Had a wonderful time at the W Hotel in Istanbul. Good location in a quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance of the Tram or reasonable taxi fare to tourist locations.
Only criticism is that the typical "vibe" of the W that many of us have come to love is completely missing. The bar is empty - but with drink prices at 20+ USD for a vodka tonic, what local let alone foreign visitor wants to drink there. Many better and much more affordable drinking establishments located nearby.
In summary - great place to crash after a long day of sightseeing, but social scene completely absent.

The location is great for a Bosphorous neighborhood, the breakfast spread is really nice, the concierge is extremely knowledgeable, and the staff are friendly. The spaces are dimly lit, and I'd prefer not to hear the thumping disco music through the walls and in every public space.

We spent our honeymoon in the W Istanbul and it was the right choice!
It was a very nice experience and i recommend it to everyone.

Great area, property, Rooms, Bathrooms..priced ok. Hotel restorant needs to be improved..service not at par with hotel and also hotel bar needs atmosphere.
Overall the Front Desk was greeat.

I have stayed at over 15 different W hotels around the world and by far this is the BEST W hotel. Form the room size, staff engagement and SPG recognition the W Istanbul has continually exceeded all expectations. All to many times W properities in cities such as New York, Miami, London, and Paris I have never felt welcomed as a guest. These properties feel too self-important and fail to provide a true arm experience. Furhtermore these properties rarely adhere to the Platnium upgrade perk, they would rather sell the rooms and offer the complimentary ugrades as outlined in the SPG program. But here at the W Istanbul they are all top-notch!!!

The W Istanbul has great staff, dedicated, smiling, welcoming, they will go the extra mile to satisfy your requests.
Unfortunately, the property itself doesn't do it for me. The building strature (a thin slice of cake between two lively streets) makes for long narrow corrridors, mostly left undecorated, no lobby to speak off and a general decoration theme (we called it "Ottoman Bordello") which is borderline tacky.
I've seen quite some W hotels, and even though their aesthetic options can be discussed, they never felt cramped. This one does;

Dont live up to the usual W standard. We were given room differently from pictures, we had trouble with breakfast, room were not cleares properly, outside facilities could not be used..were dirty and wet. Staff were very good, and location is okay too. If you get the Rights room i Will recommend this hotel.

My Experience in W Istanbul leave much to be desired! The staff was very friendly, but the spa is very amateur, not at the level of a 5 star hotel. The relationship of the hotel with SPG member very poor and very noisy late at night! A hotel that leaves much to be desired.
