The hotel was very unique, but I think having the front desk so close to the live entertainment is a mistake. When we checked in, the noise in the lobby was so loud that we could not hear the front desk clerk too well. Also, front desk could have been more helpful with amenities of hotel, such as, location of pool and gym, if and where breakfast is served, etc...

Rated 2 out of 5 by jim16 Karaoke Night is Awful
Following a great first stay at this hotel I had the misfortune of having my second stay coincide with karaoke night. What a disaster. Walking into the lobby that night looking forward to a relaxing drink at the cool lobby bar I was transported back to the 80's and the bar scene from Star Wars. Retreating to the comfort of my room was no relief because the sound system was loud enough to hear the "performers" everywhere. The festivities ended in the lobby at around 10:30pm but continued in the hallways for a lot longer. Totally changed my view of this very cool hotel from, well, totally cool to totally lame.

Rated 2 out of 5 by sorrycustomer13 This hotel is very different
The room was very bare. No pictures on the walls. The bed looked lumpy but was very comfortable. Strange stopper for the sink. Couldn't figure it out and had to ask. Toilet paper was located in the closet far away from the bathroom.
No hair dryer.
Shower was so high that by the time it got to me,(im short), the water was minimal.
Elevators were padded like you were in a psych ward.
Music was so loud, you could hear the DJ and his music up on the 3rd floor!
Would not want to stay there again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marisa86 A very chic and unique hotel!
A very unique and nice looking hotel, nothing like I have been to before. We had a king size room, and it was spacious. I loved that there were two windows that let in a lot of light. I like that instead of drawers, they had a closet area with an Ikea like set up. There was a small (like college small) refrigerator underneath the sink in the vanity area, (the toilet and shower were separated from that area with a sliding mirrored door), but no microwave. The bathroom had a glass stand in shower which was new! Every hotel I have been to always had baths. The pool, while small, was heated, and that definitely won me over. Didn't get a chance to use the gym, but looking inside, it looked pretty well equipped. There was an area that was sort of like a mini-restaurant that you can order and buy drinks and food from, we didn't do that since we were only there for one night, and we were at an event that had dinner. All in all a gorgeous hotel, with helpful and attentive staff. I enjoyed my stay!

I stayed here for two nights with my gf and my 2 year old little girl. It was amazing and we loved it here. The rooms were very cozy and the bed was like a cloud in which was the first time I slept past 7 a.m. in the past ten years. The hotel was very clean very modern and just all around cool. close to a lot of shopping and eating. The staff was very nice and very professional. My daughter and I were quietly running around acting like zombies were chasing us and there were a few workers that went out of thier way that acted like zombies which made her happy. There was also two gentlemen by the name of Steven and kyle that were the best help and extremely professional. Because of them two alone I'll stay here again....

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cvillefamily Unclear pet policies and sketchy charges to my credit card
This hotel was funky and had great accommodations for our family - my young daughter especially loved the pool and the cool elevator. I thought the beds were very comfortable, and the shower was great (though not private - not for the casual friends sharing a hotel room!)
HOWEVER, there were some really sketchy practices when it came to charging or holding money on the credit card that were NOT communicated.
Issue #1: pet policy (and glad they accept pets!) on the website is, "Animals are more than fun—they’re family too! So bring Fido, Rover, or Spot along. Our program offers a dog bed, bowl, woof-alicious treats, and toys. * If your dog weighs more than 40 pounds, please contact the hotel directly to discuss a waiver." We have a dog over 40 pounds, so we asked for a waiver when we made our reservation. All fine and good. Arrive to find out that they hold a refundable deposit of $250 (NOT MENTIONED EVER! And for ANY dog, not just bigger than 40 pounds) AND that they only allow 1 dog. Not that these policies are unreasonable, but they were quite a surprise to find out about when we'd checked and asked about the pet policy and we didn't find this out until we'd arrived. Also, none of the pet amenities (or for that matter, the kid amenities) were offered on check-in - I had to specifically ask for them and reference the offer on the website.
2. It turns out that for every guest, they don't just hold a credit card number for incidentals (which is what they tell you on check in), but they actually hold a $50 charge - refundable, but (like all refundable charges, including the pet deposit), it takes 5-10 business days to be refunded. This is a problem if you are using a debit card. Most hotels clearly POST this information (about the charge and the time it takes to be refunded) so that you see it upon check-in - Not ALOFT.
3. This last issue is hopefully a one-time, bad luck thing that affected us only, but it demonstrates the necessity of checking your bank or credit account before leaving; on top of our pet deposit and room charge, we had a $250 pending charge and a separate $290 pending charge that never appeared on our check-out paper work. The staff and manager would only say that it was for incidentals, but couldn't explain why it was so much. It took 2 hours of angry wrangling and many calls to our bank to get this taken care of. To me, it is not acceptable to ever put a charge (refundable or not) to an account without clearly stating that it will be done BEFORE it is done, and it should always be recorded on the paperwork. In the end, if we hadn't been vigilant, we would have walked out with more than $750 of funds that we couldn't access for 5-10 business days, none of which had been communicated to us beforehand.
This can all be avoided by clearly posting policies at the check-in desk and on-line. Not difficult to do, and I hope that management will do this ASAP.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sbison In town for marathon, up all night bc of wedding party. BOOM BOOM BOOM.
In town to run 2013 Philly marathon. Place looks spectacular and really hip! We enjoyed that much of it. They host wedding and parties with music so LOUD that we were unable to sleep with AC on to muffle sounds and ear plugs!!!!! The constant thump and thud and base from the party below was beyond terrible!!!! It went on till 12am. After listening and hoping for a change by themselves we called front desk to have the girl say that they pay more money and we (they) can't say anything to the party!!! What?!?! Brent night manager moved us to opposite side of hotel but then that put us next to the bar next door where they closed at 2am. Again, I was to run at 7-8 am after all this. Brent tried and was dry nice but he set up there to sleep is BAD!

Rated 5 out of 5 by PhillyMike First time at Aloft...
A lot of work has been put into the look of the rooms and it's really nicely done. The complimentary bottles of water is a nice touch, as was the in room fridge. It was not clear if an ice machine was anywhere in the hotel. The style of this hotel is probably unique I think! I like the "grab and go" breakfast area they have. The pool area is good but this hotel chain would really stand out with a "hot tub" instead of the pool.

I stayed on the second floor on a Wednesday night. Well they have Karaoke (LOUD) every Wednesday until 10pm. If you want to sleep and are on the second floor then GOOD LUCK. Oh yeah, they tell you that it is supposed to stop at 10pm but even after a few calls it didn't stop until close to 10:45pm. I really like the accomodations at ALoft hotels but I learned my lesson with this hotel.

We stayed for multiple nights and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Loved all the decor, cleanliness, friendliness of staff. We asked multiple times for additional towels and they brought them right up. The bed could be a little more comfy, but otherwise it was a great experience. It felt more like you were in a temporary apartment than a hotel....Great job!

Gave credit card # to hold the room.
Paid CASH when checking out.
Aloft debited my acount $201. on top of that.
Was told it would not be back in my acct for 5-10 business days. Was asked for fax # of my bank. Didn't know it and it was a Sunday. This has created a problem in my acct. I should have been made aware this was going to happen. Very unsatisfied.

There was a red stain on the top of my bed sheet. My hand towels were stained as well. As I conversed with other members of our large party, they also reported hair in their beds and stains on their towels. Breakfast was also quite disappointing. I asked specifically if there would be hot breakfast foods such as eggs. They failed to mention that it would only be pre-made sandwiches. I purchased one, took a bite and ended up quickly throwing it away. We held a banquet there and the food at the event was great. I suspect that this was catered however. Bed was very uncomfortable. I woke up the second morning with a severe back pain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WILgrvLOVIE We will stay here again and again.
I was impressed with the modern modular decor but really it was the staff that made a bigger impact. Everyone was friendly, accommodating and professional. My kids thought it was so great that the pool was open until 11pm. Our room was modern yet still comfortable (LOVE the beds and bedding!) and the temp control was reliable and responsive. The 24/7 snack bar off the lobby had a great range of items to suit all our needs and I also like the fact that we could charge the items right to our room making it very convenient and quick. Internet and TV worked like a charm. It was great to have the mini fridge and safe in the room. We will stay here again and again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MeMyselfandI I'm there every week...why the third degree?
Hi, Love ( Like family) the staff at the A Loft in Mt Laurel. They're a great group, but are young . When I check in I don't need to hear my name 15 times or have my personal e-mail checked out loud or heaven forbid my room number said out loud ( just write it on the little card holder and I'm good.) It just takes the one random weirdo standing in the lobby to know more about me than I care to have them know. (Honestly I'm just waiting for someone to call my name out in the hallway and mug me because they know which floor or room I'm in and they know my name.) Just discretely welcome me back with " Welcome Back" and smile. If I need to update anything,, I'll let you know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by YorYNot staying with dogs
This was our second time staying with our two small dogs at an Aloft hotel. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and the facilities were excellent. This hotel is located in a busy industrial/commercial area and is surrounded by large parking lots, which meant that parking was plentiful, easy, and free. We asked about the Arf package for our dogs, and housekeeping brought up a couple of dog bowls with food (we brought our own), but it was helpful to have the bowls for water. At this hotel, they did not bring up the dog beds. One nice feature is the nice roadhouse/restaurant right next door. We went there for some dinner and it was very nice -- not too loud, clean, and welcoming, with good beer, food, and helpful waitstaff. Checkout was easy.

First. Your Staff at the front desk is Fantastic.
Room - fair at best.
When I first opened my door to y room there was a maintenance man sitting on the floor - weird.
As the night got late the toilet kept running off and on, I was very tired from traveling and just wanted to sleep.
In the am as I was getting ready to start another day of work, I noticed there was no Ironing Board or Iron.
Air conditioner was very loud, not operating properly.
Again, front desk people super friendly.
Bathroom had debri in many area's from work being done in wall - hanging towel racks I guess?

Rated 4 out of 5 by JackieW First time visit to an A Loft
Thit hotel was very welcoming and the staff were great! THe common areas are very comfy and invite all to gather. It wasn't the type of hotel where you just want to stay in the room. They had a pool table, many LARGE TVs and a great pool. I also really enjoyed the outside patio.
I wish they had a free breakfast type of deal even if just fruit and drinks or something along those lines. Also, when we got to the room there were no pillow on the bed, but rather on the bench with no pillow cases. When I called the front desk they awere more than happy to bring up pillow cases and appologized.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Buddy86 No Parking No Information
I checked in around 5:30 and went out to eat. Upon returning I could not find a place to park. I parked in the hotel lot next to ALOFT. (It was raining). I asked the front desk about the situation, he said it was probably the Ale House next door..Oh Well. was the response
Additionally the direct TV must have 300 channels but no information on the line up or the hotel could be found in the room.
Oh Well... won't stay at an Aloft again and will not recommend to others

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bouffe Nice hotel - for a reasonable price
I picked this hotel based on price and the fact that it's part of the W brand of hotels. It met all my expectations for a W hotel - the room was a good size, modern decor, clean. The front desk staff were friendly and the lobby had a festive atmosphere with live music, bar, etc. It was very easy to get to - right off the NJ Turnpike and a quick ride into Philadelphia for dinner/entertainment. My only issue would be the lighting in the room - you can't turn on the light in the bathroom or vanity area without waking up the other party in the room - but other than that - it was a good visit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ExhaustedTraveler Impressive!
This weary traveler was impressed as soon as I walked in; the lobby was very cool. The gentleman behind the desk (sorry I didn't write his name down) was very professional and they happily accept pets - he even gave my dog a biscuit when I brought him in. The room was awesome, it was very stylish and efficient and the bed... hmmm... I just wanted to take it home with me! It was very comfy and I was in no hurry to get back on the road in the morning! Breakfast options were delicious also. I've been in the hotel business for a very long time and was very impressed with all of the employees.

It was my first stay at an ALOFT hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. I did not know how cool and unique of a hotel it was going to be. I enjoyed every aspect of the hotel. Although there was no outdoor pool, there is a comfy area to layout to catch some rays. This hotel has an excellent workout room, to get your groove on.
The staff was one of the best parts of my stay. There were extremely helpful, respectful and answered all of my questions/requests in a timely manner.
Thank you to all for making my first stay at an ALOFT hotel an amazing time. I will definitely be back.
