Rated 3 out of 5 by Not up to the Starwood standard Some staff are nice but some are unfriendly. I booked a non smoking room and was put into a smoking room (with very strong smell). Overall not up to the Starwood standard (I had good experience with the Aloft chain when I travelled in the US so I tried this one - very disappointing). May 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by A lively new hotel A very neat hotel located in the new CBD. The new district was being constructed when we were there. Therefore, you don’t see a lot of people around. It was especially convenient if you are catching a train from the Zhengzhou East Station. (It was the reason we stayed there for the night) The room was pretty standard, not too big but very comfortable. The bed was extremely big which was really satisfactory. I’m sure this hotel will be a popular choice for accommodation when the new district finish its construction. Especially suitable for young people. January 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Incompetent Staff but close to Train Station Horrible experience at this SPG property. Other than proximity to the Zhengzhou East High Speed rail station, it lacks any redeeming qualities. I only stayed 1 night, and had 3 bad experiences: 1) there are very few dining options around the hotel, so I brought 3 colleagues to eat at the Nook. The buffet was recommended to us by the staff, but when we got to the buffet, we found no food left. When I first mentioned this to the staff, I was encouraged to eat some lettuce. Only after repeatedly asking the staff what was going on and waiting around eating lettuce, were we told that the kitchen was understaffed and new food would not be coming out soon. We were then encouraged to order off the menu. Unfortunately, after ordering food off the menu, food similarly did not make an appearance for a long time. 2) I went to the gym in the morning, and I was the only one there. Halfway through my workout, a male staff member came in and just watched me for several minutes. It made me very uncomfortable, and was quite creepy. 3) Upon check-out, my room bill was confused with that of someone else. Namely someone of a different gender, nationality, with a different room rate and laundry bill. The incompetence of the staff of this hotel is astounding. June 9, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by excellent stay Hotel exceeded expectations. Room, service, and food was excellent. Breakfast buffet and Chinese restaurant were great. Only some problem with WiFi coverage on my floor...21st floor which was a bit touch and go. March 17, 2013
