Rated 4 out of 5 by Fun for a night away First stay at an Aloft. Enjoyed the fun, unique decor (my kids REALLY liked it) Hence why we chose Aloft as a last minute family New Year's Eve getaway. The colorful interiors & funky theme works well in masking what would normally be just an average, in need of renovations, hotel. Cheap fabrics, worn carpeting, shower door seal damaged and leaked water, crumbling plaster on interior guestroom windows and a broken drain knob in bathroom sink. Had to prop that open with a plastic knife so the water would go down. Pluses: pool was nicely heated (coulda used shot of fresh chlorine). Beds super comfortable, room layout felt good and the staff was very friendly & helpful. Lots of lounge spaces with pool table. Breakfast ok, expensive for items found in any convenience store. Fun and laid back stay. Will definitely go again. Maybe other ocations aren't as worn. January 3, 2016

Rated 2 out of 5 by Quality has declined Aloft had always been my first choice in the area but I must say I was very disappointed this trip. The rooms seemed u kept as did the facility as a whole. There was a chlorine like smell in our first room and the second. The shower would drop randomly throughout the night. There was also this consistent water running sound. Like the sink was on ALL DAY. The walls were soiled, a few tiles were disconnected from the walls and the carpet was pulling away from the floor boards. The shared areas ( bar, outside sitting area) although the pool table needs some Serious TLC. Again, I love the brand but this site is a no-go on my list. October 26, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great 1 night at Aloft Stayed with my family of 4. Two kids loved the hotel and running around. Pros: Clean Modern Comfortable Easy free parking TV is fitted for businessman AC worked very well and wasn't blowing directly at you Wine and Art class looks interesting Fitness facility and pool looks good Check in and out was fast Cons: The beds moved too easily Bed frame had a nail fall out AC was initially set at 60, way too cold SPG keyless entry did not work with my iPhone 6 August 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Apperance I love how modern and retro they have the hotel set up. I'm a huge fan of the WXYZ bar and the pool table. The lounge area outside complements the hotel as well. The staff was on point from check in to check out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I'm definetly looking forward to staying again in the near future. August 25, 2015

Rated 1 out of 5 by Find another hotel this stay was a nightmare and the manager made minimal effort to satisfy our concerns. we highlighted the issue of our room not being cleaned for two days in a row. the telephone in the room did not work and the a/c did not work properly. Every evening the room temperature became uncomfortable. We highlighted the issue everyday and no one came to address the a/c problem. we stayed 4 nights for a softball tournament and it was a struggle to get towels over the 4th of july weekend for showers. we weren't the only guests complaining. our bill was over 640 dollars... they offered 30 dollars off as a concession... wow... what a joke. I wouldn't stay here if the rooms were free. July 6, 2015

Was not informed of amenities to hotel IE the 24 hr food center and coffee free, the pool hours or even if there was a pool and room check out time. George at the bar Saturday night was wonderful, pleasant, attentive and personable. The room was nice Clean and attractive. Shower stall leaked under door soaking bath mat. Bed comfortable BUT duvet cover lumpy and unattractive to sight with so many lumps. Informed front desk staff of leaking shower and clock in pool area stopped working. Overall a pleasant experience and would stay at Aloft Chesapeake again. May 25, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable, nice stay Keeping with Aloft brand style, the hotel had sharp design with trendy colors and minimal room decor. The room was clean and had a large shower with strong hot water pressure. Ample parking and gathering areas in the lobby. I'd stay here again, and I would certainly recommend this hotel. Only caveat to point out is that while a decent selection of snacks/drinks are available in the lobby, the are for purchase. If a "free breakfast" is necessary, then one would want to look elsewhere. Rated 5 out of 5 by We'll be back!!! Never stayed at any of the nearly 100 Alofts, but was always curious about them. LOVED IT!! The staff were accommodating, and made you feel welcome. I may be at the higher end of the target demo they are seeking at Aloft, but I am not a typical 50 year old. I loved the vibe I got the moment I walked in the door. The lobby was buzzing with activity (Paint Night!). Another big plus: a bar in the lobby that was open to 2am! So many times I have come back to a hotel early in the evening, wanting to have a nightcap, to find the hotel bar closed up tight at 9pm. This was an unexpected and awesome bonus. Can't say enough about how ALIVE this place was. If you have never stayed at an Aloft, don't pass up the chance! We will back, we are hooked!! April 6, 2015

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ripped Off Everything looked good on paper, and the hotel had a modern and sleek look on the outside. It ended up being my worst experience at a Starwood hotel. It began with a minor annoyance at check-in. There was a line of 5 people, with another associate helping two women with what looked to be a protracted issue. I waited about 10 minutes to be served, only to be cut in line by someone who looked to be a regular and needed a new room key. No apology for being cut, the front desk associate took care of her first. The other associate had finished with the two women, but went off to do other things, passing by the front desk a number of times, making eye contact with me, but not working on check in. The only request I had for the room was a quiet room. I had been traveling all day, and was planning another day of travel the next day. I was given a room on the third floor, about midway through one of the wings. Not where I would immediately guess quiet, but it seemed ok enough. The room was pretty good with features, nice bed, and everything was clean. The trouble began around 11 PM and through 1:30 AM. A large party moved about the floor, first going out, and then coming back, and holding loud conversations in the hall the entire time. I could not believe how clearly I could hear everything through the door. It was as if there was no wall at all between me and them. I was woken up three times through the night, and finally took a tylenol PM at 1:30 to force myself to sleep through the chatter. The group did not acknowledge me to quiet down when I asked, and there was no response from the front desk when I called. I've titled this ripped off, because that's exactly how I feel. I paid for a room to be able to get a good nights rest, at a reliable brand. This experience fell far short in the core service a hotel must provide. Both the physical infrastructure of the room, and the service from staff failed. Did the front desk not know there was a party on my floor, or was I put there intentionally? I can't urge people to stay away from this place enough. February 1, 2015

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cold room The hotel staff was friendly but the room was very cold. Turned up the heat in the room but it was still cold in the morning. Also had stains on the carpet and the programming on te TV was from the sixties. December 8, 2014
