Checked in on Sunday. As a Platinum, was not offered an upgrade, but did not insist. However, ran into a flight crew in the elevator after dinner that did get an upgrade, so a little disappointed it didn't go to a Starwood member. Valet was very good throughout my stay, and my vehicle was ready as requested. My room was perfectly comfortable, albeit a little dark, However, most (i.e. more than half) of the lightbulbs in the room were burnt out and inoperative. That said, room service was very fast and efficient, and the hotel delivered all of the newspapers requested. The gyn was also perfectly acceptable. However, the hotel totally muffed on reporting my stay, and I had to contact SPG to get my Starwood points correctly posted. Great location, but meh.

I'm writing this review because I want Starwood Inc. and it's management team to know how wonderful the staff at this property is . Being that this was my very first time living at this property, I had expectations of good service and hospitality, however, the service went well beyond. In particular, there were 2 fabulous young ladies that represented professionalism, care, courtesy, attention and overall fantastic customer service and they happen to go by the names Vanessa Ahmad and Tamara Lang . I can't say enough about the service they provided during my stay . Each time I visit Atlanta, I would stay at the W Downtown and it happens to be a very nice hotel where as I've enjoyed my stays there, but W Mid-town is where i will be staying going forward thanks to the fantastic service and experience I had during my stay. Please be advised that Tamara and Vanessa are 2 of the most caring and professional staff I've experienced in quite a while and the lost of 1 of them would be too many. Staff like these 2 ladies are the reason people like myself are "Platinum" members because we always come back .

I appreciated the very comfortable bed, the peace and quiet, the in-person wake-up-call, the "personal grooming" area, the soft lights, and the numerous other features. The conference set-up was very convenient and the catering was excellent.

We were staying overnight in Midtown for a party. The shower drain was stopped up, so that after a minute in the shower, the basin was full of water. The second person showering had to worry about the basin overflowing. In speaking to others at our party, I heard that friends of theirs had the same exact problem. WOW. There was also a dead roach in the room. Right in the middle of the room too. How does that happen on the 17th floor? Was it ever vacuumed?

I must say that customer service was exceptional from the moment I walked into the hotel. I was greeted by Simone at the front desk who was very personable as well as Cain, who was my Bell hop. Both of them were very kind, attentive and professional. Every person that I came in contact with on Staff was so hospitable.
The hotel room was modern, romantic/ sultry, and comfortable. We had dinner at the Spice Market food and drinks were absolutely delicious.
I only have one complaint and that would be old and cold french fries from our late night meal order. I personally hate cold fries, but other than that everything was exceptional and I do hope to return back soon.

My stay at this hotel was one of the best traveling experiences I have ever had. I felt wonderful staying here, and everything was attended to down to the smallest detail. They go out of their way with the extras. The location is great. The first night I walked up Peachtree St. and had dinner and saw the sights. A convenient food court and business mall with restaurants, and a Starbucks, are attached to the hotel. It is gorgeous inside. The staff are so helpful and friendly and accommodating. My room was huge. I was attending a conference, and our facilities were top-notch. I cannot say enough about this hotel. I was already planning when I could go back and take my husband. Fabulous experience!

The hotel appears to be a club that has hotel rooms,
but does not care what it looks like in the daytime.
Our room -which was a top floor suite- appeared to have had too many parties. Broken light fixtures, cigarette holes, etc. All flash and very poor bones.
i do appreciate starwood beds & pillows..
