to go into a mtg room, where the receptionist told me, "No, I'm the concierge"... Back out and finally was checked in. Not welcoming AT ALL. Service was clearly, also under construction. April 17, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 rough starwood property Even though it was being renovated, the rooms that were already complete were unsatisfactory. The elevators are very slow, noisy and dark. I got into the room and there were stains on both my double beds. The staff was pleasant. April 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Place The hotel was nice but my experience would have been better if it was easier to navigate. The hotel is under construction. It would have been nice if that had been shared with us prior to arrival. WIFI should be included in the rate. It is a very contemporary hotel. April 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Construction, Late Check-out, and Rate issues. The hotel is in a state of remodel. I was not bothered in my hotel room, nor did it prevent me from an enjoyable time. The Front Desk had some unusual issues, but it only hampered check-in. The room was ultra clean. The view of Lake Michigan was amazing. The bed was incredibly comfy. The elevators came quickly. The staff was pleasant. The extra surprise this time was room service. My wife ordered up coffee, ice water, and cream. The service was fast, the coffee was amazing, and I was happy. The cost was pricey, but I could enjoy the coffee in the terry cloth robe watching Lake Michigan bobble in the distance. April 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too loud Too noisy! Hotel was under construction upon check in. We were not notified when booking. April 21, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor service, noisy construction, and overall bad experience. My stay at the W Lakeshore was really unsatisfactory. I woke up every morning to noisy construction - that sounded like someone was drilling into my bathroom. I was there for work and attempting to work in my room was almost futile due to the disruptions. One day housekeeping didn't even come to my room, and it was clear that they didn't do a great job of cleaning as there was dust on many of the surfaces in the room, and the mirrors and windows needed to be windexed. I found the staff overall underwhelming, and unfriendly, and unhelpful. I am really unsatisfied with my stay. April 2, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by under remodel I stayed here for a short business trip. I was unaware that the hotel was under construction. The front entrance was very confusing. I woke up in the morning to people outside my window drilling into the walls. I don't think the experience was worth the money I paid. You stay at W for the vibe and atmosphere. With the place under construction, it was not the same. April 17, 2014
