Rated 4 out of 5 by good and modern hotel for a stay in London - trendy We stayed in the aloft end of May 2012. The hotel is still very new (built in 2011), therefore modern and clean. I was staying on bonus points and got upgraded to a suite which in general is great. The suites are very nice, only downside is that there is only a shower in there, no bathtub. Location is good, not exactly central, but near next to a train station about 15 minutes from tower bridge. Cleaning was not perfect, mirrors and glass doors still had some finger prints and fat on there. Compared to other starwood hotels, breakfast and especially service for platinum members is not great - we only got three items at breatkfast for free. Nevertheless, overall, a good and comfortable hotel. June 6, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible hotel Way out of the way of everything in London except the Excel convention center across the street. Our sheets had a weird stain on them when we arrived. Security seems absent as there were raging parties a few nights during our stay that woke us up several times throughout the night. September 29, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by It has got lot better I have stayed here three or four times before and did not enjoy the experience at all. So I have not been back for a couple of years. Well, the hotel has really improved, the hotel has a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant is so much better, I had a great steak and a fantastic cheese cake. I walked to City Airport, took 15 minutes. Ubered into the city, cost 20 quid and took 20 minutes. SO well done to the team there, I look forward to returning very soon to the property. Slight niggle Room not cleaned very well, on my second day, dirty coffee cups not cleared away. This in no way spoiled my stay. R September 29, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by WOW Stayed here for our honeymoon in room 516. This is "NOT" a romantic hotel, but it is functional for your staying needs. You would think for a London hotel it would be small sized but this was not the case, as it is not a central London hotel. The room size was was more than adequate (with me being a large guy also) for the 3 nights we stayed. The room had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy and the black out blinds worked very well so we slept in longer than we should of one night. The shower kept the right temperature (even when someone flushed the toilet). The attached restaurant and bar are expensive but are of good quality. Two burger and fries with Apple Juice cost about £34 after the SPG members discount. If you do not like paying that sort of money then there are other places to eat locally. A Tesco express is about a 10-15 minuet walk away. Location wise, the hotel is based in Zone 3 of London and it will take you about half an hour to star seeing the sites of London. A one day Zone 1-3 travel card costing £7.60 per day. I will point out that you are next to London City Airport and you will see and hear then take off. Inside the Hotel this is not a major problem as they are well sound proofed. Now I always say a hotel is only as good as the staff you have contact with. We had more contact with the evening and night staff as we was out for most of the day. The staff we had contact with were very easy to get on with.Down to earth and my wife and I had a lot of laughs. Nothing was too much of a bother and nothing was an inconvenience. We arrived as strangers and felt like friends with some of them when we left. I can not fault the hotel in anyway and will be booking for our next stay shortly. August 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Vhast I would just like to say that the gentleman that checked us into the hotel was so nice and helpful. We were tired as it was late when we arrived at the hotel, but Vhast (which I may have spelled his name wrong) was awesome. He helped us find the sites that we were looking for in London and even copied a map for us with some directions. He was very helpful and we appreciated his welcome! The room was nice and comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was free for SPG members, and was a nice way to start our day! August 3, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Chemical air and little water I'm really disappointed of my stay in this hotel. Seen from a external point, it is a really nice and worthy hotel. Cool design, cool people, good beds and technical equipment, But the details are weak: our whole room was smelling from the glue of the carpet. A chemical odeur you must get used to in your room. Second problem: the shower. It is a large and wide shower with a top rainshower-head, But (I think of enviromental reasons) the amount of water is really little. That's not making fun at all. Really sad about that. Traffic from the near city airport was clearly heard through the windows - so it was difficult to sleep. Our contact to the staff was really friendly, we didn't try the breakfast though. Stay for one night for business would be okay; stay for longer to explore the city, I would not recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 by Ideal Hotel for being Close to London City Center This hotel was excellent being close to the London City center. It was only a train ride away and the train was steps from the hotel which was an added bonus for my family. Great view of the Thames and lots to do in and around the hotel! July 30, 2016
