Rated 3 out of 5 by SalesTraveler Sadly Disappointed
While the staff was incredible as you would expect from a W and SPG property, the sleeping room was a disappointment to me. I stayed here to assess the use of this property for an upcoming sales meeting, and while the meeting rooms and overall facility were fine, the sleeping rooms were below par. Electrical sockets were falling out of the wall and dirty, the coffee maker had opened sugar packets and dirty cups for use, the bed was not what I've come to expect from a W property, and overall it just didn't feel like a W room experience. I understand the hotel is an old building, but the carpets were very tired and worn and lots of marks on the walls, etc. Just seems pretty beat up in my opinion. Was sad to see this as I almost didn't visit as I know W is always a class act. Sadly this won't pass for my sales meeting.
Again, the STAFF was incredible though!

Rated 2 out of 5 by tra24 too many problems
from the long wait at check in, to the room not being ready by 4:30 to the tub and sinks not draining, to the phones and coffe machine in room not working, to the gym facilities having broken machines or no water even being available, this stay was the tops in disappointment staying with starwood properties.
while the staff was nice generally and would do what ws askeed, it seems that management has really let the ball drop. all behavior is reactive and not pro-active. i can only see myself staying here if no other great hotels are available.

Whilst I received outstanding support (pre and during stay) with some special requests such as receiving packages, there were some things that makes me hesitant to come back. First is very difficult to find an spare electricity plug in all the room plus a lot of cables and circuit board not properly storage. It was all over between the bed and the furnitures. Room cleaning is carried out very late (around 5-6 pm) on weekends. None SPG recogntion at all.

We were so so very underwhelmed by the quality of of the expensive suite stayed in that we moved to another hotel the folowing day. Very very ceap furniture and amenities. The staff tried hard but could not, did not follow through on simple requests like exra pillows.

Rated 4 out of 5 by M11T Slightly downmarket for W, but a good value
The W New Orleans is not quite what you'd expect from other W Hotels, because of its age. The price, however, reflects that, and it's a good value compared to other hotels in downtown New Orleans. Staff, service, and atmosphere were as good as you'd expect from any W. The W French Quarter has been recently renovated for those who are looking for a higher-end (and higher-priced) option.

Rated 2 out of 5 by KUZOTO Dirty room
I have stayed in Seattle ans San Diego W hotels and this was a terrible experience. I do understand it was converted from another hotel but that does NOT explain why my room was so dirty and dusty. Clearly no one had been in there easily for 2 weeks.
I manged to get a room change two days later but seriously destroyed my previous high opinion of the W

I love this hotel. Can't imagine staying any place else when visiting New Orleans.
