This hotel is under MASSIVE renovations. I have been staying here for 9 years, annually and I am Platinum. Room service took 1.5 hours, no bottled water in the rooms (had to call down daily). The facilities (lobby bar and lounge and resto are crammed in to a meeting room with zero ambiance or windows. But most importantly, the staff didn't seem to want to make any effort to ameliorate the situation for me -- they are clearly under-staffed. Not to mention the constant construction noise. Maybe the biggest problem was that there did not seem to be any recognition of my status or the fact that I also held an event in one of the meeting rooms ($$$$) or attempt to make sure I was faring well after check in. I hope they get this hotel back in to shape, but until then, I will be seeking different options in the windy city.

I get that when a hotel is under construction it might not be perfect, but the room was very disappointing. Didn't have a desk chair when I checked in, the heat wouldn't go up (which is bad during the polar vortex), and the blanked the hotel uses is paper thin. I also found the bed to be terrible and stiff as a board. It was basically a cheaper version of a W looking hotel that is indeed a W.

Rated 2 out of 5 by NoSleep3 Stay thirsty my friends
The hotel does not provide water in the rooms (complimentary or for purchase). The 2cd week I stayed I called and asked for some so they brought me a bottle, then they came back 1.5 hours later and banged on my door at 10:30 PM to bring me my water. It was the same exact person and they didn't realize they had brought it earlier. Also, two weeks in a row I was not provided with a "green option" so don't expect those points. The W City Center is a much better option.

The hotel was under construction and I was not notified in advance. The service levels were well below expectations. The hours of operations were very restrictive, restaurant and room service closed at 9pm...really??? Staff was indifferent to my concerns and never offered anything other than an apology that frankly was less than sincere. I was encountered by one gracious employee and that was the bellman on my day of checkout. Awaken at 8am by construction crane outside my window. Poorly managed facility. It felt like limited service based on the limited outlets available. Good thing property is under renovation, it desperately needs it.

The hotel was under construction, but I was told I was in a newly renovated room. The bathroom door is a sliding door which you can see into thru the gap. I was with my adult son. Doubt if he wants to see Mom in the bathroom. The bathtub still had stains and paint drippings in it. Not to mention there was no hot water when we got there. In the morning it took 20 minutes before it got warm. The hairdryer quit on me. The wall from the outside of the bathroom is sheer so you can see the person's head in the bathroom and it brightens up the room when trying to sleep. The newly renovated room had a picture of bright red lips on the wall. I just thougt it cheapened the new decor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by sad5555555 Strange room with shutter doors on bathroom...really...what for?
The room charge of !49 was too high for the room. While the hotel ws under construction the rate should have been lower and the shutter doors that opened in the bathroom were strange. The double beds were small to sleep on, but the mattress was comfortable, if small.
60 parking was way too high of a charge.
The room was clean but we were charged too much...wish I could get some money back, but I know that is too much to ask.
One the construction is done, it may be better. Staff were fine, just feel like we were over charged for what we got.

There was major renovation going on so I will keep my review focused on my room.
During my 5-day hotel stay, my room was only cleaned twice and i believe it was cleaned the second time because I made a call to the front desk to complain. On one of the days in which room cleaning was skipped, I same back to meet a "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, meaning a truant room cleaner had hung it there to avoid cleaning my room. I had to hide my DND signs till I left.
There was left over pasta in the fridge from a previous guest and if you check the fridge today, I bet you its still there.
There was only one bar of soap in the bathroom and no body-wash (even after the room was cleaned) leaving me to share the same bar of soap for hand washes and showers.
The corners of the beds are pointy and jut out considerably more than the mattresses, and this has left me with long scratch marks on both shins.
The hotel key cards require at least 5 tries before they open your room door. This will teach you patience if you are not a patient person.
Other than these, the hotel was fine.

I have a great time here! The staff was very accommodating and genuine. There was renovation going on in the hotel, yet you did not feel as though there was an interruption in the flow of the hotel. The new rooms that they have changed are great! and I cant wait for the hotel to be complete and visit again.
