While the staff was friendly and helpful, we found the facility lacking and not up to the standards of most W hotels. Broken fixtures, lightbulbs burned out or with a short in them, sour smell in the hallway and no bedding for the pull out sofa in the suite. We called down because we were staying in the suite with our 2 sons (which they knew when we checked in) because there was no bedding for the pull out sofa. It took the staff 3 trips - first with just sheets, second "to find some pillows" and then they gave me a duvet cover with no insert.

I have stayed at this W Hotel many times and love the location, but the rooms are in serious need of work.....it's time for the hotel to put some money into remodeling. The room I recently stayed in had carpet that was bubbling, the bathtub dripped water (actually much more than a drip), the toilet handle was hanging off, the paint is chipped everywhere and the desk had no plugs for your computer--I had to put my computer on the floor near the minibar to plug in. I won't stay here again.

This hotel is an embarrassment to the W Hotel brand.
The common areas, such as hallways and lobby, were constantly dirty, loud, and crowded. The lobby generally lacked style and ambiance.
Had an issue with in-suite dining. Brought my problem to the manager the next day and issue addressed. I do wish it had been handled in a nicer tone, though. It still left me with an "unresolved" feeling.
Check-in was a mess. Was not acknowledged as a Platinum guest, nor told where things like the gym, pool, and elevators were located.
Room lacked style - could have been a room in any chain, not a W. Blow dryers need to be replaced.
Pool and gym are nice.
Hotel needs a general power-wash on the inside and outside. Staff should be retrained. Don't stay here - there are better SPG/Starwood options nearby.

We called to order room service and never received it. We called to the desk and the receptionist said she would call us back and let us know if the order was received and when our breakfast would be coming. Never heard back or received a breakfast. Complained at the front desk and the receptionist only response was that he would credit our account for a breakfast that we never received. That should be an an automatic!
Another complaint was that our room keys never worked right. Once I had left my purse and only had my room key and got locked out of the room with no ID etc. My husband had left the hotel and his name was on the room and they would not let me back into the room because I had no ID. My purse was locked in the room and of course once again the key was not working.
We have stayed at this hotel and many others but I would rate this overall experience as bad and frustrating.

The cleaning staff on 4 out of 7 days did not put toiletries in the bathroom, did not replace the paper coffee cups, took the bathroom rug and didnt' replace it. The hotel was full so they ran out of extra blankets when it was very cold.
Love the hotel and the location, however the maid staff made it horrible.

The review title says it all. What the W lacks in features (rooms) it over compensates for in service. I frequent this hotel for two reasons: 1. Location to downtown, CBD, and of course Bourbon St... and the 2. the service. The members at this hotel from the doormen to the welcome ambassador are top notch. They are respectful, outgoing and always looking for a way to help. I've already booked my next trip and despite the many choices in the area (and I have stayed at 4 others) this is my favorite.

My friend and I had to get new keys many times because the door wouldn't open. Frustrating going up and down the elevator to get new keys! Heard that we weren't the only ones. Some other guests had the same problem.

Great location, full service hotel. Could use an update.. Ie, bathroom looks dated, had to play with shower to get it to work, great conference rooms and food, frustrating to insert key in elevator to get to your room.. Nevere seemed like the key worked, but perhaps it's needed for security,
