Rated 5 out of 5 Refreshing atmosphere I love the aloft SF. Staff are incredibly friendly and the entire hotel is really clean with a positive vibe. The bathroom is great but be sure to bring conditioner if you have dry hair! Only thing that could make it better would be a bathrobe. :-) January 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not a real airport hotel Was a bit disappointed to arrive at SFO airport, only to find that the "Aloft Airport Hotel" wasn't actually in the Airport. Arriving at midnight after traveling for 14 hours, I was hoping to just walk into something on premise. Still, the night staff was very helpful in getting me checked in and settled, and the atmosphere in the XYZ bar was nice to relax in with some colleagues. For better or worse, the build quality of the hotel felt mass produced, like each room came prefabbed in components and bolted together. January 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Not just another hotel. My wife and I got to stay at the Aloft near the San Francisco airport for 5 nights and we both loved it. Unique design and very nice comfort level throughout the lobby, gym, pool, and room. Would easily stay there again on our next trip to San Fran and makes me want to check out some of the other hotels within the chain. January 30, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Comfortable I really appreciated that the basics were of good quality. Comfortable bedding, good quality towels, shampoo and body wash provided in a smart, efficient way. Good lighting and an efficient heating/cooling system, all necessary amenities provided for... all led to a very comfortable experience. I will definitely visit again! January 14, 2013

Downsides were the fee for parking, limited choices for breakfast and wished the hotel staff offered more info than having to ask (eg free wifi code, need to use specific gate for parking, options for breakfast, etc...). Rated 3 out of 5 by great but toxic small Love the hotel but each night the lobby gets filled with a noxious smoke.I think it is burning plastic. One night it was so bad it was actually foggy. I think it is from a broiler or something in a kitchen or something. It is so bad the smell gets up to the room. Told the desk but they seemed oblivious. January 12, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Too Basic and not enough staff I thought the hotel itself was nice. It has a contemporary look that is really cool. The gym was nicely equipped and probably nicer than most gyms for hotels of this size. The rooms are nice as they have a large shower, comfy bed, and large flat screen TV, but that is the end of the positives. They do not have a full service restaurant nor do they have room service. I went to the bar because I was told they had appetizers, but it was slim pickings and the salads on the menu at the bar were a joke. I was told to walk across the lobby to get a salad out of cooler that was prepared in the morning. Frankly the salad was not even as good as something you would get at Sheetz. The staff was very courteous, but every time I needed something I had to wait because they did not have enough staff. Plus the staff is dressed too casually. I suppose if I just needed to stay somewhere overnight, it would be perfect, but I was there 5 nights and that was 4 nights too many. Sorry....... January 11, 2013

They were so attentive to my needs during my stay and delivered a level of customer service that was topnotch. I would recommend this place as an affordable, alternative option to the downtown S.F. hotels. Convenience to the public transit system (Bart) is an advantage too if traveling to the city or other points in the Bay area. January 10, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Clean and Friendly, but poor construction I will start by saying that the hotel was very clean, front desk staff was very nice, and the room had everything you would need for an airport hotel. I was told about the gym and indoor pool upon check in, which I used and were both fine. I went down to the WXYZ bar to have a snack. I ordered chicken potstickers and a glass of wine. At the time, not one single person was in the restaurant. The waitress returned with chicken strips and tater tots that were clearly overcooked. I said this was not what I ordered and her reply was she hoped I didn't mind taking that because she put extra care in crisping them. Since I was in a hurry, I ate part of them and got the check. Upon returning to my room, I decided to shower and go to bed for my early flight. The water pressuer was so low it hardly rinsed the shampoo out of my hair. I went to bed and didn't sleep a wink due to the noise in the hotel and the heat clicking off and on all night with a weird clicking before the unit came on. I love SPG and am very loyal, but I don't think I'll find myself staying at this hotel again or likely any aLoft. January 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I loved the new concept of the Aloft Hotel. I had a welcome surprise when I arrived. I had never stayed in an Aloft Hotel and was not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. It surpassed my expectations. I loved the new suave and futuristic look. All staff members were awesome and very polite and efficient. The food selection was limited but the Hotel was ready with alternative choices. I would definitely plan to return and also recommend to friends & family. January 8, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by They need to improve This hotel is still in experimentation mode. I am still here but my first night was scheduled separately. Tonight I have been changed to three rooms: 1st room: Heater didn't really work properly. It got cold frequently. Technician tried hard to fix, could not. 2nd room: Horrible smell of fragrance (maybe someone smoked there and they sprayed something) and security box was not working. 3rd room: Ended up at 2nd floor room where I don't really have much privacy as the people parking their cars can see you. That being said 3rd room kind of work. I would have expected a better experience as last time I spent 11 day here (that was in December) and this time I will spend 7 days. I come to the Bay Area very frequently and was planning to make of Aloft my primary base while in the Bay Area but after this visit I am starting to doubt it. That being said the services guys here tried to provide a good service but building maintenance is really needed. It is a management problem I think. January 8, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Most solid Aloft so far I have stayed at Aloft hotels in Charlotte and NYC prior to this one at SFO. Generally, the concept and constraints are fine. However, I have noted at the prior ones that Starwood commits many basic errors prevalent in US hotels - loud wall unit HVACs and entry doors that slam shut. Here at SFO, both were much quieter. I still wish there would be a comfortable chair in the room. Otherwise, it hits the marks for convenience. One thing to look at is the parking. it seems to be for more than the hotel and can be hard to find a spot - why not reserve the closest spots for hotel guests? December 30, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable hotel, minutes from SFO The hotel's interior is modern and chic, and the room I slept in was very comfortable. I would chose Aloft anytime that I am travelling through SFO and need a hotel. Note, however, that loud ambient music is broadcast in all common areas of the hotel (lobby, lounge, bar, spa, pool, and patio), from early morning to late night, and this made it impossible for me to enjoy any of those spaces for very long. Do you really need house music in the pool or on the patio at 6:00 a.m.? December 29, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Fashion over function Like every Aloft hotel, this one has a very cool/hip vibe. Unfortunately, the water conservation requirements in San Francisco and the "hip" shower heads do not mix very well. The water pressure is horrible and the large shower heads make it worse because they are not designed for low flow standards. The water did not spray out into the hip sexy shower area, but instead falls vertically almost against the wall. I asked and although the staff was very nice and tried to accommodate, I was told that all the rooms were this way. This problem could be overcome with the correct shower heads, although they would be different from most other Aloft hotels. The pool was BEAUTIFUL they spent a fortune to build the indoor pool area! However, it too, was not functional - Steps along one entire end of the pool made laps in the short pool impossible, indicating that the designer valued aesthetics over function. The fireplace in the lounge did not work, and would have been nice on a rainy night. Except for the salads, the food should be ordered only as a snack, as it is all pub/ microwave frozen food. I love the Aloft concept and really enjoy staying at this brand of hotels in general, but the problems here will prevent me from returning. . December 26, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel smells good and clean Came up for football game. Krissy at front desk was awesome, went out of her way for my needs. From the minute you walked in it smelled heavenly. Room was very clean and nice. Shower was nice and sink area. Bar was ok, Annette was accommodating even with a huge bday party and by herself still gave great service. The only thing, they were out of more of the things on menu. Not her fault, she did her best. Coming back in January for playoffs and will stay her again. The one thing I didn't like was parking situation. Had to pay no matter what as was privately owned. As a starhot person usually get free parking. Kinda pricey. December 13, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 Nice Hotel, Great vibe This was my first stay at Aloft. I did not know what to expect but thought the rooms and staff were up to my expectations. My only problem was a noisy air conditioner that kept waking me up every time it clicked on and off. Turning it off left me with a very stuffy room. Paying for parking is not unusual in the area but $20 for hotel guests seems a little high. Overall a nice stay, Ill just bring ear plugs next time. December 10, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 Internet killed me All was good with the ALOFt, except the internet. It was horrible bandwith. They said they were imrpoving it, but the staff was clueless. If the hotel your are staying i n is next to the airport, that means business travellers. Theat means the internt is important. I have never experienced such level of bandwith. I could not do anything on the intternet. This should be upgraded immediately in 2012!!!! December 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent hotel for an airport layover I had a great stay for a layover on my way to Cabo. This hotel was my first stay at an Aloft and it was simply excellent. The staff were helpful and courteous. Free airport shuttle and the room was simple but updated and perfect for what I needed. Shower was the highlight of my trip!!! Just wonderful bliss products in shower and the glass enclosure and design were just chic and inviting. I would come back here if I ever needed a layover in SF again!! Thank you! December 2, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unsatisfactory I was disappointed to arrive at the hotel to find the system to be down for the two days of my stay. I had to be escorted to my room multiple times. The hotel staff have provided no accommodations for the inconvenience. I was further disappointed that the hotel staff required me to leave my room and go to the front desk to pick up a tube of toothpaste, when they would have had to escort me back to my room any way. I was disappointed to find there to be no bathtub in any rooms available, nor room service of any kind. I was also disappointed at the insufficient entertainment available, such as movies-on-demand, or things of that sort. November 28, 2012
