A 19th-century loft in the heart of Frankfurt was completely renovated to create The Pure—a hotel that captures the city’s open-minded, cosmopolitan spirit. Guests are invited to relax in a welcoming, homey atmosphere where the works of artist Stefan Strumbel in the lobby, breakfast room, bar, and lounge explore the meaning of the word “Heimat” (home). Lighting and music create an ambience that changes throughout the day.
MADE BY ORIGINALS
Hoteliers and trendsetters Micky Rosen and Alex Urseanu have been transforming the hospitality scene in their native Frankfurt for more than a decade. Rosen is a noted gastronome and editor of guide “Cool Restaurants Frankfurt,” and Urseanu is an entrepreneur with a retail chain in several German cities and has many years’ experience in international hospitality. Together, they are famous for turning once-unloved spaces into local hotspots.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
The Pure’s former life as a textile factory has been thoroughly stripped, leaving no trace of industrial-chic, exposed brick, or metalwork. Instead, the focus is now firmly on the energy and activity within this sleek, futuristic “home.” Designer Oana Rosen has used exclusively light colors and materials—such as white leather, Thassos marble, lacquer, and gray floors—to give a sense of openness emphasized by clean-lined furnishings and high ceilings.
