An electrifying medley of sleek design fused with the ancient splendor of Athens, Fresh Hotel warmly welcomes guests to a spacious and calm sanctuary. Each of the 133 rooms comes with punches of color, as well as furniture and fittings from designers such as Philippe Starck and Zaha Hadid. While the landmark Air Lounge Bar is complete with a rooftop pool, a wooden deck, and olive trees, the latest addition “ArtWall” brings together contemporary local artists to create an urban visual dialogue in the hotel.
MADE BY ORIGINALS
Mother of two children and juggler of many businesses, Ada Yfanti left her family’s company when she was 26 to pursue her own career in hospitality. With a vision of creating a hotel that would be architecturally noteworthy as well as a gathering spot for local creative, the Athenian conjured up Fresh Hotel. In addition to Fresh, Yfanti runs two smaller retreats on Samos Island, and the Esti olive oil company with her husband.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Fresh Hotel is a kaleidoscope of color in Athens’ emergent industrial quarter, as designed by Tassos Zeppos, Eleni Georgiadi, and associates. A mix of natural materials, such as oak and walnut wood, are contrasted by bright pinks and oranges, while a pool and bar overlooking the Acropolis sit atop the nine-story building. Clean lines and sleek modernism pervades throughout the 133 guest rooms—six of them with private Zen gardens—while loud dashes of color adorn mauves and beiges. Furniture and fittings include Starck’s transparent polycarbonate Eros chairs by Kartell, Urquiola’s Lens tables by B&B Italia, and Tolomeo lamps by Artemide, while a fireplace sits across from the statement reception area, which is encased in a pink glass box.
