Spas have become a necessity for full-service hotel operations. They are to hotels today what swimming pools were in the ‘80s and fitness centers were in the ‘90s. Whether spa services are merely offered in-room, or via a proprietary outlet on site, these types of offerings are now more commonly expected of our hotels.

The most common spa services include massages, facials and nail services (e.g. manicures and pedicures). Many of our resort spas also include full-service salons, fitness and nutritional consultations, yoga and meditation, outdoor and indoor activities with guided instruction and so much more. Depending on the size and scope of the operation, there can be myriad opportunities for qualified candidates, including:

  • Spa Director
  • Assistant Spa Director
  • Spa Manager
  • Spa Supervisor

Licensed Staff

  • Massage Therapists
  • Estheticians
  • Salon Technicians

  • Private Trainers
  • Fitness Instructors
  • Nutritionists
  • Lock attendant
  • Receptionist

Generally speaking, managers are multi-faceted individuals who either began their careers as licensed staff or worked as managers in other hospitality environments. Their primary objective is to manage and market the business, often working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) and the Hotel Operations Manager or GM. Assistant Spa Directors are usually responsible for personnel management and day-to-day operations, although this role varies at each property.
