Rated 5 out of 5 Amazing hotel and staff Great hotel , fantastic vibe and atmosphere. Modern, trendy and innovative. Staff were excellent. and the food at the resturants esp. breakfast at the Fire restaurant was unbelievable. Would go back when in Bali again. September 29, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great food but much improvement from front desk staff needed... Great location in Seminiak, cool trendy deco and absolutely fabulous asian influence food. Great staff responsiveness at both restaurants and by the pool-side... Yet, we had a very cold and amateurish welcome at the hotel: well bellow usual SPG standards and even below the standards of all the other SPG and non-SPG hotels we visited in Bali during our stay. Useless to speak out platinium recognition. Furthermore, we had multiple issues with our request for a late check-out....Some of the front-desk staff are clearly in need of training. Also, you have a beautiful beach with yes, strong waves: you could make much better (and safe) use of it than just recommending to clients to avoid bathing there... September 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by W Retreat - What an Oasis! I got to say my jaw dropped after being impressed by the service at check-in at the front desk, shown around the retreat and then escorted to the room. The facility, room, service...the list just continues are OUTSTANDING! This is a real real retreat where you will be whisked into the compound along a stretch of bamboo trees away from the busy main street. Bryang (the Director of Rooms) served us at the check-in counter as the other Associates were busy with other guests. I really commend him for this as he was there to help his team instead of sitting in his office or not even bothering to help. He then showed us around the retreat and escorted us to our room as well. The W Retreat should be proud to have him working there. Breakfast was impeccable...I am a big fan of Westin Superfood Breakfast but I got to say W Retreat Bali win hands down now. Richard Millar is a big coup for this place as his Sunday Brunch at Fire was outstanding as well. Staff at the pool is very personal...they will always greet you and even remembered me on subsequent days. Woo Bar was fantastic...good spot to see sunset...cocktails and they even gave a complimentary pizza (this is a smart gesture as this little bites will make your patrons feel valued and will come back again!). The retreat is also close to many top restaurants in case you are bored with the food at the retreat. I am looking forward to visiting this retreat again in a couple of years' time. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great staff responsive This hotel staff responsive is excellent, from the security in front of the hotel until the reception staff is excellent. With full attention to our need. Even with the super fast internet connection all over the hotel area by Wifi. September 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great vacation in South East Asia While I was working in South East Asia, I was looking for a luxury resort property where I could just stay on site and relax for a few days, and the W Retreat & Spa in Bali was perfect for this type of vacation. Here are my thoughts on the place: - Impeccable service – all the staff was exceptionally accommodating and friendly, as one would expect from a W hotel chain. - Decor – very modern and inviting, from the trendy looking glow in the dark neon looking doorknobs on all the closet doors to the friendly greeting mats in the elevators for different time of day. - Great swimming pool and resting area with a bar and a poolside restaurant located nearby. -The Spectacular ocean facing retreat rooms are not huge, but adequate and comfortable. The room that I have stayed (room 529) had an amazing view of the beach/ocean. - Location: The Kuta/Legian shopping area is about 30 minutes by car from the hotel (without traffic). - The Starfish Bloo offered excellent breakfast buffet and Sunday brunch, with an impressive view of the beach, while the Fire restaurant offered a quieter and more formal dinner. - Transportation/car service – I paid for a regular airport transfer (minivan) and got a complimentary upgrade to a BMW vehicle. All in all, I had a wonderful time at the W retreat in Bali and would highly recommend this hotel. September 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding !!!!! This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the W Seminyak. Whatever, whenever, you really do live up to this, and go above and beyond to make our stay an enjoyable and memorable one. Levvin and the team at Star Fish Bloo, and Dina and her team at the Spa co-ordinated a brilliant Ladies Day for me. This day, along with our stay was a memorable experience and I will be sure to recommend the W to anyone visiting Bali !!! September 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Would not stay anywhere else My girlfriend and I just got back from a two-week stay at the W Retreat and Spa Bali. We had a great holiday in Bali and for a large part because of the W. Even before arriving at the Retreat, we had a very pleasant experience with the staff. E.g. after completing my reservation, I was contacted by one of the reservation agents to offer VIP immigration service and an airport pick-up (both I would highly recommend). After a short drive from the airport we entered the Retreat’s half a mile long driveway that I would call epic to say the least (if you want to exit the Retreat by foot to explore Seminyak, make sure to grab a buggy from the lobby to the main gate). SPG recognition is good at this property, as we were automatically upgraded upon check-in. During the first part of our holiday we stayed in a Spectacular Ocean Glimpse room. Everyone should know that all rooms (excluding the marvelous and wow suites) within the retreat are the same, however, they differ in view. As you enter the room, the first thing you notice is the bathroom that is to die for. Make sure you request a room on a floor that has the skylights in the shower. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated and really felt like a home away from home. The only drawback on the Ocean Glimpse rooms is the construction that is going on. You can see and hear the waves from your balcony, however, your eye will also catch the attention of the construction. So if it is ocean views you appreciate, make sure to get an ocean facing room. Breakfast at Fire is simply put the best buffet breakfast that we ever had experienced. Not just the food is delicious, the staff is very attentive as well. The breakfast host remembered our names and room number. Also, the waiters remembered what our favorite food was and asked if we wanted to order the same thing again. The pool area at WET is a good place to bask in the sun, with plenty of sunbeds available and attentive staff to order drinks or lunch. The sea in Seminyak can get quit rough so it isn’t allowed to swim in it, however we very much enjoyed watching the waves roll in. One of the Retreat’s dining venues, Starfish Bloo, overlooks the beach and pool area and is a great place to eat if you’re in to seafood. Gym facilities are great as well, so is the spa. One thing I love about W hotels is the cozy chill out spots that you can find throughout the entire hotel, and this property is no different. The WooBar is an architectural masterpiece and a good place to have cocktails and enjoy warm Balinese evenings. For our tours trough Bali, we both used taxi’s and hotel cars. For the longer trips I would advise using a hotel car, for a quick stop around the block grab a cab, as they cost next to nothing. We upgraded to a Villa for the last couple of days during our stay. The Villa’s are breathtaking and ideal if you value privacy and tranquility. The only drawback was that we found the water pressure to be very low. I’ve read a lot about the paths surrounding the villa’s to be uncomfortable to walk on, which is true, that’s way there is 24 hour valet service. Just dial whatever/whenever and there will be a buggy ready to pick you up within 10 minutes. Overall, it has been a very pleasant experience to stay at the W Bali. Had a chance to speak to the GM just before we were about to leave and seemed like a nice person. We noticed that the GM was walking around the property almost 24/7 making sure everything was perfect and setting the right example for the staff. As I struggled for a long time to decide which room to book, I would advise the following. If you value ocean view, go for the ocean facing rooms and not the ocean glimpse rooms. If it privacy you value, go for the Villa, as they are about the same price. We would like to thank the whole staff for making our stay so pleasant. Cheers May 23, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Relax on a Trendy Set A very trendy location a few step from the glamorous restaurants and boutiques of Seminyak. If you are seeking for stunning sunsets from the Woobar, funny barbecues in your own Pool Villa and a 24/24 SPA this is the address! September 2, 2014
